MSNBC D-day 60th anniversary programming— MSNBC will celebrate the 60th anniversary of D-Day with extensive coverage throughout the weekend of June 5th and 6th, including live telecasts of events in France, interviews with veterans, long-form programming devoted to the invasion and special reports, as well as live coverage of President Bush’s address from Normandy.  The centerpiece of the network’s coverage is a special two-hour program entitled “June 6, 1944: As It Happened,” which will premiere Saturday June 5 at 8:00 p.m. (ET).  In this historically correct re-telling of D-Day, correspondents will contribute reports on the invasion as if it were actually occurring at that moment in time. “Hardball” draws more viewers Than “Anderson Cooper 360” for the second consecutive month — MSNBC’s “Hardball with Chris Matthews” notched another ratings victory over CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360,” drawing more total viewers than CNN for the second consecutive month, and also outdrawing CNN in HH ratings. This is the first time that MSNBC has outrated CNN in weekday primetime for two consecutive months.

Meteorologist Sean McLaughlin to join MSNBC— Emmy Award-winning meteorologist Sean McLaughlin will join MSNBC as a weather anchor in July, it was announced today by Mark Effron, Vice President, News, Daytime Programming. McLaughlin will also serve as weather reporter on the Sunday edition of NBC’s "Weekend Today."

Court-martial in Baghdad Duty or Disgrace— In an effort to shed light on the Abu Ghraib prisoner abuse scandal, MSNBC will devote much of its programming to a behind-the-scenes examination of the scandal, Wednesday, May 19. Special coverage airs throughout the day ith live reports from Baghdad and across the country.

'Hardball' celebrates its 7th anniversary—The "Hardball" anniversary week will feature influential guests who shape the political landscape, including an exclusive on-on-one interview with Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld from his Pentagon office and an interview with Massachusetts Senator Ted Kennedy. Other guests include journalists Lesley Stahl and Cokie Roberts, Marc Racicot, the Chairman of the Bush-Cheney Campaign, and comedians Jimmy Kimmel and Bill Maher.

The "Hardball" 7th Anniversary Week will highlight some of Matthews’s best interviews and memorable moments over the past seven years. Each show will include tributes from celebrities and newsmakers including Donald Trump, Don Imus, Sen. John McCain, Karen Hughes, Whoopi Goldberg, Bob Costas, Tucker Carlson, Regis Philbin, Kelly Ripa and a host of others who join in congratulating Chris Matthews and "Hardball."

Analysis of the 9/11 hearings Sunday, April 18 -- MSNBC will present special analysis of the 9/11 commission hearings, Sunday, April 18, 12-4 p.m. (ET). MSNBC anchor Chris Jansing hosts this special afternoon, with an expert panel that will listen to key testimony given over the past several weeks and provide in-depth analysis on how this testimony could affect the findings of the commission.

Hardball special -- Chris Matthews goes to Walter Reed Army Medical Hospital to talk to U.S. soldiers injured in the line of duty in Iraq. Matthews talks to the men-27 year-old Army Staff Sergeant Roy Mitchell and 32 year-old Retired Army Sergeant Chris Schneider about the injuries they suffered while serving their country, the amazing medical advances helping them to recover and what their plans are for the future.

"Objective: Peace" series begins Monday, through March 19th 2004 -- Combining the powerful resources of NBC News on broadcast, cable and the internet, and in conjunction with Newsweek and the Washington Post, beginning today NBC News will offer comprehensive coverage - for two weeks - on the aftermath of the war with Iraq one year later in a special series, "Objective: Peace." Throughout this week (March 8 - 12), NBC will examine the impact of the war on the home front, and during the second week (March 15 - 19), will report the story from the battlefield.

MSNBC presents 'The Future is Now: Tech Summit 2004' -- MSNBC's Lester Holt and Lisa Ling host "THE FUTURE IS NOW: TECH SUMMIT 2004,"an exclusive sneak-peek at the latest high-tech advances in television, cars, cell phones, music and more live from the Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts at Pace University in New York City on Sunday, March 21, 8-10 p.m. ET.

NBC News presents: The Power of Faith, An in-depth look at how our nation’s faithful find hope, inspiration and meaning -- With Mel Gibson’s movie, "The Passion of the Christ" hitting screens across the country this week, talk of faith and religion has traveled well beyond the usual places of worship. As questions about the movie’s deeper meaning and historical accuracy abound, NBC News will present a special look at the role that faith plays in our lives and our world. This cross-platform special series, "The Power of Faith," will be the focus of reporting throughout the day on Friday, February 27.

Former CNN leader Rick Kaplan will head MSNBC -- Veteran ABC executive and former CNN chief Rick Kaplan will replace Erik Sorenson as the head of MSNBC’s cable television channel. The announcement was made Tuesday by NBC News President Neal Shapiro and is effective immediately.

MSNBC presents "Love Story: The Reagan Letters," Sunday, Feb. 15th, 10-11 p.m. (ET). NBC’s "Today" co-host Katie Couric hosts this one-hour documentary, which takes an inside look at the enduring love affair between Nancy and Ronald Reagan.

Deborah Norville joins MSNBC -- 'Deborah Norville tonight' premieres Wednesday, Jan. 21. Award-winning broadcast journalist Deborah Norville joins MSNBC beginning Wednesday, Jan. 21, it was announced today by Erik Sorenson, President and General Manager, MSNBC. "Deborah Norville Tonight," featuring interviews with the people making news on the biggest and most compelling stories of the day, will telecast weeknights, 9-10 p.m. (ET).

MSNBC will telecast live coverage of the February 3rd primaries, beginning Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET. "Hardball" host Chris Matthews anchors with a panel including former Howard Dean campaign manager Joe Trippi, former Clinton press secretary Dee Dee Myers, "Scarborough Country" host Joe Scarborough, Democratic strategist Jacques DeGraff, Newsweek's Howard Fineman, and Ron Reagan providing in-depth analysis of all the latest returns. MSNBC presents "The Great Communicator: Ronald Reagan in his Own Words," Sunday, Feb. 8th, 10-11 p.m. (ET). NBC News anchor Brian Williams hosts this one-hour documentary, premiering the weekend of Reagan's 93rd birthday, which showcases some of the most influential and popular speeches, interviews, and critical moments of the former President's career.

Hardball Battle for the White House — Beginning Oct. 13, MSNBC will kick off "Hardball: A Battle for the White House" a series of live, hour-long interviews with the Democratic presidential candidates conducted by "Hardball" host Chris Matthews. MSNBC’s original hour-long documentary, "JFK: The Day That Changed America," premieres Monday, Nov. 17, 9-10 p.m. ET, marking the 40th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, with personal recollections by friends, celebrities, and business and political luminaries whose lives were touched by the young President and his tragic death, and who share where they were when they first heard the shocking news.
