"Glaciers Shrink, But Some Resist Global Warming"
From Reuters: scientists say that many glaciers are melting, but others are growing. "They are unable to crack the conundrum of why certain glaciers may be more resilient to global warming, though one reason could be that melting sea ice falls back to earth as snow and so causes some of the ice mountains to grow." Perhaps this is why some scientists prefer to apply the label "climate change," rather than "warming." [Link]

CNN.com - El Nino may return in 3 months

CNN reports NOAA's prediction of a possible El Niño by late 2004. [Link to CNN story.] NOAA is also predicting an active hurricane season with 12 to 15 tropical storms in 2004.
