Newsreaders and RSS

Newsreaders (also called news aggregators) are software which allow you to obtain constantly updated headlines and links to articles delivered to your desktop computer or other devices such as PDAs. Sites which offer RSS services indicate this with an 'RSS', 'Syndicate' or or other link or icon on the site. (RSS is the name of the programming format which makes this possible).

This makes it easy for you to keep up with changing news from many different sites without having to visit each site individually. For example, you could arrange to get headlines from dozens of different newspapers, journals, blogs, and so on, simultaneously.
