FAQ Question #51

» How do I delete a user picture I no longer want? What happens when I delete a user picture?

You will need to be logged in to LiveJournal (http://www.livejournal.com/login.bml). Then, visit http://www.livejournal.com/editpics.bml. Check the delete box next to the picture(s) that you no longer want. Save your changes and the picture(s) will be deleted.

User pictures are assigned to entries and comments according to their keywords. For more information about keywords, visit http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=95.

When a user picture is deleted, entries and comments that previously used the picture you deleted will show your default picture (or no picture, if you have no default picture) unless you upload a new user picture and give it the same keyword as a picture you deleted. If you give a new picture the keyword previously associated with a deleted picture, all entries and comments using that keyword will now show the new picture.
