This Sunday, CMU is showing 'The Manson Family' by Ohio native/ cult-favorite Jim Van Bebber.
it is at 8, 10, and 12pm.
It features a soundtrack by Download, and is only $1 with CMU id or $3 without.
it should be pretty neat.

This coming weekend @ Ceremony [20 Jan 2005|07:05am]
terrorfirmasky
This coming Saturday hire a team of sled dogs or charter a plane with Admiral Byrd and make it out to Ceremony to see DJ's the Nightshift with special guest DJ Candyblades!

Yes, satisfy your sweet tooth and the need to hurt yourself as well as your cravings for good music. DJ Candyblades has promised to deliver a great mix of goth, death rock, 80's, darkwave, glam rock, industrial, and more. Plus, DJ Ancilla (master of the 7 deadly arts) and myself (master of the 7 deadly sandwiches) will be on hand to show you how the Eskimos keep warm.

On a side note, for those of you who dig stuff like powernoise, IDM, and various other kinds of experimental music, come out early because that's when stuff like that gets played. I've got some new tracks lined up by; Proyecto Mirage, Hypnoskull, Winterkalte, Placid, and more.

THE SYNTHETIC DREAM FOUNDATION!!! [07 Jan 2005|02:57pm]

rivetgirlie
The synthetic dream foundation is probably my favorite new school band, and finally after several months of silence, they have a new song posted on their website! Anyone who is interested in aggressive, and experimental styles of electronic music should definitely go download it immediately, as the song is pure brilliance! Its called "Plasma ring" and is an experimental EBM dance monster, with old school industrial sound elements. Its probably their "clubbiest" song ever, so I hope some local DJs take note, as I would LOVE to dance to this song on a loud sound system. You can grab this track from their site at

*I am aware that Placebo is not entirely British, though they are 1/2 UK (drummer is English and Brian Molko is half Scottish) and are based there. A somewhat loose definition of "British" will be enforced so as to allow bands from Ireland, Scotland, the Shetland Islands, and the Isle of Man to count, as well as the Legendary Pink Dots.

Inter-city Ceremony exchange [03 Jan 2005|07:19pm]

strange_quark
Since I'm on winter break in Boston and mentioned to [info]fugbug that I was free, he scheduled me to DJ the 9-10pm hour tonight at Ceremony Boston. Since my set starts in about an hour and a half, it's a little late to try to catch it (:p), but I'll post the playlist in this post after the night is over and y'all can be like, damn. It's possible (although I did not get around to calling him) that founding Night Shift member Michael Salo will be there, in which case I will tell interested parties all about our encounter.

Update: No Salo. Here's the setlist. )
