Sad day here in St. Louis Jack Buck, the broadcaster who in nearly five decades behind the microphone became a St. Louis institution and one of the most recognizable voices in sports, died late Tuesday night Im not big on sports, but I did speak with him on the phone, when working for the Paralyzed Veterans of America, Gateway Chapter. He did alot of work for them, he was emcee for thier annual golf tournament, and helped out with other functions. Theres all kinds of tributes for him on the radio today, people calling in, most everyone in St. Louis has thier own "Jack Story". Also Rich Barklage passed away around noon today, they are saying he has a massive heart attack after landing the helicopter, he was a traffic reporter, who took the place of his older brother Allen barklage passed away about 3 years ago, in a helicopter he had built himself. (if im remembering correctly) Rich Barklage passed away today just a few hundred feet from where his brother died. I can't find any info on Rich except here but they don't give any information. |

friends of friends has to be the coolest thing since the directory :o) yup, so if you end up on my list...thats where you came from :o) lol havent added any from there so far, but i just opened it and started looking :o) not a whole lot going on, going to a bbq tomorrow for most of the day, then i need to pick up the house a bit having a bbq at my house on monday, should be a busy fun weekend, hope everyone has a good one and don't eat too much bbq! |
