23 May, 2004 Paris, France I'm in America! Well, Connecticut. It's green and muggy here. And it's my first time in The Preppy State. I'm at Rue Madame's house. Terence is cooking dinner, Martine's chatting on the phone and leafing through French fashion magazines. And me, I have my own bathroom and two twin beds. It's pure preppy luxury. Tomorrow we head into Manhattan because Martine has never been to Barney's or Bendels (can you imagine?!!!) and I am just the girl to break her in. I have a meeting with a mean editor and an appointment with a nice hairdresser. Then it's the 2 hour Swan season finale party that I'm hosting at Dale's. (If I can stay awake that late). I'm so tired of travelling. In the last 48 hours, I've been in 3 time zones, 3 countries, two states, taken shuttles, metro, subway, underground, bus and airplanes. (btw Never fly American ever) And everywhere I go the Discovery channel seems to have documentaries on either brain or eye surgeries that happen to be on right before I fall asleep. So I keep waking up in unfamiliar beds, drenched in sweat and cowering from dream scalpels that are coming at me from oblique angles. God it's fun to be a jet setter.
