i have nothing exciting to say, but i figured i'd write one last entry before i disappear into the woods for eight days.
maybe i should make a will should i not come back from this little excursion
- at my funeral, instead of a service, i want everyone to watch newsies in spanish. that way they can all be thoroughly amused, and nobody will cry.
- at my burial, i would like "jim the bootlegger and other such events" (which i got an A+ on) to be read instead of a eulogy. it'll give people enough of a sense of who i am without having to be too wordy and depressing.
- i would like my room to be left as is. no joke, even the dog hair on the carpet. i want it all to stay there. and nobody need go through my stuff. there's nothing to find anyway.
- i would like each of my close friends to receive one of my random musical cds or tapes, so that they can remember me always through cheerful cheesy musical numbers.
- sharon, being my best friend, should get something special upon my demise. therefore, i leave her my max casella autographed music man poster and playbill in the frame. she can also have any other broadway paraphenilia that i possess.
- i would like, if it is possible, to have some sort of memorial award established in my name so that every year one not especially talented athlete or anything could receive an award for being creative, intelligent, NOT popular, and a drama geek.
- i don't want flowers sent in memory of me, send chocolate instead. chocolate is much better. much better.
- if someone could write a song about me it would be amusing as well. the end.
but hopefully, i will not demise over four point, and i will return to write many more entries.

have you ever wondered why you don't have a bestest best friend?
sometimes i think my name really fits me.
the "anne" from anne of green gables was a dreamer, talked too much, and desperately wanted a bosom friend.
the "anne" from "annie" is a bit naive, homely, and loves nyc.
and then there's queen anne. she has furniture named after her. i have a bug named after me. in eighth grade bruce renamed the potato bug after me. yes.
yes, my name fits me very well.

*sigh* Listening to JCSS makes me happy. It shouldn't, it's rather depressing ,really. But it makes me happy anyhow.
Today, I got an email from the college counselors saying that I needed to get my list of the colleges I'm thinking about. I think that's stupid. I'm only 16 (almost 17) and I'm supposed to know what I am going to do for the rest of my life? I mean, I can't WAIT to graduate from this place and go on to college, but the whole process is insane. It's a business, college is. And it's not right. It should be about education and learning what you want to do with the rest of your life. Learning...not deciding. It's just very frustrating. But alas and alack, I am a junior, and thus the process begins.
Also, starting next Friday, I will be out in the woods for 8 days. I'm incredibly nervous. I have so much planned for spring break, but I can't let my mind focus on that stuff until those 8 days are over! I'm not a very strong person. I'm pretty little, so it's hard for me to carry a lot of stuff on my back. And I'm going to be carrying my life on my back for 8 days. With snowshoes. And lots of snow. And twenty thousand pounds of clothing on. It's insane. I don't know know what this school was thinking when the initiated the program. Some people like it, yes, but most people dread the coming of March break as a Junior. Don't get me wrong, I like being outdoors. But I like warmth. At least, warmer than the winter temperatures are in Maine...in the woods...at night... If I don't write in this thing for a long time after March 1st, you'll know what's happened to me. I've frozen to death during my outward boundish experience. I can't believe it's almost here. That just blows me away. I mean, I spent my entire freshman and sophomore points thinking about how much it would stink to have to be on junior four point. And now my time has finally come. It's a very scary thought.
And then there's this whole school thing. Who ever came up with the concept of mass amounts fo homework anyway? I mean, I'm a teenager, I'm supposed ot have a social life, right? WRONG! I can't leave campus after dark, I have to study from 7-9:15, I have to have an afternoon activity, I can't keep a car on campus, I can't go on a weekend to a friends' unless I have like twenty thousand signatures on this stupid pink form, and I just don't have the time for any type of social life! I mean, I know the kids on campus well, some more than others, and some more than I should like, but I just...I just...AHHHHH!!!!
Now I feel slightly better. :-)
On a lighter note, I found out that the spring musical is going to be Oliver! I'm very excited. They already have this little boy who is going to play Oliver, but I'm hoping to get Dodger. It would make me SO happy! I'm not sure when auditions are, but I'm really hoping for Dodger. 'Twoud make pre-cal a lot less stressful if I knew that I could sing "Consider Yourself" every day after school. :-)
And I still want a boyfriend. I don't even have a definitive crush anymore. And everyone around me seems to have a boyfriend, and it makes me really sad. I want a guy. And I know I sound desperate, and I know I don't really NEED one, but I want one! I want someone to tell me I'm pretty and kiss me and make me feel special. And I don't have that. All I have is the imaginary Leopogolas VinceDutchy. And as much as I hate to admit it, he's not real. So I'm left here alone. Without a guy. Without much of a social life. And with very few friends I can pour my soul out to. As Nancy would say from Oliver!, "It's a Fine Life!" Ah well....
And now I am being attacked by a dying fly. That is revolting. I need to go to bed now.

Well, our team lost on Tuesday. But I'm alright with it. Because the other team was really good, and we played our hardest. And no more basketball for me! Coach is trying to convince I need to play next year, but I really don't feel like I should. I really want to do the whole drama for three trimesters thing. I had fun (sometimes) during basketball this season, but I know I would love to do drama even more in the winter, as I have not been able to do it in the winter before. Oh well, I'm trying to concentrate more on the spring musical right now. It's coming up really soon, and they still haven't told us what it will be.
Oh, and I got a solo in chorus. It's the women's solo for the Rent song, "Seasons of Love." I was so nervous when I auditioned that I was shaking...it was like an impromptu audition in front of the entire chorus. So I was nervous. But I got it! Yay! This'll be only my second ever solo in the chorus here. The first one was a shrot little line from "Santa Baby" last year. So yah, I'm excited about that.
In other news, Jim the Bootlegger is Kirsten's lover, and he wears an attractive green cloche hat.
Also, I got flowers on V-Day! Two carnations and some daisies from my friends Kristen, Craig, and Emily. Hurrah!
And now, I am off....

Last night I stayed up quite late to write two history papers after drinking this weird energy drink called..dun dun dun...Venom.
I ended up writing one story about a guy named Jim the Bootlegger. My roommate and I laughed so hard that our stomaches hurt.
It was great.
The assignment was to write an account of a day in the life of you, a girl from the 1920s. So the girl from the 1920s in my account is dating Vinnie Bertucci, son of the most affluent crime ring leader in Chicago, and buys whiskey off of a bootlegger named Jim. Who is wearing a cloche hat. Why is that amusing? Because a closhe hat is a woman's hat. But whatever. I left it in anyway.
I think I am going to laugh now.
We have a big game today. If we win this game, we go to Augusta for the championship. If we lose, we're done.
Though I wouldn't mind beign done with basketball forever (I'm not playing next year), I don't want to get this far only to lose. So we'll see how it goes. I'm quite nervous.
I'll just think some more about Jim the Bootlegger.
Here's a sentence or two from my paper:
"My beau, Vinnie, needed to purchase a new (and enjoyable liberating) swimsuit for our next trip to the beach, andI needed to replace my oversized galoshes."
"We were startled when we saw that it was an unfamiliar young man wearing a long dark coat and a cloche hat."
"My mother had often warned me of the dangers of bootlegging. But then again, I thought, she also believed that Calvin Coolidge was a handsome man."
"Doll, they aren't any more dangerous than the silk stockins you are wearin'."
"I wasn't one to lie to a cop, so when Vinnie didn't respond, I simply answered for him. 'Yes, there's one bottle. But it's not even full, officer!..."
"So today I almost got arrested, and at the same time discovered that my beau is the son of one of the most affluent leaders in the Chicago area crime ring, Fast Talkin' Bertucci. And I didn't even get some new galoshes. What a day."
The end.

224 days left to fulfill my goal for the year: to be really kissed.
I saw a beautiful guy (with blonde hair) at church today. He was probably about my age ish. But I didn't get the chance to converse with him. But, if I'm lucky, maybe he'll help me complete my goal. Perhaps.
Some of my other weekend accomplishments- - I baked a Shirley Temple chocolate cake from the Fannie Farmer cookbook. It was the lovechild of me and boredome. Wonderful. I put the leftovers in a tupperware dish and now have it here at school. I have food in my room! Hurrah! - I resuced a cat from a tree. A very tall tree. I'm a hero, k? I had to climb an old ladder and everything. But I saved her, and now I should get some knid of metal to make me feel like my weekend was beneficial at all to mankind.
No, it was not. My weekend was incredibly pointless, and I don't get another full weekend until, well, the weekend after next.
And I've only got 224 days left.

I had lots of dreams last night...but I can only remember bits and pieces of them...they were..interesting to say the least.
The first one involved a sheep. I was in the barn here at school (although it was much larger in the dream), and there was this small herd of sheep inside. They all looked pretty normal except for this one. This sheep was sorta short-haired and dark all over--except for on top of its head..there it had blonde dreadlocks. And I asked someone why the sheep looked so different and they said it was because it was the alpha sheep. And that's all I remember about that dream.
The next one involved Dean Cain (AKA Superman). I have no idea why, but he was playing football for the Patriots. And he messed up on a pass or something, and was crying. And then it zoomed up on his face and...it was so weird. That's about all I remember about that one.
So it was strange. But whatever.
I got out of pre-calc early because my teacher was sick. So I'm in my room just waiting for lunch now. Hurrah! My day has not been so bad so far.
Toodlie pip!

Three Things of Importance- (1) Our basketball team won our games last Tuesday and Wednesday, and I scored in both games. (2) I finally was able to watch the DVD this weekend. Wonderfullness! and (3) THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS WON THE SUPERBOWL!!!!! AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was THE single most exciting moment of this year. 7 seconds left and the Patriots win it! Man, I have never experienced a New England team's major triumph like that before. I am still incredibly excited, and I got up at 5:00 this morning to get back to school!
And I had an awesome weekend. I watched the DVD, took my dad and brother to see LOTR (my fourth time), and then the Superbowl. It was wonderful.
Oh yah, one more thing: PATRIOTS ROCK MY SOCKS!! TOM BRADY IS MY HERO! WE FINALLY WON ONE, BOYS!!!!!
*dances about some more, and then faints.*
The end.

I had a really bad day yesterday.
But then, it all turned around at 9:45 when they announcned to us that we wouldn't be having classes today! I got to stay up slightly later than normal reading, and then slept in until...get this....9:15!! I haven't slept in in...well...forever...
I still have an away game that I won't be back from until 11 tonight, but at least I've got some extra rest this morning. Now if only I had time to do my homework for tomorrow....we have practice before the game. Yah, doesn't it suck?
I'm going to go watch some Wedding Story and then head over to BRUNCH!!

THE PATRIOTS WON!!!!! AHHHHHH!!!
I decided that instead of watching Newsies, because I can watch it anytime, I would watch the Conference championships. They projected the game (Pats vs. Pits) onto the Gehring lounge wall, and about 20 people showed up to watch it. 'Twas very excited. Yay for Drew Bledsoe!!

Well, we lost our game yesterday. I did score, but I also fouled three times...the most so far this game...and they were all within like five minutes. I guess I was a little excited...
And I found out that I most likely won't be able to see LOTR again today. :-P It's not playing in the theatre nearby anymore. Since we're not allowed to keep cars or ride in cars with day students, the only way we could see it would be if someone on weekend duty would drive us to Norway. Since that seems a little out of the picture (I asked), it looks like we won't be going.
BUT, I still have the Newsies DVD, and I plan on watching it as soon as I can find someone with a DVD player. Then I have an optional captain's practice at 4...which I'll try to go to. I don't wanna be considered a slacker...
In conclusion: A secretary is not a pet, or an erector set. It happened to Charlie McCoy, boy, we fired him like a shot..the day the fellow forgot...a secretary is not..a toy.

oh dear...too much how to succeed in business w/out really trying for me! hehe.
i've had a good morning so far. and i've already been up for four hours. i had to get up at 6:15 ish because i had breakfast dish duty. which was weird. our dish crew was sitting at the table, eating our breakfasts, and this freshman girl comes up, kinda staggering, and pokes one of the guys' bagels. she just...poked it. and then she walked back into the kitchen, and fainted. it was very bizarre...
the i had chemistry which was fine...whatever...as far as saturday morning classes go, it wasn't bad. and then history. most of the people in my class (which is normally a large class) were at ski meets or other places, so there were only about 7 of us there. and we watched a movie. and now i have free dot.
unfortunately, i have an away game tonight...against Elan. they are vicious...but last time we beat them, so hopefully it'll be a repeat game. a 9-3 record would be appreciated. but the game is at five, and before that is the jv guys' game, and after ours is the varsity guys'...so we're not gonna get back until...well....forever.
but i am still happy. wanna know why? two things- 1) my mommy sent me the newsies dvd yesterday! hurrah! *kisses it* i haven't had time to watch it yet, but i can't wait! it's so perdy... 2) i'm seeing lotr again tomorrow afternoon with abby. yayee! that'll make 4 times! who cares if i'm giving up the afternoon of my one weekend day...i'll be spending it looking at the beautiful legolas greenleaf, which will make it all good. :-) 3) did i mention the newsies dvd? yay!!
and now i must work on some fics. i have a deadline for next week before i have to finish reflections for seven...eep! it's gonna be tight, that's for sure!

Hmmm....I've mentioned Junior Four Point in this thing before, no? Well, anyway, we had our first meeting about it tonight. I was nervous before but now....I'm petrified. Mac showed all of the gear we needed to buy for the trip, and to put it simply- it's a lot of stuff. And then Mr. Wight showed us what would be provided for us...and the packs are HUGE! I can't imagine I will be able to stand when it's full. I'm pretty small, and I think the pack is bigger than I am...I'll have to check, though. Heh. The only way I can get out of this Four Point thing is if I either break a limb or our basketball team makes it to the championship game and needs to compete rather than go on the trip. Which would make me verrrry happy. For those of you reading this who have no idea what I'm talking about...basically we're put in groups with 5 or 6 other people who we don't usually hang out with, given snowshoes and packs, and tossed into the wilderness for 8 days....the first week of March....in Maine. It's quite insane, really. I think after I get back and have been killed by mountain lions I will sue the school for every penny. That'll show 'em! Hehe. Actually, I don't think the trip will be that bad. I mean, I know I'll be tired and hungry and scared...but I guess I'll be able to survive. I'm gonna be positive while I'm out there, because otherwise those 8 days would seem like an eternity. Which they almost will be.

4:14 pm - Mandy Moore fans beware.....*muahahahaha*
|
I've decided to do an entire post on why I hate, *ahem*, strongly dislike Mandy Moore. This is brought on by the fact that I just read someone's journal telling why they did like her, and it made me slightly ill, so I shall try to prove to the world how much she is evil and whatnot. - She's all "I love musical theatre"....then why doesn't she do that than crappy pop music? At this point, she's pretty famous, she could get into the legit stage to prob if she really wanted to. - In her pop songs, she sounds really really breathy. I mean, for goodness sakes, child, fill those lungs! My voice teacher gets really cranky whenever I start to sound airy. Did anyone ever teach her? - She's freakin' 17! And she hosts a tv show, appears in two movies, and perofmrs concerts and whatnot. I guess this is where the jealousy issue comes into play... - Here's another jealousy issue- Dominic Maldonado, a former newsie, is one of her dancers. My crackers. That's enough reason to dislike her right there. AND she was on tour with Backstreet Boys (who I will not comment on at this time, because I'm doing enough bashing of pop stars right now) and EYC!!! Who was in EYC? TREY FREAKIN' PARKER!!! Another newsie! *groans and pounds her head on the desk* Why her? -I'm sorry, well, actually I'm not, but the way she talks is so incredibly obnoxious. I can't explain it, but if you've ever seen her MTV diary, you know what I mean. -She is playing a plain, nonpopular girl in her new movie. I'm sorry, but there is no way that anybody can convince me that she is right for that character. Ack! - Have you seen Princess Diaries? I mean, anyone could do that! Be an annoying valley girl, that is. And she got to make out with Erik Von Detton. Another jealousy factor... - Sure, she can sing when she tries, but then why the fluffy ice cream cones doesn't she? I mean, she has all the opportunities to produce a good song and display her talents, but instead she comes off as being just another annoying talentless but hot blonde singer.
Okay, so overall, I dislike Mandy Moore because...well...I'm jealous. Maybe she's a fine person to hang out with, I dunno. But yah, she's living the kind of life I wish I had (well, minus the cheesy pop songs), and it makes me upset. It just doesn't seem fair! But then again, life isn't fair, I suppose. Oh well.

I had a chemistry quiz this morning and my teacher let me leave after I finished. Yay! I was the first one done in like 20 minutes, so I have sort of a half of a free dot not. It's wonderful.
I'm tired. I have lots of fics to write.
Last night, my roommate and I spent an hour and a half (until almost midnight) just talking about cheese. We were so overtired that like anything sounded funny. For example, it's very amusing to substitute "cheese" into famous movie lines, songs, etc. Some of our favorites from last night: Quotes "Frankly my dear, I don't give a cheese." "After all, tomorrow is another cheese!" "I want my cheese shaken, not stirred." "It just so happens that your friend here is only mostly cheese..." "Carpe diem, seize the cheese!" "What you would say would seem like wisdom but for the warning in my cheese." "Show me the cheese!" "You had me at cheese." Movie/Book/Song/TV Show Titles Lord of the Cheese: The Fellowship of the Cheese Cheesus Christ Superstar Cheese (A substitute for Friends...we were really tired at this point) Rocko's Modern Cheese As the World Cheese I Love Cheese Laverne and Cheese Song Lyrics "It's tearin' up my cheese..." "I've got one hand in my cheese..." "Parsely, sage, rosemary and cheese..." "If I had a million cheeses..."
And now I am out of time. Seriously, try this some time. It's very amusing.

Yesterday, my heart almost stopped. You see, we had a really really big game against East Gate Christian Academy (an undefeated team), and we were behind for most of the game. Then, in the last quarter, their star player fouled out (well, ours did, too, but that's beside the point), and we caught up. With about fifteen seconds left to the game, we were down by one point, and the ball was in our court. Mira shot it up, it went in, and we won! It was so exciting! The other team couldn't believe they had lost, I don't they've lost in the past few years. And I played for most of the game, which was pretty cool, although I was a nervous wreck. But it put me in a good mood to write my American Lit paper. Heh.
And then, I had a freaky dream last night. I dreampt that I was gonna go on Junior four point, and the group I was assigned to only had two other girls in it, and the leader was the dragon-like teacher here who I will not name. And then my Mom came to my room and told me that my father was going to die on the 1st of the month, the first day I would be gone into the woods. But she still wanted me to go. And then some strange girl gave me tampons and candy to take with me. It was such a freaky dream. When will I have another Newsies or LOTR one? I just want a good one for once this year!
I'm moving today. Most of my stuff is already up there, but some of it isn't. I just have to move my computer and my easy chair and a few other odds 'n ends. But for the most part, I'm already moved in. So last night was my last night with a single. *sigh* It was nice while it lasted...
I just had a Spanish test. Wonderful. It was actually not too bad, though I didn't have time to study last night because of my APAL paper. I hate analyzing poetry. It has got to be my least favorite type of paper. It's just so tedious and stressful...
On a lighter note, there was a photographer at the game last night, so maybe I'll be in the paper (hopefully not being blocked or something) today or tomorrow! Yay! I love publicity. Hehe.
