free information and education
i'm a big bbc fan, always have been since i was little. the bbc has been on cable tv for ages in holland and thus i was exposed to english at an early age. blue peter, take haart, postman pat and many other programs are close to my heart and i'm not even talking about the many good documentations the bbc produces on all sorts of subjects.
now the bbc is thinking about taking themselves as prime information suppliers a step further with a creative commons license. let's make sure this happens, follow the below link to make yourself heard, do so today!

handheld pc
my second favorite computer maker, apple is my first, has made it's first steps into the world of gaming. via technologies from taiwan has just created a full pc complaint mini pc board so small that it will fit inside a handheld.
the inquirer has a nice article with a good photo of the first prototype... where do i sign up?
if you are interested in buying via kit i strongly suggest to go to the uk's best mini-itx site, these guys sell it all, ship it fast and are very competitive priced!

TRON the movie
i received an email yesterday with a link to this site.
it's the website of one jay maynard who has created a tron cosume... i can understand how people would laugh at this but i would have to disagree, this guy has balls, as is obvious, since he is damn proud of his work and totally cool with showing it off.
jay, you are one cool dude!

movablepain
that was fun, i created a post this morning regarding a movie i saw this weekend and BANG, my berkley database is screwed. a bit of googling revealed this handy blog post so i decided to follow the chaps advise and move to mysql.
deleted everything on my hosting server, re-installed and ran mt-load.cgi... errors again so back to google which revealed this post on the movabletype support forums. could be my lazy way of digesting manuals but i did not see that i had to set the password in mt-db-pass.cgi.
anyways, i'm back up again...

c c c cold
being a fan of end of the world theme movies i just had to see 'the day after tomorrow' and i was not disappointed. acting and story could have done with a bit of beefing up but then again it IS an action flick.
it was interesting to see that everyone on the cinema made sure they put their coats on and zipped up before leaving the cinema... only to discover that is was very warm outside. suw reported a drop in the cinema half way trough the movie and come to think of it i put my coat on half way trough the movie... this cals for an investigation.
