He's Back (?)
John O'Shea seeks BOE, sources say

Former school board member John O'Shea - "O'Shady" by those who know him best - is aching to get back on the school board, some people believe.

PLUS, I can reveal that some unidentified people have been "pressuring" the Gazette-Leader newspaper to publish something unfavorable, (yet untrue), about me.

I'M BACK!

So tell your friends.

After many months of posting virtually nothing on this space, I have decided to come back.

I thought this site would be an ignored wasteland by now, but you people just keep on coming back. So what the hey – I’ll join you.

I have an excuse for my absentia. Several, actually. Classes (which went horribly), working at the Newark Observer, and (successfully) passing the school budget. Plus R&R;, and that don’t mean DaHiller.

Anyway, I’ll be posting stuff on the Hillside cops, the school budget and upcoming referendum, Gov McG’s make-believe effort to reform property taxes, Hillside news and events, and the always entertaining elections at our neighbor’s, Elizabeth.

I’ll update at least once a week. (I know I’ve said this line once before, but really I promise this time.)

Sergio.

Hillside in the News

Jason Jett reports: Hillside widow to fight snow removal ticket.

The township is quick to pounce on a 70-year-old woman (who lives two streets over from me) for not having her snow shoveled immediately after a blizzard. Funny, though, how it took the township a considerable amount of time before coming and plowing the snow of my street. If the town gets to fine people for not shoveling, what then do the people get if the town does not plow – their tax money back?
