I had to go to the Ministry of the Interior today. "Show your ID* at the entrance", the policemen in front of the building told me. So I gave them my passport and they didn't want to let me enter the building. Yes, Germans are dangerous. "Don't you have a press card??!!" "No." I gave them my work pass. It helped. Maybe I should have told them right away that I didn't want to go there as a journalist.
"Hey, they didn't even let my cameraman pass", a journalist told me, "and he even looks like a cameraman with the company's car and the equipement." "Yes, but imagine what you can hide in there!"
*He said "Ausweis" which only means identity card in general, not what kind of ID.
It's car-free-day today ...
... and Vienna is participating with vintage automobiles. Maybe it's run by horse-shit. Or maybe it has a catalysator which I just didn't see. Or maybe people walk inside and have transparent feet.
