With just a month and a week until Talk Like a Pirate Day (September 19) I am working on my website, eek! I even got permission from the Pirate Guys at talklikeapirate.com to call mine the Official Canadian Talk Like A Pirate Site.
SO! If anyone has something I could add to the site, let me know! Links to other Pirate sites, lyrics to Piratey songs, reviews of Pirate movies... Pictures, historical facts, whatever. Post here or e-mail emilyaitkin@yahoo.ca if there's anything you'd like to contribute!

My crew is gone, and although the lass below has attempted to lure, as it may be, them back I'm 'fraid it's unacceptable. If you could all do a tiny bit of'a fava, and mind at leasting lettin' your Capt'n know about the leave time, that would patch things alright up.

The obsession with Bootstrap Bill is wearing mighty thin in my mind. It's disturbing.
There was a very definite time period, per Capt. Barbosa, between the theft of the Aztec Gold and the full onslaught of the curse. Bootstrap was killed at the beginning when they could still eat, drink, have "pleasurable company," and walk about in the bloody moonlight. End of story. They needed his blood to break the curse because he did in fact take a piece. But he's bloody dead now; they actually killed him. He didn't just sink to the bottom of the sea and wait ten years until the curse was broken and then die. He died that day.
Arrr.

Hey everyone! My name is Lesley, nice to meet you all. Just wanted to offer my salutations - and a wild piece of speculation I came up with upon watching PotC over and over again.
I was watching PotC again (yes, again - you have all been there, don't give me that), and I couldn't help but notice something... well, odd. Something odd about Mr. Gibbs. So, being the adamant fandom whore I am, I decided to take notes, and this is what I've come up with. I've put this under a cut because it contains major spoilers, and it's the polite thing to do.

You know what I just realized?
If they needed Bootstrap's blood to undo the curse, that meant that Bootstrap took one of the coins. That coin went to Will, so they needed Will's blood, right?
If Bootstrap DID have a part in the curse, wouldn't he be cursed just like the resf of them? If he was, why did he die when they sent him to the bottom of the ocean?
I thought they couldn't die...
Think about it...
