After five years on the import scene, french supersite The-Sugoi has closed down. The archive will remain up for some time, and this will probably not be the last we see of webmaster Fabien, but even so, a staple of the internet has been removed. If you've never visited before, take a look around and see what you were missing - and will continue to miss from now on. Fabien and company - thank you for your five years of dedication to the import scene - you will be missed!!
A group of people have cracked the Pokemon Mini handheld...the smallest cart-based console. Click the projects link for photos, and check out the videos as well. They've even gotten homebrew games running on the actual hardware. Check out Darkfader's site for more technical info on how this was done. Thanks to Slashdot Games for the link.
Triangle Service, of 12 Stag fame, has a new shooter in the works - it's in arcade location tests as we speak. Click-Stick is hosting some images of the test. There's an official page of sorts right here, and apparently you can 'lift' blocks thrown by robots with your plane for a high score. But as for what that means.... Makes about as much sense as 'trizeal'
Two new Chaos Field movies are up - a rule explanation and a gameplay montage. And riverservice says that the game will be fully released to arcades on the 24th of this month. Thanks to triggerzone for the link.
The popular korean PC RPG Magna Carta is coming to Japan on the PS2, thanks to Banpresto. Check out the official site here (there are movies, if you can find them). The game will be released in september, but you can still get the original PC version here for $20.
According to dengeki online, Advanced Guardian Heroes will be up to 4-player. The price is to be 5,040 yen, and the release date remains september 22nd.
Taito has made an aggressive move in the arcade industry with the announcement of a windows XP-based system architecture. The system takes the windows base, and takes away everything used for 'not-games', leaving a solid shell for Direct X product. They're calling it the Type X, appropriately. The CPU is a Celeron 2.5GHz Intel 865G chipset. Games copy to the harddrive of the TypeX via a security-encrypted USB drive, and windows games can be nearly directly 'ported.' And because it's windows architecture, they do have plans to bring it overseas, namely the west. They can't name any specific license they've acquired for the new arcade system, but with the Falcom/Aruze announcement on the third, and the Taito/Falcom announcement not two days before that, I think we've got candidate #1 lined straight up. The aim is to create a new industry standard - serious competition to the Atomiswave. Original press release here.
Haeleth has put up english patch version .57, the first new patch for Kanon in over a year! Kanon, for those who don't know, is an excellent visual novel, the characters of which populate many doujin fighters and shooters. Thanks to
The extras have been announced for the limited edition of KOF: Maximum Impact. You get a tournament DVD, a 60 page booklet and a telephone card. Only 7,329 yen!
SNK Playmore announced their KOF Neowave betatest yesterday, which just ended today. Planning! But in other news, the site is updated with all characters now.
Swery is the writer/director of Spy Fiction, Sammy's new (to the US) action espionage game. There's a contest going on (with digital cameras as the prize), for who can ask him the best question about his work or his background. To this end he wrote up a little bio of himself. It's on the Spy Fiction site, but I liked it enough when I read the thing at E3, that I put it right here. The man worked at SNK because it was near his house. That's something.
Nifty cosplay link site devoted to shooter characters. Use the navigation on the left to find cosplay from ESP. Ra. De., Shikigami, Guwange and others (Rage of the Dragons too, though that's clearly not a shooter). Thanks to click-stick for the link.
Taito has put up a page for their PS2 port of the popular Falcom watercolor ARPG. They really should've added a two player mode (the game is currently two characters, one controller).
Click-Stick has posted the first stage replay of Clover-TAC's 41+ million clear of ESP. Ra. De. He will be posting the five subsequent stages as weeks wear on, so keep checking back (there's a release schedule to be found at the above link).
The prince is back! The Katamari Damashii site has opened for the sequel, this time with increased wackiness quotient. Sort of. It's certainly your best chance to get 'flipped the bird' by a king.
Yesterday was Namco's 50th birthday, and they're marking this year by releasing a new title in 7 of their major series. Six games have been announced recently (Ace Combat 5, Tekken 5, Xenosaga Episode 2, Katamari Damashii 2, new Taiko no Tatsujin, Smash Court Pro Tournament 2), but we can't be sure that these are the ones they're talking about (considering Smash Court Pro Tour wasn't much of a hit).
Here's the report on Sammy Studios - games covered include Guilty Gear Isuka, Darkwatch, The Shield, and Spy Fiction (kinda). Also take a look at Josh's Taiwan report for some images of the Hello Kitty PS2 game.
There's a new issue of the online mag Armchair Arcade out - you should go give it a look. Highlights include a VR glove retrospective, MUD discussion, and 2D vs FPS, not to mention a few interviews.
Falcom has teamed up with Aruze to bring us Multi Access Play. This will allow users to connect to games over the net with their phones, PCs, home consoles, info terminals and arcades. To this end, Falcom is releasing arcade versions of several of their PC titles: Dragon Slayer AC, Ys AC, Sorcerian AC, VM Japan AC, Legend of Heroes AC and Xanadu AC. The games will be released one by one in accordance with the Multi Access Play plan. Original story at itmedia.
Tailzone has developed something interesting recently - Heaven's Door, an ADV game scripter for the GBA. You put in the images you want, the choices, and the results, and there you go! Well, it's a bit more complicated than that, but looks like a rather nice tool. I believe you can option out his usual frightening text color-scheme.
The release date for Assault Suits Valken has been postponed to August 26th. But on the bright side, the official site has opened. The game is a port of the original SFC game (not a sequel, as I previously mis-reported), with an extra 'zero mission'. Thanks to jiji for the link.
Advanced Guardian Heroes now has a release date: September 22, 2004 at 4800 yen. There are some images in a new Chinese magazine, which are looking quite nice. The character design leans more towards Gunstar Heroes, interestingly. Thanks to Namakoteam for the news.
Update! There's now an official site with clear screens.
The Association of Retailers of TV-game Software (ARTS) has a little blurb up about Katamari Damashii 2 being in the works. Apparently the game will be released in Japan inside of this year. Namco plans to make this property into a series. And as a result, the official page has sort of been renewed. You'll see what I mean.
Continuing the grand japanese tradition of making things out of paper that you probably shouldn't, Way of the Rodent has a slew of print-and-fold arcade cabinets for your assembling pleasure. The best part is that the cabs are all specific to the games, they're not just reprints. Fine work.
Sony didn't release the PS2 western demo of Gran Tourismo 4 traditionally, but the Prius demo has been brought to the US through Toyota. Just follow Gamepro's guide, and a free GT4 demo is yours for the grabbing. Stock will likely not last long - the Prius accessory brochure is already out of stock!
This Phelps fellow has put to practice what many of us have considered - a GBA-less Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles setup. Using five TVs, Five GCs and four Gameboy Players, they were able to play the game perfectly - with their wavebirds, even. Thanks to Slashdot games for the link.
The news in kid-land - you can now download the opening movie for Memories Off: sorekara. They've also got a new PC->PS2/DC port in the works - Pizzicato Polka. Some excellent art, and the same scenario director as Cross Channel. The game is planned for this summer.
Hamapika reports that the development of Capcom Fighting Allstars has not stopped, and that Capcom Fighting Jam has not replaced it. This news must be taken with a grain of salt considering the source, but...well...it'd be nice if it were true.
By now you've heard of the Sega/Sammy conglomeration, of course. It seems as though all of sega's different offices will once again converge into a single entity, over which sammy's lead exec Hajime Satomi will have primary control. A view of their new logo is here. One can only hope that good games will result.
SNK World has announced the closure of their site, a little less than one year after opening. They hope that the community will follow to the development of a new 10th anniversary KOF site, supposedly launching this month. The general SNK fansite may relaunch next year. Thanks to Nikaiten for the news.
Taito has announced their plans to port several Falcom games to the PS2. The games planned are Ys 3, 4 and 5 (no word on just which Ys 4 they're referring to, but it's likely the SFC version), as well as the popular new Zwei!! ARPG. According to the Game Watch article, they're to be ports of the PC versions, which are themselves ports. The games were released as part of a box compilation promo earlier in the year. No word on whether or not the games will be altered from their original form. An itmedia list suggests that Ys 3 will be released in the fall, and Game Watch gives a specific month (august) for Zwei!!'s release. With any luck, maybe they'll port the Legend of Xanadu series next!
nfg's Lawrence has put up a step-by-step guide to making a USB Saturn pad out of spare parts. Recently a lot of folks have been keen on the pad released with the Puyo Puyo fever mac port for this reason, so if you've the time, might want to give it a try.
Hot on the heels of his interview, Murasame has announced a new shooter - Gundeadligne. The game will be released at the next Comiket. Thanks to Zepy for the link.
Virginplay has confirmed that the GP32 will be released in Spain on June 15th. Check the site and click the GP32 logo to the left for their mini site and announcement. The Italian site is still under construction, but the launch there should be nearly simultaneous.
In other GP32 news, the Korean doujin group mad tea time has a new website, and a new demo of their game Insane Night. And for those who have difficulty keeping up with the GP32 homebrew scene, the GP32 section of PDroms is up again - now Kojote can keep up with it for us. Thanks to GP32 News for the link.
Play Asia has cut the prices on several games recently, most notably three Korean version PS2 shooters. Psyvariar Complete, Shikigami no Shiro and 12 Stag are all down to $29 each. In preorder news, check out Bouken Jidai Katsugeki: Goemon (Konami Palace Collection). News to me that they were porting it to PS2, but it'll only be $25 when it's released in June. Also check out the new toys, including tekki gatchapon, and a restock of Tamagotchi Plus! They sold out very quickly last time, so make your claim.
There's another new Puyo Puyo fever minigame up - it's bowling this time! I wonder when they'll finally stop making them? The game has been out for a while. Thanks as always to Rid (who just recently had a birthday) for the news.
Tekken V was in arcadia, and the IGGY has posted info on it in the mmcafe forums. Check the post for the words. A lot of these sound like rumors, but...they appear to be factual! Mekara beeeeeam!
Gpara has a whole bunch of new screens of KOF Neowave. The illustrations are looking better...at least on the girls' side. Truly odd that there are fewer characters here than there were in 2002.
Some screens of Assault Suits Valken, the mysterious Assault Suit sequel we mentioned last month, have surfaced at Gamekult. Seems the game will be a nice 2D/3D hybrid, while still keeping the look of the original series. Also remember that X-Nauts is the home of what's left of the Psikyo employees. Set your wallets on 'buy'. Thanks to Leviathan for the link.
Bad Boost Energy is the home of the creators of the TobiDivine soundtrack mentioned yesterday. And if you poke around, you'll find the entire original AST (not the remix) in MP3 format, as well as a plethora of excellent tunes. All of the main links are in English, so go to it!! Thanks to Kusanagi for the link.
Site News: Met Insert Credit

insert credit
A few people met with insert credit staff after the last day of E3. Some words and pictures can be found in the forum.
Another bit of Success news - Yoshinoya has shipped today, the Restaurant Action game. You can now check out movies, commercials and wallpapers here. P-A purchase link.
Success is doing a Superlite 2000 re-release of omoide ni kawaru kimi~ Memories Off - the page for the rather popular original can be found here. Coming June 3rd.
Roni has put up a machine translated interview with the excellent Murasame of Gundemonium fame (and dicing knight, for WSC). I've noticed a trend - the better doujin games seem to come about when guys get rejected for jobs with game companies. Rebellion is the mother of invention, I suppose. Also check out an animated gif of the french doujin projects Roni himself is working on as a graphic designer.
Abogado Powers is releasing a Remix CD for TobiDivine, their excellent side-scrolling shooter. Demo MP3s coming soon. In other Abopa news, they've released an apology for their recent lack of updates. Seems they're in some legal trouble, though it's a bit unclear as to what it is, or what the implications may be. If anyone has further info, drop me a line. But whatever the problem, it means the cancellation of Seiken H, their next planned title. hmm.
Studio Siesta, known for their Airrade doujin shooters, have undertaken an interesting project. They've just released a fan-remixed Espgaluda AST. Rather a nifty item, though it's difficult to determine how one is suppose to go about buying it. Click the wing icons for music samples. Thanks to Click-Stick for finding this.
Samurai Spirits Zero has been delayed from june 24th to a generic 'july.' But on the brighter side, you can check out the japanese box art while you're weeping.
Edit: apparently the date has been narrowed down to the 29th of July.
Manga King is releasing the catalog for games at the next Comiket. Comiket, for those who don't know, is the fan-made game, comic and anything-fest that takes place seasonally. And as with all things in japan, you have to buy the catalog. It's being released on the 17th of July (2300 yen), with a cheaper (1800 yen) CDR to follow on the 24th. Thanks to our lady of Zepy for the news.
Drew Cosner has done it again! Running through the streets of tokyo, sporting a shirt that would get you mauled (or at least branded a long-hair) in the US, he takes the letters column to new heights of lowness. Engage your something.
Can't say much about this, but the question needs to be asked - would you or your unwashed compatriots purchase a US localized PC doujin game (or double-pack thereof) in the $20~30 price range? Take this poll and let me know. Vote honestly! And let those commie buddies of yours know as well - the poll should accept un-registered votes.
Lawrence has got a couple of nice pieces up on PC Engine clones. Here's a maybe-official korean version, which looks quite nice. here are two chinese clones that look not-nice. Both interesting reads!
Doujin circle Zenryoku has got an interesting fighter in the works - Anime Tenchou Battle Live. Perhaps even more interestingly, they've regrouped the original voice cast for the game. That's quite a feat!! Thanks again to Zepy. His situation is slightly changed, and now he updates frequently. So go read his site all of the time.
Play It has put up the cover for 1945 Arcade Version for PS2. It is looking even more likely that this is truly the Psikyo game we've been hoping it was for the last seven-or-so months of it's mysterious 'coming soon' status.
Nippon Ichi is making an imode (cellphone) game called Mugen keitai Disgaea, and this one looks to be completely original. The system uses cards, and allows you to attach the body parts of other characters for various attribute enhancements. Thanks to Zepy for the news.
Frontwing has a new game in the works - Sorauta. And it finally has a page. Gaze upon the splash screen of non-H-ness! The game is coming out in August for PC DVD - 9,240 yen. Don't get the wrong idea - CG+H scene-ARI.
Able Corp tells us that Chaos Field is set for a June 24th release on Naomi GD rom. KOF Neowave should be coming in the latter half of July, as is VF4 Final Tuned.
Capcom has put up an official page for Capcom Fighting Jam. Check the site for images and...stuff. The game is planned for arcade, PS2 and Xbox. Preorders can be done here.
XS Games is going to be bringing the PS2 version of Shikigami no Shiro II to the US. If you can't recall, here's how the first port came out. They're translating the title directly this time (Castle Shikigami II), so perhaps the game will fare better. Might be a good idea to make use of their 'contact' form just in case.
Lots of new stuff since the last Play Asia update. On the new game front, there are preorders up for the limited edition of the Street Fighter III: 3rd ps2 pack, complete with superplay DVD and jigsaw puzzle. The PSOne remake of Black Matrix 00 is out as well, with revamped graphics, minigames and cinemas. And the Border Down 2nd Soundtrack is out too.
In toy news, check out the stuff here. Pickmin 2 puzzle e-cards, Macross 2 figures and Famicom Gashapons.
The webmaster of Gameonline has been arrested, according to this 1up article. Because of the closure, many fan news sites in japan have become text only. This news will not affect us, as we never post scans to begin with (that should explain some un-answered link request mails as well).
Sammy warned Sega that they would buy them out completely should they not turn their business around within a certain amount of time. According to Bloomberg Japan, they made good on that.
The legendary FAQ maker Kao Megura has died, ending his long commitment to making our lives easier in games. Check gamefaqs for more details, and how to contact his family.
The new jersey gridcore outfit Discordance Axis did an interview back in 2000 linking Treasures games to the grindcore scene. Rather an interesting read if you've never seen it. Give a look here. Thanks to Meyers for the link.
VIA and MoMA (the Ministry of Mobile Affairs) have announced a new handheld - it's called the Eve. Big specs, XP architecture, doesn't bend, won't fit in your pocket. Check out some images here.
More of the odd full-body cosplay you've come to be aroused/disgusted by - right here. Lots of SNK 'gals' for your viewing (dis)pleasure. Thanks to Rockman Pocket for the news.
T4 Funeral is a German Turrican remake for the PC. Soundtrack and graphics have all been re-designed, but the game is based on T2002 engine, which is worth checking out.
Atlus is re-releasing Disgaea on May 25th - and as a bonus, any Disgaea registration card you send in after that date will win you an 8-page art book from the original artists. Check the site for the press release.
Gish is a nifty platformer that uses momentum to get around...it was one of the finalists in the GDC independent game compo back in march. Check out the demo and some shots. Thanks to Ryan Newman for the link.
Our E3 conditions were not ideal this time round. Much more stuff is coming, but it'll likely roll out slowly within the week. Further, posting may be difficult in the next week as vincent and myself will be away from 'the office' for several days. We shall do our best. And as always, at insert credit it's better late than awful.
Josh has written up the first half of his report on the Taiwan Game Pavilion at E3. Herein he covers XPEC's new titles Hello Kitty: Mission Rescue and Daemon Vector.
The first Konami reports from Vincent. He covers the shooting angle - Gradius V and Neo Contra. Not quite the 2nd coming of Shock Troopers, but it's near to The Point.
Short preliminary report on KOF: Maximum Impact and Metal Slug Advance. In brief: neither one is done, but neither one is particularly bad. So...that's rather promising.
Capcom has announced a new 2D fighting conflagration. This one is Capcom vs Capcom though. Not a bad arrangement. Until more info can be gathered from the show floor, check out a report on...The Madman's Cafe. The Professor comes out of retirement again!
Nintendo's press conference was not a bad place to be if you wanted to look at shiny games. It wasn't a bad place to be if you wanted to see pie charts either. Brandon has the stuff.
Edit: Link works now. A little sleepy there, Brandon? -V. Yes....extremely!! -B.
Nokia's pre-show conference took place in a room lit exclusively through red gel. It was a surreal experience - perhaps moreso for those that got a bit too friendly with the bar. Vince has a report, and so does brandon. That's just how the world works.
Edit: Josh lays down his impressions, as well as a few more choice photos of girls chained to QDs.
Game Watch has put up some screens and info for Guilty Gear Isuka, including a shot of the boost mode. There will be cows. Game Watch also finds it quite interesting that in the beat 'em up mode, you can not only move left and right, but up and down. The innovations never stop!!
Hudson has been putting up Tengai Makyou minigames for a long time now. But only recently did they put up a shooter. Thus, the linking. There are five minigames so far, and the newest is at the bottom. Amusement ensues.
The FreeOn site (Korean bluetooth handheld) is under construction again, to relaunch on June first. If they're at E3, we'll let you know what they're up to.
Carnival, the latest Groover-published H-AVG, has been updated with an opening theme. It's rather nice, but is marginally not work safe, so I shan't direct link, only point you to the download section.
The Earthwell site has been renewed, so Mitodokebito is not on hiatus. If you've not checked the game and opening, you might want to. Very impressive for a doujin PC AVG.
Chrono Trigger Resurrection is a fan remake of Chrono Trigger, as the name implies. The game is being redone in 3D...a demo is currently planned for Christmas (assuming they're allowed to progress). Check the media section for concept art, 3D in-game shots and some mp3s. An ambitious project to be sure.
Neopong (makers of the yet-to-be-released shooter World Reborn) have got an official page up for their new RPG, code named Project DA. The nice thing about it is that they're asking for user input while making the game. Check the neopong forums to vote in some polls, and enter a few contests they've got going. Rather a nice way to make a user-friendly RPG the first time through.
e-capcom has released info on the PS2 extras for the limited version of Street Fighter III: 3rd strike. There will be a mook (compiled from two Gamest works), a combo superplay DVD, and an akiman 300 piece illustration puzzle. No price on that yet, but it's planned for a July release. Thanks to nikaiten for the link.
A bit more info has been released regarding Guilty Gear Isuka via m-land. The 4-player gameplay will not be limited to 2-on-02, but also 3-on-1, co-op vs play with the computer, etc (co-op with the computer is the only new bit). And the side-scrolling mode will be known as GG Boost Mode. New characters are mentioned, but it's unclear whether these will be the new ones from the arcade, or exclusive to the PS2. IGGY proposes that it will probably just be Kliff, Justice and Robo Ky.
This here's a voxel-style 3D rendition of the classic metroid. Very Amiga-esque to look at, and a bit tougher to play, but both elements sort of add to the charm. There's a really nice explanation of the technology and methods used, and the idea is that this could be done to other games as well. Indeed, if you check his other demos, you'll find Zelda, Super Mario RPG and others in various stages of completion. Nice stuff. Thanks to K-J N. for the link.
Tim/Firefly has put up a bit more info regarding the compiling and execution of ecard homebrews. Perhaps more importantly, he's put up a few more homebrew samples for your educational use. Rock.
Tapland has a nifty contest up for home made Tapwave Zodiac cradles. Unfortunately the submission phase is over, but you can vote. Some interesting work in there, from pens, to cardboard, to bottles and cans.
Twin Galaxies, official videogame scorekeeper for the universe, plans to open a videogame amusement park in Boise Idaho. The emphasis would be on competitions, but there is also to be a museum of classic gaming, and over 20,000 titles ready for play on site. A tough thing to pull off in an unusual location, but more power to them, I say. Check a report in the Idaho Statesman for a bit more info.
Another nifty item utilizing the Jaguar CD encryption key - a collection of rare betas/demos/source files for the jag - the Jaguar Extremist pack 3. It's limited to 100, so if you're interested, don't waste time.
A few days old, but the Shining World site is fully open now. There are links to the new games - Shining Tears looks especially nice, exclusively utilizing our old friend the second dimension. The game uses an interesting partner system - the player controls two characters, using their powers to chain attack in a sort of action-strategy style. Hope for good things.
Just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has donated in the last few days. It has very much helped us to not die, which is something we value highly. You are all nice people.
NES belt buckles are not impossible to make yourself. But for the lazy, here's the easy way: buy one. These NES belt buckles have a lifetime guarantee, and it's...rather difficult not to want one. They also have a Link trucker hat. That's a wide range of products, folks! Thanks to Juan for the link.
Last week Capcom held a fighting game focus group in SF. Some impressions of the event can be found here, but the gist of it is that they were polling for interest in 3D fighters, and showing some concept art. By and large the consensus seemed to be that they should stick with 2D.
More character profiles are up in both the KOF: Maximum Impact and KOF Neowave pages. Odd artwork for Neowave, and odd roster for Maximum Impact. Should be interesting stuff, come E3.
Looks like sega is finally bringing Spikeout to a console - Xbox, to be specific. This news from Quiter, among others. Hopefully they'll also bring the sequel out in due time.
State Magazine was an odd piece of a newsletter/forum-spawn/mag hybrid that Mathew Kumar; Scottish bloke mildly affiliated with insert credit calls "good". To quote directly: "I like it!" So there you have it. The mag is now defunct, but the entire archives have been uploaded to the supplied link. Go give it a look.
Pacmanhattan, if you've not seen it yet, is a live-action game of Pac Man using the streets of Manhattan as the grid. It's a graduate project by students at NYU's Interactive Telecom department. Give it a look - there are videos and everything.
Pixelships is a nifty homebrew shooter from the Canadian basement-dweller Gemini. The first game is in version 1.8, with a sequel on the way, but here's the basic idea. It's a collection-based shooter, with a gallery of 160+ enemies to collect, some of which are later playable. Not a bad concept, and a very small download, so give it a go. Thanks to Mark for the link.
Two competitions have just ended, and have the results available for download. One is GBAX 2004, with some really impressive results. GBA and GP32 showings were very strong - highlights include a Card Fighters Clash port for GBA, and a Megadrive emu for GP32. The other competition was the Tomak Compo for GP32 only. There's a Metal Slug port, a fighter, and some other interesting originals.
In Korean homebrew news, Mad Tea Time has got a demo up for their visually impressive slasher Insane Night. Hit the first "(Click!!)" link for the demo.
Last but not least, there's an interview with New Media Online up at GP32 News. They're the fellows bringing the GP32 to Italy.
This is one of the cooler toy pack-ins I've seen - Famicom Game Sound Museum. This little box contains some yogurt candy, and a mini-cd with some tracks from one of twenty volumes of classic famicom game bgm. Games included (randomly) are Super Mario Bros, Balloon Fight, Donkey Kong, Ice Climber, Zelda, and Metroid among others. Eight bucks.
Another update from yesterday; Famitsu has a small article on the Xenosaga Freaks disc (puzzle mode, Xeno encyclopedia and Xeno II demo). Therein you'll find a picture of the aforementioned KOS-MOS swimsuit bonus. You can order the Xenosaga Freaks disc at play asia. Hot android action.
Everyone's favorite Zepy has sent me a scan of the Leaf newsletter - the one that contains the Tears to Tiara pics. Click the pic for a larger version - and yes, they were originally black and white.
Note: while our general policy is not to link or host scans, an exception was made here, given the fact that these are expressly for the purpose of the game's promotion.
Deep in the heart of somewhere (and yet nowhere), locked away in a warehouse, the Super Dreamcast awaits it's E3 debut - or so this site would have us believe. Pretty clearly not real, but rather fun to think about even so. Thanks to beto's mmcafe bbs post for the link.
Midway has acquired the rights to release Shadow Hearts 2 in the US and UK - this is the sequel to one-time SNK affiliate sacnoth/nautilus' PS2 RPG for one-time SNK overlord Aruze. Complicated, but true. In other Midway news, they've another all-console Midway Arcade Treasures in the works, this time with three Mortal Kombats, Arch Rivals, NARC and Total Carnage among others.
Leaf has released their fan newsletter, and announced that they'll soon be creating an H-SRPG, for release in summer 2004 in a 7,500 yen DVD. Tears to Tiara is the name, and apparently there are screens floating about - can't find them, currently. Drop me a line if you've seen them.
A Xenosaga 2 demo has been released. Apparently not much has changed, but a save game from Xeno 1 will allow you to play as Kos-Mos in a swimsuit (though this is not possible in the demo). So says Zepy.
Sony Music Entertainment is bringing out a Samurai Spirits OST box, if this amazon japan preorder page is correct. There are to be five discs, so one could assume this to be SS 1~5 (or possibly 1~4+RPG, but that's more of a stretch). 8,800 yen with a july 7th release. Thanks to nikaiten for the news.
Yahi has created a (fake) fighter based on the Busou Renkin manga. It'd be nicer if it were real, rather than a shallow parody. Thanks to Holiday's mmcafe bbs post for the link.
Sega's odd card/RPG/medal redemption game Dragon Treasure apparently sold well enough to warrant a sequel. Dragon Treasure 2 is planned for July, according to river service. Thanks to nikaiten for the news.
Dimps now has an official page for The Rumblefish, even though it's been out for a good long while. New wallpapers and whatnot. Thanks to Rid for the news.
