FAQ Question #160

» Why can't I see the most recent version of a page? Why is my friends view not updating?

If you aren't seeing the most recent versions of pages on LiveJournal -- for instance, if you know that your friends have updated more recently than is showing on your Friends page, or you access a page and see the message that your updates were successful before you've made any updates -- you are most likely viewing an old version of the page in your browser cache.

Try hitting Refresh or Reload in your browser. If hitting Refresh or Reload does not help, your browser may provide a function to attempt a "hard" or "forced" refresh, or you may need to clear your browser's cache. Information on this can be found in your browser's documentation, or by reading this article in the HowTo journal: http://www.livejournal.com/users/howto/21595.html, provided as a courtesy by support volunteers.

If you are having problems with an entry that is not showing up where you expect it to appear, please see http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=92 for other reasons that this can occur. In particular, please note that if someone you list as a friend posts an entry that is backdated, the entry will not appear on your friends page. See http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=91 for more information about backdated entries.
