- A Texas couple was charged with trespassing on the Fourth
of July for wearing anti-Bush t-shirts at a speech by the
President in West Virginia. Although the couple, Nicole and
Jeffrey Rank, had tickets to the event, security insisted
they leave or stand in a designated protest zone. When they
refused, police detained them.
From the stage Bush said. "We're thankful that this nation
they created 228 years ago remains free and independent and
the best hope for all mankind."

Funny...

Funny...
"F___ Saddam. We're taking him out." Those were
the words of President George W. Bush, who had poked his head
into the office of National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice.
It was March 2002, and Rice was meeting with three U.S. Senators,
discussing how to deal with Iraq through the United Nations,
or perhaps in a coalition with America's Middle East allies.
Bush wasn't interested. He waved his hand dismissively, recalls
a participant, and neatly summed up his Iraq policy in that
short phrase. The Senators laughed uncomfortably; Rice flashed
a knowing smile. The President left the room.
A
year later, Bush's outburst has been translated into action,
as cruise missiles and smart bombs slam into Baghdad.

Do
as I say....not as I do!
Taken
from www.georgewbush.com on May 14, 2004:
In his 2003 State of the Union Address, President Bush told
the nation, "We will not deny, we will not ignore, we
will not pass along our problems to other Congresses, other
presidents, and other generations." He has followed through
on this commitment by delivering a bold vision that meets
America's challenges at home and abroad.
Contrary to that rhetoric, Shrub's fiscal policies have erased
the largest budget surplus in U.S. History and produced the
largest budget deficit in the shortest time in U.S. History.
In doing so, Shrub has, in fact, passed along economic and
budget problems to our children, grandchildren, and probably
our great-grandchildren as well.
The
Prime Time Interview
with Diane Sawer and Bush WMDs
vs. WMD Programs: Does It Matter?
Does
it matter whether or not Saddam’s Iraqi regime possessed weapons
of mass destruction at the time American forces invaded Iraq?
Apparently not, according to President George W. Bush’s recent
remarks on ABC News’ Primetime program.
On December 16, Primetime’s Diane Sawyer pressed the president
about earlier administration statements that Saddam Hussein
definitely had WMDs as opposed to just weapons programs. During
that segment of the interview the following interesting exchange
took place.
President Bush: "Well, you can keep asking the
question, and my answer’s gonna be the same. Saddam was a
danger and the world is better off ’cause we got rid of him."
Diane Sawyer: "But stated as a hard fact, that
there were weapons of mass destruction as opposed to the possibility
that he could move to acquire those weapons still —"
President Bush: "So what’s the difference?"
Diane
Sawyer: "Well —"
President
Bush: "The possibility that he could acquire weapons.
If he were to acquire weapons, he would be the danger. That’s
what I’m trying to explain to you."
Of
course, the administration had not just claimed that Saddam
had WMDs but that the country was practically bulging with
such weapons. The Iraqi threat was supposed to be both serious
and imminent. On April 10, in a message to the Iraqi people,
President Bush even went so far as to say that the Iraqi regime’s
"aggression and weapons of mass destruction make it a
unique threat to the world." (Emphasis added.) And privately,
the Bush administration had much more to say about the Iraqi
threat. Courtest

BBC
Blasts US Media War Coverage!
We knew it all along (you did too)....and
now the BBC has gone on record to say how right-wing, one-sided
the coverage of the war was Iraq was! Personally these Two
Unemployed Democrats were appalled and embarrassed while we
watched this so-called "coverage". LONDON (Reuters)
- U.S. broadcasters' coverage of the Iraq (news - web sites)
war was so unquestioningly patriotic and so lacking in impartiality
that it threatened the credibility of America's electronic
media, the head of the BBC said.
FACT!
Bush has presided over a 94 percent decline in the federal
budget surplus -- that's $5.3 trillion gone in the first
2 years of his term.
Hidden
Agenda
Buried
deep in the 500 page Homeland Security Bill is a provision
for what is called, "Total Information Awareness".
This provision will allow the government to collect private
information on every citizen including; passport application,
drivers license and bridge toll records, judicial and divorce
records, complaints to the FBI from nosy neighbors, hidden
camera surveillance, credit card purchases, magazine subscriptions,
medical prescriptions, every Web site you visit, every e-mail
you send or receive, all academic grades you receive, every
bank deposit you make, every trip
you make, and every event you attend.
(Thanks M.K. of PA)
Homeland Security at the price
of your civil liberties?
"My
sons are 25 and 30. They are blond-haired and blue-eyed.
One amendment today said we could not sell guns to anybody
under drug treatment. So does that mean if you go into
a black community, you cannot sell a gun to any black
person?" Rep.
Barbara Cubin (R-WY), 4/10/03
"Fleischer
argues regularly that the tax cuts are needed so that
'when the war is over, our military has jobs to come home
to.'
"The
argument has flaws. Those who serve in the military full
time need not worry about having jobs when they come home.
And under a 1994 law, employers must reinstate reservists
in similar positions when they return from service, unless
the company can document severe hardship." Dana
Milbank, Washington Post, March 26, 2003
