Peoria Pundit nails it when discussing some folks in congress who are hedging their bets on this war:
They say they support the troops. But to them, support begins and ends with saying the words support as many times as possible, without really doing it. In fact, there are some who want nothing more than for this war to end with Bush wounded politically. There is nothing patriotic about that, because for that to happen, the interests of the United States will have to suffer. Their ideological kin are those who carry signs urging U.S. soldiers to kill their officers. The notable exception in Sen. Lieberman. |
I’d add in Evan Bayh and John Edwards to the mix of notable donks expressing their REAL support.
Perusing the left side of the blogosphere (do I owe Quick royalties for typing that?) I noted several sites that would easily pass for the official blogs of Chuck Rangel, Al Jazerra or Wesley
Clark, so there are plenty to go along with the ideological kinship noted. A lot of stuff that’s out there falls outside simple disagreement over policy, but a glint of hope for something
negative, because it could effect Bush.
Great job, Bill….and I’m counting the days until that ‘blogspot’ part is gone from the URL (I’m sure you’ve never heard that one before).
