The most pertinent question that one must ponder is do your purple walls lean toward the red or blue end of the spectrum?

I was president of my school chess club, but I pretty much abandoned the game when I discovered the Japanese game of Go, and have never looked back. Great game, if anyone's looking to pick up a new obsession.

double,

what could "Go" possibly have over chess.

what could "Go" possibly have over chess.

Let's see ... simpler rules, but far more complex strategy. No ranking of pieces, and so an extremely good form of handicapping is possible that allows entertaining games between skilled and unskilled players. And while computers can play very high-level chess, go is so complex that the very best computer players can be beaten by rank beginners.

Plus you get to use cool-sounding Japanese words when playing. And because the game is visually appealling and not well known, in my single days a game of go on the beach was an incredible babe magnet.

Starbucks? That makes me wonder... Are you more partial to Starbucks or Coffee People? I always try to grab a cup of Coffee People when I'm back in Oregon. I was very disappointed when they left Eugene when I was in college. We had a great little network of food exchanges going on in the neighborhoods around campus that was centered around our pizza place and the Coffee People on 13th.

Mousepad? My friend, it's time to splurge and get yourself an optical mouse. Preferably, a wireless optical mouse. Logitech sells one for $60. You'll never go back.
