Burning Bright

I hope everyone likes orange and red, because the two new color schemes for the default skin are very orange (Firebird) and very red (Embers).

I've also reorganized the skin/colors system slightly. Now color schemes for a particular skin are grouped under the name of the skin. Also, clicking on the name of the skin will load the skin with the default color scheme. Only one skin is currently offered, so this isn't all that relevant yet, but it does give me some future flexibility.

Enjoy.

Into the Night

Most everything is now back. The only things missing are the cel gallery, which wasn't doing much besides eating up disk space, and the subsites, which weren't doing anything period.

None of the old themes will be reappearing anytime soon, but there are now two new--and arguably better--themes to fill the gap. Blue Beyond will remain the default because it is legible across an extensive gamma range, while Into the Night is better suited to display devices with gamma responses of 2.6 or less.

Enjoy.

The vast majority of what is written below has now been rendered irrelevant. Most of the site has also been blown away. Don't worry, all two of you, it will return, although probably not in the same form as before. In the meantime, I'm keeping the link page live as a gesture of good faith towards those who link to me simply because I link to them.

The new theme I've been working on for the past month has finally gone live. This new theme is very blue. Consider yourself warned. Look for a dark variant sometime in the near future as well.

A new wallpaper can also be had from the usual place.

I finally managed to work up the motivation to fiddle with the site and bring things current. I fixed some things that needed fixed, and broke some things that needed breaking. I also posted a new wallpaper in the Machine subsection.

Grind

The Winter holidays are over and now it is time for millions across the country to head back to the grind. School starts for me in five days. Of course, the initial orientation wasted no time in reminding me just why I hate school. It isn't the teachers or the curriculum or the homework or the studying. What I truly hate is the other students, especially the chatty, bubbly ones.

Anyway, now that the holidays are over it's also time to cycle the wallpaper. You can get the latest in the Machine subsection.

It's Christmas time again. That means it's time for rampant commercialism, annoying Christmas carols, and even more annoying relatives. Yay. I have a Christmas wallpaper up to take the edge off if anyone is interested.

Gamma and Stuff

The color themes "Light + Color" and "Dark + Color" have been ditched because they sucked. Hopefully nobody misses them. That leaves "Classic Light" and "Classic Dark". The light theme is the default because it is readable with both properly and improperly configured gamma ramping. The dark theme is nigh on unreadable with any gamma response greater than 2.6 or so. Optimally this site should be viewed with a gamma of anywhere between 2.2 and 1.6. Go here to properly configure your system's gamma response. Keep in mind that the sRGB standard is 2.2, while most graphic people like to use 1.8.
