I wrote an entry and realized it was really boring. Thus, I've decided
to start over with a list, since most of what I have to say is not
worth spending a paragraph on tonight.
- We went to another tango lesson this evening. Chris said
something about feeling like he was actually dancing after they taught
us a new step. He's just lucky that he's got me for a partner,
since that particular pattern is easy for the lead and difficult for
the follow. Hee. After the class, we went to pick up our
vegetables for the first time in a few weeks (the snow set things back
at the farm and they had to take a break) and then we went to Safeway
to grab some rainbow sherbet for my throat.
- I forgot to write about the Oscar nominations. I'm pleased
with the number of nominations that RotK got--although I would have been
much happier if one of them had been an acting nod, of course.
- My new desk is a cat magnet.
Hopefully they won't knock over the bamboo.
- Tomorrow is my mom's last day of work at the job she hates.
Stupid job. Hooray for it being over! After she's done,
we're going to tea at a friend's house who we met while we were in
Holden, so that should be pleasant.
- I think I've decided on which tango shoes I want. Or at
least I've decided that I'm having my mom order them tomorrow, so I
have to be decided. If only I could afford two pairs, then it'd
be easy.
- I seem to have successfully avoided eating the Snickers that I
brought back from Safeway. The Twix, however, did not make it
farther than the car, though I've decided that I much prefer
Newman's Own peanut butter cups. Dark Chocolate ones. Mmmm.

Well, last night we went to IKEA to double-check prices on the furniture we were looking at for the office so that we could think about it fully-informed. We, of course, ended up walking out of there having bought it all. It will hopefully all be delivered tomorrow, so we've been cleaning the office all day, trying to get everything (and I mean everything) out so that we can put in the new furniture tomorrow. That's a big job, considering the office has been home to everything that didn't fit anywhere else in our home up until now. Unfortunately, we're putting in a great deal of shelving that needs to be stained before it can be assembled, so this will be a multi-day task even after the stuff is delivered tomorrow. Also, since we're replacing the desk, I will be computer-less for the greater part of tomorrow. I guess that's not too horrible since like today, I'll be too busy to be online anyway. I thought I'd be able to get on for the evening tonight, but I'm just now taking a break after shopping and then working all day. Anyway, if you're wondering where I've disappeared to, I'm lost in the land of assembly-required furniture.

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"
He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.
And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.
"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.
`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe. |
