Legislators always leave me with that warm and fuzzy feeling.
A bill sent to Gov. Mitt Romney last week that is supposed to require sprinklers in nightclubs and bars with occupancy limits of 100 or more, is written in such a way that it applies to nobody, according to a published report. Please remember that they always know best.
It's the perfect law! It is written in response to some incident or perceived need by someone, it restates something that is already a law or civil regulation on a business, yet it applies to absolutely no one, unless something happens and a politician is named in a law suit - at which point the nightclub owner can be hauled in to court for not complying and the politicians can say they did something, but the evil business owner ignored the danger in the name of profits! Brilliant!
