Nominate the ?ber-blog

WaPo political reporter Dana Milbank is seeking nominations:

Political bloggers spend a lot of time criticizing the mainstream media, but it doesn't go the other way very much. I think they can be quite useful in noticing things that otherwise might fall through the cracks. My trouble is there's no time to go through all of them. Has anybody found a reliable uber-blog that gets everything?"
Obviously hasn't heard of RSS. (Via Romenesko)

Planespotting

In the oddest twist to the New York Post veepstakes cock-up story, Josh Marshall demonstrates that planespotting is a useful hobby after all. Marshall didn't run with it last night, but a reader had alerted him to a post on an aviation bulletin board from someone who had spotted Edwards decals being painted on John Kerry's airplane in a hangar at Pittsburgh International Airport. The Kansas City Star has already picked up this factoid.

Somebody is wrong

NY Post:

John Kerry has chosen Rep. Richard Gephardt, the veteran congressman from Missouri, to be his running mate, The Post has learned.

NY Times news alert (7:42 ET):

Kerry Said to Select Edwards to Be Running Mate

UPDATE: Well, obviously it was the Post that was wrong and is now having its "Dewey defeats Truman" moment over at the Smoking Gun and Romenesko.

Special relationship

A British Council poll contrasting the views of 3,121 young people with minority backgrounds in southern U.S. states with a panel of 985 students in Massachusetts and Virginia has found that many American students think Britons are introverted, arrogant bores who whip children and live in perpetual rain, reports the Press Association. Before the British media starts sneering, I should note that in my experience, many British students have similarly well-informed views of Americans.
