The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis says Fear of Hell Can Pay Off.
.. religious beliefs .. raise economic growth by spurring individual behavior and actions that are thought to encourage productivity.
Oh, this just pisses me off. I'll have to come up with a better response to this later, but for now, I'm wondering how the other Federal Reserve districts are going to top this. Maybe the Cleveland could send out an expedition to look for the Ark of the Covenant. I bet having the Ark on our side would really boost productivity.
P.S. Excellent graphic on the page !

With all this Democratic Convention love floating around, I've reconsidered my contempt towards Mr Cheney's recent outburst.
It's not inconceivable Mr Cheney's words may have been taken out of context.
For instance, maybe Mr. Cheney was just quoting Ginsberg.

Stop the exodus to the suburbs
But the only way to stop the endless proliferation of the ’burbs is to stop pretending that we live in America and have endless spare land, and start making our towns and cities much more desirable places to live in.

... giant, hit-activated, talking red, white, and blue donkey pinata.
It says... Uncle Sam wants you! God bless America! Stars & Stripes forever!
This same company also sells a teapot pinata that asks if you're a princess and tells you it loves you when you hit it. Holy crap. Maybe instead of candy this thing should be filled with child psychology session vouchers.

Someone's been having fun with the Arlington County public notice template.
The notice has been posted since at least Sunday when I photographed it to last night when I last walked by it again. I doubt it's been up since April, since I walk down the street a lot and would have noticed it before now. Worst case, it went up sometime during my vacation. I haven't seen any other notices like it in the neighborhood.
