The Beatles - Tell Me What You See |
] |
On Sunday six of us from school went to race the car we've been making for the greenpower competition, which sounds cooler than it is. ('Car' is probably a bit of an ambitious word to use.) How did we do? Basically I just wanted to post this picture. XD
We plan to have it mounted on the wall at school. =D
Tomorrow I'm going to Antigua for two weeks, so I won't be around the computer. *sniff* Of course, usually at these places there's an internet cafe of sorts, but I don't want to jinx myself by saying there will be.
Also, I need to stop buying more Beatles CDs. I have enough dammit! ...Next I'll get Rubber Soul. >_>
I have to go and finish packing and go to bed since we're up at five tomorrow. Gah. *frantically tries to finish checking all the websites she's on*

The Beatles - Within You Without You |

I feel I should post about the geography trip, if only because I'll look back on it and laugh madly. So we spent a lot of time wading through rivers and running around with water balloons, but the water fights were pretty much the extent of our pranks. UNTIL. >=D While half the group was out, we put the teachers' furniture on the roof. (Their furniture, I'd like to add, was much nicer than ours.) So that was great, until one of the centre staff told us to take it off, as it might fall through the roof. Probably true, as the buildings were built in the 50s or thereabouts. So we grudgingly agreed, and rearranged it on the grass instead. Ironically, when the other group got back our geography teacher was livid, but he kids around so much that we all thought he was joking for ages. XD Which probably didn't do much to help his mood.
( Don't miss the exclusive picture! =O )

Uh oh. My mum let me have the day off school to do coursework because most of the year's on an RE trip. And the school just phoned and asked if I was ill, and I said yes, and then they said they'd need to contact my mum at work. Who will probably just tell them the truth.

The Beatles - Let it be |
] |
Whee! I have the geography field trip tomorrow! Last weekend I had the Duke of Edinburgh expedition where we had to carry everything, so I didn't pack much. So I'm making up for it this time by packing everything I can find. =D Such as this water-heater I found in the cupboard. *holds it up proudly* (Apparently another school stole all the kettles at the place we're going, so now I can make myself cupa soups. XD) I also dug out all my old CDs to find some to take, so me, my brother and my dad have been playing "guess the Beatles song by the introduction". Yeah. We're cool.
There's a tradition of having a prank war on the geography field trip, and naturally I only thought of a decent idea (okay, somebody gave me the idea) too late. But out teacher hates the Ipswich football team with the passion, so the plan was to replace all his shirts with a single Ipswich shirt. *cackles* Problem is, none of us have an Ipswich football shirt.
On a slightly related note (Fine, a totally unrelated note. I did try.), I was looking through my second Kodocha manga to find something, and ended up reading the whole series again. Ah, I really love it. Score one for Funimation for licensing the anime! *waits with money* ... now please realease it. ;__;
Anyway, tomorrow I'm off on a five-hour coach journey of trading pokemon with my friend. =D Goodbye all.

Pretear - White Destiny |
] |
Today I got home to find a parcel from jpqueen on my doorstep. This caused me to freak out because: A) I HAVE MANGA! Woohoo! B) They'd been sitting in the rain all day and the package was practically disintigrated. XD
But thanks to the miracle of plastic wrapping, everything was fine and I didn't decide to sue the postman. So I have my Tsubasa 5 and my Cardcaptor Sakura 1 (Hey! It's special edition this time!) and my sappy Sakura/Syaoran doujinshi and all is well.
Ooh. And there's going to be a monthly CLAMP magazine from September. With CHESS PIECES of all their characters. *cries* Goodbye to all my money. I won't be seeing it again in a while.
And (Oi, ladymana, look over here! XD) I got the first Pretear DVD! And I love Sasame it! *plays opening on repeat* ^___^
(I finally put the wings on my Rinoa costume. This is enough to merit me using the Rinoa icon.)

Hikaru Utada - Travelling (But I only remembered to put on music seeing the current music box. XD) |
] |
Well, I got back home this morning at 2:30, which was actually earlier than we thought because the plane landed early. =D Hmm. I shall account my travels.
I bought Final Fantasy Tactics Advance for the gameboy in the airport on the way out, and spent most of the holiday playing on it. XD As expected I suck at it, but hopefully addiction will get me through it. We had a swimming pool next to where we were staying which was cold, but fun. We bought an inflatable boat to use; the kind where you think "There's no way any water could get into this one!" and then are proved very wrong. (Eg. Me jumping into the boat in the pool fully clothed and getting heavily splashed. So I try to make a hasty exit out of the pool. And fall in. XD) We also went to see things like the volcanoes (I took loads of lava so I wouldn't have to buy presents for people XD) and caves (which have a really cool optical illusion that you're not allowed to tell anyone about =P) and I spent most of my money at the airport, buying useful things like cocktail sticks with fruits on the end. o_O;
Eh, what else~ Ah yes, when we got back, we had a package from Amazon - the first and second series of Saved by the Bell. ^^ I love that show so much. XD Somebody pry me away from the TV...

Okay, so it isn´t actually all that sunny. But it doesn´t matter. (Because you can still get sunburn!)
I was going to post that I was going away, but I ... forgot. -_-; I blame it on not having packed an hour before we had to leave. XD So I´m posting from a crowded and noisy arcade internet cafe.
Let´s see ... today we went to see the volcano. If you pour a bucket of water into a hole in the ground it comes shooting up as steam. And 10cm under the ground it´s 140 degrees o_o (Centigrade. I can´t do that degrees sign on this keyboard.) If anyone wants souvenirs, I stole some lava. XD
So, yes. I´m coming back for my easter eggs on Thursday. I´m going to stop now because I´m paranoid that people are looking at what I´m writing here. o_o;
Edit: Sorry about the weird apostrophes. I have no idea how to use Spanish keyboards. XD

It's time for the weekly monthly quarterly cc_saf update! XD
I won second place in my school's website design competition. W00t! £50! (Yes, I do only care about the prize.) I can pay my dad back for what I borrowed from him for Minami. XD That is, if the school is going to give out the prizes anytime this year.
I'm getting my exam results back too. Teacher-bribing time! ...or maybe I should have thought of that before the exams. Pah. Betting pool on my Biology results, anyone? ._. We have 'low', 'zero' and 'minus percentage for mis-spelling your own name on the front of the paper'.
Um... *pokes DVDs* Let's see, I watched the end of Haibane Renmei. I don't want to spoil, but ... er, watch it? XD It makes me want to get the original doujinshi ... the art is so pretty. *__* Also, everybody should get Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle when it comes out, because it's ... good. (I need a thesaurus in this house.)

ACK. Hollywood ... Mew Mew. Hollywood Mew Mew. Yes, you saw that right. 4Kids has licensed Tokyo Mew Mew and will be showing it on TV, edited to oblivion, Cardcaptors-stylee. *weeps* I really liked Tokyo Mew Mew but I never downloaded the fansubs because of my connection. Does anyone know where I can get subs before they're taken down?
Conversation with my mum on 'Hollywood Mew Mew': Me: Oh God, and the names! *breaks down* The editing! I can't even begin to think about the voice actors! Mum: Mary-Kate and Ashley, I imagine.
But on a lighter note, woohoo! FFVIII doujinshi for me! *goes on a scanning frenzy*
...XD Behold my scanner! I freak out about bending back cook covers, so I set this for a very low resolution so it wouldn't take long to scan. I think I went a bit over the top. XD But it's cute, right?
Conversation number two, with dad, re: new doujinshi: Dad: *upon seeing them* Oh, those look nice. Did you get them in the post today? Me: Yep! Remind me I owe you the money for them. Dad: *picks them up* Can I have a look? Me: Um... Ye-es... Dad: *picks up the clean one* Me: So, when's tea? Dad: *picks up the very-slightly-yaoi one* Me: *snatch* Anyway now you've looked did I tell you about Tokyo Mew Mew?

Plan for last weekend:
- Saturday morning/afternoon: Take train into Ipswich, meet people, do all Christmas shopping.
- Saturday evening: See school production.
- Sunday: Mass Lord-of-the-Rings-watching at my house before Return of the King comes out. Eat junk food together.
- Varying intervals throughout weekend: Finish English essay.
Actual version of events:
- Status: Completed. However, did not manage to buy Christmas presents.
- Status: Cancelled. Essay MASS PANIC. (Okay, I was panicking.)
- Status: Cancelled. Many people backed out. Junk food eaten by me. Spent day wearing Suppi costume instead.
- Status: Handed in, but content not completed. Hoping my teacher won't notice.
Conclusion: It is not a good idea to plan many things over a short period of time when you normally have uneventful and boring weekends. They won't happen.
Well, now I've had my fun with lists, I'll type normally. XD Tomorrow I'm having my first Japanese lesson at the university. I'm really looking forward to it ^__^ Although knowing me I'll tell my teacher I know the basics and screw up when she asks my name. XD
Four more days of school! I can make it! *strikes victory pose* ...I think.

Gaah. Nine more days until the end of school x__x It's been a really long term and I'm just kind of losing the will to work. I messed up a Chemistry test on Monday and I have a Physics one tomorrow that I'm not exactly looking forward to either. Not to mention the English coursework essay that's in on Friday (can be stretched to Monday, I hope...) that I've written two lines for. XD
I also have to raise money for World Challenge, but that'll be fun! *convinces herself* It's an expedition to Thailand for a month in the summer of 2005. We get to trek through the jungle, stay in the national parks, visit the schools there, etc. It's going to be so great ^____^ And the whole raising £2700 thing'll be easy! >___>
Anyway, there was my entry about nothing. I'm sure I'll remember that I actually had something to say later. Must sign off and get much-needed sleep. Yes.

See the icon? Heh, I like it. 'Tis one of the cooler pictures of Rinoa. Well, it was until I chopped it up so you can only see a tiny bit of it XD
I ordered the last Cardcaptor Sakura DVD and the second movie. I feel kind of sad the whole series will be over once I've watched them. ;__; But life goes on. I ordered the second Haibane Renmei DVD too, so that makes me happy. ^_^

Well, the extent of my day today has been buying a new TV. Which, er, doesn't work at the moment. I've also been trying to decide whether I should weed out the garden for money, so I can go on a shopping spree on Ebay. XD (My current financial situation defines "spree" as "one trading card, if you're lucky".)
Aaa~, look! Cardcaptor Sakura wand! Need! XD
*Looks around Livejournal* Ee~, this is so exciting! XD I have to tell all my friends! First, I've got to find some friends...
