I guess I should update this thing every now and then . Not a whole lot going on right now - just work. I have been working around 45 hours each week. This week will be about 50 or so. That's what happens when you get promoted :) I can't complain - time and a half is great! I will be kicking myself come Friday night, though. That would be it. I have such a boring life! I need to get out more! I feel like I'm 80 years old, not the young 22 that I am! Current Mood: blah |

Romans 12:20 "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head."
I just thought that was funny. |

This evening sucked big donkey balls. After closing up the clinic and getting started on our nightly chores, one of the tecks noticed that one of the cats had gotten its E-collar halfway off. It was munching away at the collar because it was now jammed in its mouth. Then starts our 30 minute ordeal of getting the collar back on. Several major problems...1.it's a fairly wild cat 2.it's a huge cat (18 lbs) 3.it has a catheter and in not very happy 4.it's an easily stressed cat. 5.it tries to attack anything that comes near it. Well, after many attemps at covering its face with a towel.. which the cat attacks, we manage to cover its face long enough for someone to grab it and sorta restrain it. We get the collar off while trying to stay away from teeth. Now the hard part comes - getting it back on properly! Well, with two people holding this cat down, we make many attempts. All fail because the cat just keeps biting the collar. So, we deside to take a fecal loop and use that as bait. Get the cat to bite the fecal loop from the other side of the collar so his mouth will be shut while we push the collar on. It works!!! Next thing was to get the collar tied back on so he can't pull it off again. The reason he had the collar on to begin with was because he has a catheter. It was to keep him from pulling out the catheter. Anyway, I get it the tube looped through the holes on the collar and one of the techs tied it up. Then we had to get the mat that the cat sits on back underneath him. Meaning we had to pick the demon cat up. After a few struggles we get it. We quickly move back and let the cat go - then quickly shut the cage door. Son-of-a-bitch - the catheter came out during the struggle!! All of that hell for nothing! And there was no way of getting it back in! Let me tell you, we weren't exactly bored tonight! Anyway, I need to get to bed because i have to be at the hospital at 7 am! Current Mood: exhausted |

Wow, I am really tired! I worked 14 hours yesterday, with no breaks...not even a lunch break. I was taking bites in between phone calls. It really sucks. I will be doing that every Tuesday from now on. You would think that I would have the next day off, right? Wrong. I get to go to work today! Tomorrow I have to work 12 hours straight. I will have to work Friday, too. I am just not getting a break this week! Hopefully Chris will make Friday special. Current Mood: drained |

today is my day or rest! I have had such a hard week. Monday, I worked from 7am-7pm, no breaks - not even for lunch. Tuesday, same thing, 7am-7pm. I was in our Kenner Clinic both days. You work alone there and do all of the receptionist work. It wouldn't have been so bad if we hadn't been fully booked the entire day. Well, Wednesday, I was in out Metairie Clinic from 1pm-8pm. There is normally two receptionists because of the number of clients we have there. It gets pretty busy even for two people. Well, the other girl didn't come in, so I was alone. Yikes.. that was no fun! Thrusday, I was in the Kenner Clinic from 7am-7pm. I am drained! Current Mood: drained |

I LOVE BATH AND BODY WORKS!!! I just got back from the mall- spent about 5 hours there! Most of the time was spent in Bath and Body Works. I got about $175 worth of merchandise for $29.50 my cost. It would have been $54.50, but I had a $25 gift certificate! (Thanks Courtney and Rusty!) They were having a big sale and I just had to take advantage of it! Well, anyway, I have to take my dogs outside! Current Mood: giddy |

Do you ever just sit around and wonder how things would have turned out if you would have just done a few things differntly? Well, I do. Like what would have happened if I hadn't posted an ad while i was in Germany, I may have never met Chris. But because I was bored, I did. That one moment led to me meeting the man I married. If I had just decided to not go into school early that morning, I may have never posted that ad. Where would I be right now if I hadn't got my ass out of bed early? It's strange to think that everything you do plays a big part in how your life unfolds. Another example: Leia. What would have happened to Leia if I hadn't told my landlord her story. If he hadn't rescued a dog years earlier, he may not have allowed us to take her in. She very well could have been put to sleep. A life gone. It's amazing how life works. Now Leia has a wonderful home with us. She is being loved and spoiled. Current Mood: thankfulCurrent Music: Avril Lavigne - Complicated |

I am so freakin bored. There is nothing for me to do. I think the dogs are starting to get used to each other a little bit. Ginger is growling less and Leia is just starting to ignore her. Leia still isn't comfortable enough to eat much. She ate the first night while we were sleeping, but hasn't had a meal since. She ate a tiny bit last night. She eats lots of treats, though. She chews on the rawhide bone, too. It's so exciting to have a new dog. It's deffinately work, though - especially since we have had Ginger as an only child for over 2 years. She isn't used to sharing the attention. As time goes on, I think she'll adjust. She has to realize that Leia isn't taking her place, just joining her.
