The Berlin Thunder emerged as 30-24 winners of World Bowl XII to thwart Frankfurt's hopes of repeating as champions. They broke a 10-10 deadlock at halftime by scoring 20 points before the Galaxy got back onto the scoreboard.
The Thunder overcame five turnovers and a furious Galaxy comeback attempt in the final quarter to hold on and take their third NFL Europe League title in four years.

What they're saying about NFL Europe |
"NFL Europe helped me be in the forefront of people's minds rather than in the background. It helped me get genuine playing experience. It's a great avenue for players to go over to Europe and prove themselves because there are a lot of good players out there on the fringe with big names in front of them. All they need is an opportunity to show what they can do and NFL Europe gives them that chance."
-- Marcus Knight, wide receiver, Amsterdam Admirals (2002); Tampa Bay Buccaneers
