2:19 pm - In Houston in a couple weeks...
Thursday, March 25 - Leave Providence in the morning to New Orleans. Some party til 10 that I have to attend basically kills my night. But at least it's free. Friday, March 26 - In NOLA all day, flying to Houston and getting in around 7:30. Saturday, March 27 - Houston Sunday, March 28 - Flight to NOLA then to Providence leaves in the morning.
2:13 pm - Uh oh...decision time.
So yea...I was offered the job in Rhode Island today. Some things were good, other things (money) weren't what I hoped, but I think there's some negotiation that could take place. Haven't said whether or not I'll accept.
3:19 pm - Rhode Island calling...
The lady posting the position in RI called wanting some additional info, including some contact info for my manager. Seems pretty nice, hopefully I'll hear something from Nancy (my boss) on how their conversation went and then another callback.
***sidenote: on the phone with the UK and Australia right now...damn Aussie women have hot accents. Can't repeat that enough.
7:37 am - B-day Goodness
Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes, it was a good one. I'm sore as hell from all the wild orgies, but it was worth it!
7:21 am - Brush with history
Stood in line for a few hours to meet and get a couple of baseballs autographed by Ralph Branca and Bobby Thomson. For those that don't recognize the names, they are the pitcher and the batter involved in the Shot Heard 'Round the World. Also known as the 1951 National League Championship series, Game 3, between the New York (baseball) Giants and Brooklyn Dodgers in which Thomson hit a bottom-of-the-9th inning home run to win the pennant.
On an interesting side note, there was an older gentleman a couple of people behind me, about 5'7" or 8", white hair, white beard, who looked incredibly familiar (and was really nice, by the way). Then it finally hit me (as well as a couple other people around me) that it was George Parnham (pic below), defense attorney for Andrea Yates, and also for the more recent murder of a cheating dentist when the deceased's wife backed over him with a car.
