Posting this publically because I feel it needs to be shared.

As I heard a former ambassador from the US to Iraq say last night. Hate the war. Be angry at the government but please don't take it out on our military. This was posted at a site I frequent quite regularly. Michael and I are planning on doing this. These are the exact words of the original poster:

Even if you are not able to be overseas and are confined “stateside”, you can STILL have a valued part and role in the Operation to FREE IRAQ. SUPPORT THE SOLDIERS!!

There are hundreds of thousands of men and women overseas right now risking their lives, they are away from home and family and out of touch.

Take a moment out of your day to put together a "CARE PACKAGE" (it can’t be anything bigger than a shoe box), send them thank you letters and Cards.

When putting together a “Care Package”, send little things like gum, games or a deck of cards, baby wipes to clean themselves, Kool-aid, chapstick, a roll of toilet paper, a can of Turkey SPAM (it can not be Pork), crackers, any food that won’t spoil during shipping. Remember, it can only be as big as a shoebox. Give enough so they can also share with others in their Unit AND send thank you notes!!

You wouldn’t believe how much it makes a difference, I still have a letter that I received from an 8 year old boy in Noodle, Texas (believe it or not, there is a place called Noodle in Texas and got to visit it and Alexander when I got back Stateside).

Don’t just sit there in front of CNN watching this take place, do your part to help and take a moment out of your day (do it while watching CNN if you must) to let these people know you care and support them. It makes a world of a difference.

Contact your local ANG or Recruiter's office and they will provide to you a listing of individuals and Units in service and help you in this endeavor.

I saw these beauties at the Maryland Ren Faire yesterday. They are just incredible... and they are indeed babes. Beauty AND talent is such a rare combination these days. I was impressed enough to purchase one of their CDs and they were nice enough to all sign it.

I have been approached about selling my artwork... Needless to say I'm floored. I mean, I've received some very nice compliments but the thought of actually *selling* my work hadn't crossed my mind. I am giving this idea some serious consideration... as Duchess knows, since she and I discussed it a few days ago ::grins::

I've been gathering some more information and this is quickly becoming a reality. Basically what will happen is I will produce a series of images (somewhere between 25 and 50) on a CD. There is a site that will broker my images and sell licences that will allow people to use my images on their websites, etc though *I* retain the copyright on the images. Most of the people who buy the images and their licenses are webmaster buying content for their sites. The site brokering my images takes a small commission from the listed sale price if he is the sole broker, if he is not the sole broker his commission is a bit higher. His only condition if he does not have an exclusive agreement with you is that you do not sell your product somewhere else for less. Sounds fair to me.

I'll let ya'll know how it goes.

Rules For Surviving A Horror Movie

1. When it appears that you have killed the monster, never check to see if it's really dead.

2. Never read a book of demon summoning aloud, even as a joke.

3. Do not search the basement, especially if the power has just gone out.

4. Never accept invitations from strangers, especially individuals who inexplicably live in isolated areas and have no contact with society.

5. As a general rule, don't solve puzzles that open portals to Hell.

6. If you're searching for the cause of a noise and find out that it's not just the cat, leave the room immediately if you value your life.

7. If appliances start operating by themselves, move out.

8. No sex, beer or partying! Any of these activities will surely seal your fate.

The fellow on the left is right winger Ulf Dahlen, the one on the right is center Jeff Halpern - two thirds of one of the best grinder lines in the league. Their line is completed by Steve Konowulchuk, who scored tonight's game winning goal. Jeff is a local boy who's making Maryland very proud by being one of the greatest players in Washington right now. This kid has quite a future ahead of him... did I mention I have a crush on him? ::grins::

Michael let me have control of the camera during the hockey game today against the Ottowa Senators. I got this great shot of the Ottowa goalie Patrick Lalime making a save.
