update #4: i can still see a lot less floor than i'd hoped for at this time of night. well, i did my best. now i'm going to go drink. | 7:22 pm |
update #3: you think you're moving along nicely, & then you open the closet... | 1:14 pm |
update #2: two hours later and my floor is still littered with things i don't know what to do with. like more cd's than cases, which confuses me so much that i need to soothe my brain by surfing the internet for a while before i can go back into my room... | 12:38 pm |
can someone tell me why my friendster inbox is suddently flooding with messages, mostly from men who are mostly from scarborough?
also: ARHGHGHGHGHGHGH i'm really! not! into! packing! i have so much stuff. soooo muuuuuch stuuuuff. | Thursday, August 26th, 2004 | 11:22 pm |
woah, meatballs is the worst movie ever. | Wednesday, August 25th, 2004 | 8:38 pm |
things i am thinking about right now: -i really want to buy a kinnie starr album. any kinnie starr album. i love her voice. -i really want jenny b to come have a sleepover with me -i really want to watch meatballs with jenny b at our sleepover, unless we do not have a sleepover, in which case i am prepared to watch meatballs alone, or with someone else -i'm really glad that they're playing the l word every day at 10pm now. so bad, it's good -i'd make a really good porn star | Monday, August 23rd, 2004 | 7:58 pm |
the other day i bought a whole mousse cake just for me. it was expensive, espeically since it wasn't that big. is that weird? i thought i deserved it because i had a really busy summer & now i'm moving. so obviously, the next step was mousse cake.
me & rookie went shopping together yesterday & we had fun. only my heart is breaking because the argyle sweater vest i wanted from club monaco is either out of stock at every location or they only have large's left. it was so depressing that the music in the store picked up on my mood & played a melancholy melody just for me.
last night i got really drunk & liz gave me the most horrible hickey on my neck. it's the absolute worst. & what sucks is that when people ask about it, i can't be like "oh yeah i had a wild wild night, if you know what i mean." i'll have to say "my friend gave it to me, for no reason really, except so i would be embarrassed." that sucks. i think we're stranger than most people.
anyway.
also, i am cat sitting for these people & they have extended cable plus all the movie channels. it's awesome. i watched lost in translation the other day & how stunningly beautiful is scarlett johansen? i'm glad i'm not friends with her. i'd just feel ugly all the time. | Tuesday, August 17th, 2004 | 12:06 pm |
soooooo, i'm going to get my hair cut sometime very soon. i sort of have an idea of what i want it to look like, but there's no way i can accurately explain it to a stylist. like, i want it to involve a lot of shaved parts, but also some longer parts so it's still feminine. i know, that doesn't make any sense right?
does anyone know of a website that has pictures of cool haircuts like that that i can look at? i suppose i could also look through those magazines like nylon & i.d. & whatever. or i could also just go to the salon & let the person do whatever they want with it.... | Monday, August 16th, 2004 | 3:31 pm |

ummmmmmmmmmm. um. ummmm.
i decided to update before thinking about whether or not i had anything to update about.
um.
hey, summer is almost over. can you believe? weird cold weather, too. i'm looking forward to fall. to sweaters. and to four day weekends. and to going to montreal and kingston and hamilton on those four day weekends. and to a new apartment. and new clothes. and and and.
my plays are getting pretty good reviews. good press, too. now that my picture got in the globe & mail, my mom is all "um, do you have stuff saved up from your old plays that we could have? i'm making a collection." my own mother.
i'm tired & still kind of sick.
umm.
i want expensive jeans & a nice new computer. i will have to buy them now while i still have a bit of surplus. what kind of jeans should i get? anyone know where i can get a good computer for cheap? | Saturday, August 7th, 2004 | 12:17 pm |
i don't know if i did a bad thing. they are building these new apartments in kensington & i went to see them but they are small but NEW, right? it's hard to tell what they'll be like because there are no walls or floor yet, but the last one the guy showed me i think was do-able....i think. it had two fairly large rooms, a bathroom, a kitchenette & then an "open concept area" that i guess could fit a kitchen table and maybe a couch and some chairs. so, sort of like a living room/kitchen. do you think that's enough room for two people? i told him to put me down for it, cause he said it would be $500 each, maybe less. i like the idea that i's brand new, ie. no mold, probably no cockroaches or fleas or mice. it's a pretty good location too, much closer to school. anyway, i didn't sign anything so i can still look around i guess.
anyway, i have to go & do a play now. every day i think i am sick, but all the vitamin c & echinneacea (sp?) i'm taking is keeping it at this weird level where i'm not quite sick but i'm not quite well & my voice feels thin which makes my lines come out weird. oh well. | Saturday, July 31st, 2004 | 11:10 am |
a couple of days ago i was on the phone in my room when i heard my new roommate yell for kyle. then there was a lot of hustling & bustling & kyle ran upstairs and threw a towel at me & told me to go downstairs & help. i said into the receiver, "sandy, can you hang on a second?" when i got to the kitchen there was water everywhere. it seems that kyle had put the tap on to fill the sink so he could do dishes, & then went upstairs & forgot about the whole thing. we sopped up all the water with bath towels & rang them out in the bathtub. it was disgusting & provided concrete evidence that we do not clean our floors often enough. kyle spoke to the downstairs neighbours, who said that the water dripped down into their apartment on some electronic equipment but that everything seemed okay. we left fans on facing the wet part (of the irrationally large amount of carpet we have in this apartment) for a few days but it was still slightly damp yesterday. this morning i awoke after 4 hours of sleep to the doorbell ringing incessantly at 8:00am. because my natural instinct is to avoid getting out of bed at all costs, & also because i am generally confused when i drift out of sleep & this time thought that i was at my parent's house and that my brother was ringing the bell, i didn't bother doing anything about it when the noise finally stopped i heard some talking and someone in the bathroom but i figured one of my roommate's 4 friends who had stayed over last night had gone outside & locked themselves out or something. i really wanted to fall back asleep but in my newly aware state, i realized i had a hangover & that i should get up & take some pills & drink some water. i opened the door and the carpet in front of my room was absolutely sopping wet. i could also hear dripping. i slowly made my way downstairs to find a scene identical to the one i had witnessed two days ago: very wet carpet & a pool of water in the kitchen. but this time, a soundtrack: dripping. i woke up my roommate to see if she had any idea what had happened but she was just as mystified as i was. then my downstairs neighbour came up & it turns out it was him who was ringing our bell & then let himself into our apartment to turn the valve off on the upstairs toilet. their living room was flooded as well. we swore that it was completely unrelated to the earlier incident & they said it was okay. i think some books of their were ruined & maybe some furniture was horribly soaked. anyway, a gazillion dirty soppping towels later, the landlord's son came over because his dad is in ottawa. he took a look & took some pictures of the damage. a plumber came & it turns out it's a huge thing with the pipe connected to the upstairs shower. he had to dig a hole in the pantry wall to look at it--turns out it had just been building up & of course decided to do its worst in the wee hours of the morning. the cute thing is that the landlord's son brought us orange juice and croissants for breakfast. & the good thing is that because we were still airing out the front hall from the first incident, i put my lovely shoes in the living room when i came home last night. if it wasn't for that, they would be totally ruined by all the water that dripped through. thanks, god. i knew you liked me. oh & one more thing: this website rules. | Wednesday, July 21st, 2004 | 4:55 pm |
it's so hot & sticky today. i love summer, but i would love sleeping during summer more if i had air conditioning. also, this is the first time since i was a kid that i've had relatively long hair. it sucks when it's warm. i thought it would be exciting & sexy, but really it just clumps together & extends in directions which seem spiteful rather than natural. i think i am unfortunately going to cut it all off once i'm not in a play that prevents me from doing so. i'm moving september first. i don't know where. i'm scared because i haven't truly cleaned my room for a year since i don't actually know what needs to be kept & where it should go. this means that these decisions are going to have to be made. plus, i will miss the toxic mold. i've got some pictures that were taken on the last day of my gruelling 12 long days of work. i think i was sincerely insane for a short period of time, which was kind of fun. here is photographic documentation of my mental state: "discussing the finer points of tipping the fringe" "Lindsey contemplates asking the wall if it would like to fill in for a few volunteer shifts" "grrrrrr" (sincerely insane, see?) (as of this writing, i swear to god that these pictures loaded onto my page. maybe they won't in five minutes, but they do right now. if you see red x boxes, you are too late). i would post more pictures of other people, but i don't have their permission. so all you get is me. & some guy who will remain nameless becuase i didn't get his permission either. | Wednesday, July 14th, 2004 | 7:21 pm |
i have been a busy bee. so so busy. i am working on a bajillion things & might not have a real break until the first week of september. why do i always think that summer will be lazy? it never is, is it? i need money.
my sister bought me this funny thing called an aquapet from amsterdam. it dances & you feed it & you love it & it dances more & better the more you feed & love it. it came with a name but i brought it to work & we named it gary. then everyone at work fell in love with gary & i was the most popular girl in school.
lots of people i know are in love. does anyone out there want to be in love with me? | Tuesday, July 6th, 2004 | 1:08 am |
jen just called me to tell me that her sister just called her from l.a. to tell her that she (jen's sister) was just at some like frozen yogourt place and ashley olsen was right behind her in line. the best part is that jen's sister was like "i thought i'd call you so you could call lindsey."
like okay, right now, m.k. is in rehab & ash is eating frozen yogourt. that's so awesome. that's gold.
(oh yeah & plus, obviously, i'm drunk again which makes everything %100 more awesome than usual. awesome!) |
