Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, flanked by deputy Prime Minister Ehud Olmert (L) and cabinet Secretary Yisrael Maimon, informs his cabinet he is determined to evacuate all Gush Katif settlements by the end of 2005 and that he had ordered work to begin on the disengagement project.

Sharon Looks To His Left To Salvage Government TEL AVIV – Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said Monday that he might have no choice but to form a national unity government with the Left.

“It doesn’t seem that I will get far with the present coalition,” Sharon said Monday night following a no-confidence motion that was narrowly defeated thanks to the Labor Party’s safety net.
