Hurrah! Feeling v. happy to simply exist w/o a whole lot of stress at the moment. I had a presentation, four papers and lots of reading last week, not to mention my always charming parents to deal with, but I think I emerged fairly unscathed. But no more talk of stress.
Saw The Transporter yesterday, and I must say that although that movie isn't terribly coherant or logical, it kicks so much ass. I would love to find the dude that put together the score and ask him what he was smoking at the time, 'cause I really want some. I don't think I can comfortably label that movie "good," but I think I would purchase it, or at least view it multiple times, just because it's so entertaining. If you like to laugh at the absurd and see things blow up and people beat the crap out of each other, see this movie.
The dumbasses that Patrick lives with also decided to have a party last night that got busted, and unfortunately this happened shortly after we came back from the movies, so he was technically there and partially responsible. The other guys have agreed to pay his part, but that put a bit of a damper on the evening. Dopey, dopey college boys.
Now I'm in the mood for some home movie viewing...instead, I'm thinking some reading up on the crusades. What could possibly be more exciting?

::shamefully looks down:: I was behaving myself so well, and then I went and gained a couple of pounds. Now I feel like such a shit, and I must feel the burn and all that nonesense. So a friend of mine who's all gung ho on the concept of working out on a regular basis and being healthy has decided to be my personal Billy Blanks and whip my flabby butt into shape. I think I should have pleaded slackerness, but I'm actually feeling semi-motivated. What have I gotten myself into?
One Theology paper down, two to go before Friday. ::grumbles:: Why must the seeemingly nice, religious ones be secretly satanic?
Don't wanna go to class tomorrow. Don't wanna work either. Where did my break go again?

I must admit, spending my days playing on the computer and getting paid for it ain't too bad. I did have to deal with bunches of satanic callers in the morning, but it was all good in the end. Honestly, when I become a professor, I am not going to force my secretary to mediate with every organization I might have to deal with it because it's "beneath" me, or whatever the hell motivates some of these pompous Arts and Sciences assholes to do so. It kills me when these poor women have no idea what they're talking about, but have to add, "can you rush this, because he's getting angry." Ugh!
But on a better note...so psyched for Friday! Concert will rock it out, then Pat's home the next day. Eeeeexcellent.

Highlight of the day: Ang giving me my very own away message. I must say, I was touched.
Also finally upgraded my laptop to XP; I loathed Windows 98 and am very happy to have gotten rid of it.
Miss Pat lots; did get to speak with him last night. He was facinated by the Irish's tendancy to refer to "ham" as "bacon," and otherwise speak "like the Pikies from Snatch."
Ate half a pint of B&J; ice cream in the last two days, after consuming an entire pint of chocolate/P&B; ice cream Friday night...really must cut down on unhealthy, fattening foods. Also should work out, but that is v. unlikely to occur anytime soon.
Most of the day was spent getting paid to sit there doing nothing while avoiding several papers due next week. ::stabs Theology prof::
Now to return to alternately glancing guiltily at exercise equipment and wasting time online.

I kind of wish this icky in between weather would make up its mind; either torrential downpours so I can play in the rain or stop raining all together. At least it's not intensely bright and burning out there. Of course, I'm supposed to go to a football game this evening, so unless it's rained out, I shouldn't be wishing for more precipitation.
The phenomenon of my hair when exposed to humidity is an amazing sight to behold. It's currently pulled back, and then the whole front portion that should be relatively flat to my head goes insane in this conglomoration of frizziness. I don't think someone with normal hair could duplicate it with any sort of styling product if they tried.

Please, I need someone to explain to me once more why I live at home. Oh yes, it saves me lots of money and family angst. I need some sort of chant so I don't forget. This utter bullshit of "We need to see your freaking homework assignments before you hand them in, you have a curfew, we must control every possible aspect of your life."
I am nineteen years old. I am a sophomore in college. Sometimes I wonder about a lot of things. Someday I'm just going to run away.

I got to see the Krop-meister last night, which was awesome, and by awesome I mean totally sweet...and stuff. The Fast and the Furious, the first hour of it anyway, is really amusing in its lameness, I must say.
Random twilight zone moment of last night was seeing a girl I went to HS with intoxicated at a party at Pat's apartment. Very amusing, especially when I think she tried to act superior in some way and failed miserably. Perhaps it was just the alcohol, but I had a good laugh about it in any case. The Freshmen at those parties are always hysterical, because most of them are still irrationally excited at the prospect of alcohol and haven't really found their drinking stride yet. At any rate, I enjoyed myself last night, and I probably won't get to see Patrick much this week or next, since the lucky bastard's going to Ireland with the VU Band. They can take their tennis racket formation international!
Oh, and I started downloading songs from the Snatch soundtrack, which are very eclectic and entertaining. I believe I would recommend it, especially, of course, if one has seen the movie.
Now I get to do homework. Hurrah!

Ugh...just returned from the god-awful Spires concert Ellie suckered Kt and I into attending. Pain, lots of pain. It's not like the groups were lacking talent, but that's just not my kind of music, and there were many places I would have preferred to have been at that point.
In other news, Pat apparently went looking for me at work today, in the wrong place unfortunately, so I had him all over campus just for a little chill-time. It was nice seeing him, eventually, as that's been a rather rare event this week. Damn those professors and their "classwork." Shouldn't they just give us these degrees for all the money we pay them?
Also, I really want to see Bloody Sunday. I'm currently reading the book, and the history of the Troubles is really quite interesting. Unfortunately, it will only be playing at the Ritz 5 downtown, so we shall see if I can make my way down there at some point.

I'm such a bum...I've decided I'm really going to try and write in this sucker, because it's an excellent de-stressification mechanism. Lessee, what's been happening?
1. Briege got a new boyfriend: Patrick, ex's roommate. Strangely, ex was very encouraging. Really, really like this one. Have been very good friends with him since last semester, share freakish obsession with many nerdy things and always enjoy the other's company. Very big positive. 2. Despised summer courses, will never take that many again. Had to withdrawl from second French class because I slacked off. D'oh. 3. Hmmm...otherwise, just spend most of my time reading lots for class, writing papers for class, mindlessly working, boring crap like that.
Highlight of the day: LotR trailer!!!!! Ahhhhh!!!!! So freakin' cool.

Wow...I can't believe I'm listening to this song. When the hell did I even download it? But it's certainly giggle-worthy. He has a hatchback! The cadillac of compact cars! Or not.
Now it's time to taunt my ethics prof's surname: Werpehowski. I truly pity this man, his youth must have been enriched by much abuse and many beatings. But I digress. I'm vaguely recalling why I despise homework...oh yes, that's right, I never got a freakin' break from it. How very silly of me.
At least I can bum around tomorrow. My money's on a day spent attempting to prevent my native slacking tendencies from taking over my brain. Perhaps I'll stalk my favorite little frosh for lunch. I just love the PT thing.

Hehehe...am giddy and rambly, just had lots o' fun with Patrick the intoxicated wonder, am feeling happy and buzzed. Pretending I don't need to awake at the crack of dawn tomorrow and that I'm still watching Star Trek without a care in the world. Of course, yesterday at this time I was still driving home from DC with whiskeyclone in tow so...all in all, I'm not doing too badly. Still feeling Canadian.

Jesus, it's been a while since I wrote here. To summerize: broke up with boyfriend, finished classes for the summer, will be leaving for Canadia tomorrow. I believe that covers most of it. I've been spending my days pondering, reading, writing and watching lots of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Isn't my existance thrilling?
Lacking food and something interesting to do, I have nothing else to report at the moment. Back to staring into space...

Arg. Much too late. Should be sleeping. Have class/work/evil parents in my future. Shall I rant once again about the thrill, the joy involved in habitating the same space as those who birthed me so consistantly? Eh, I'm too tired for that. But I'll bet everyone, including Slavic farmers, are itching to read all about my exciting opinions:

Okay, I agree that the Pledge of Allegance is traditional and does not necessarily need to be altered, but this excerpt from an AP report was rather scary, in my opinion:
President Bush found the ruling "ridiculous," and added Thursday that it was "out of step with the traditions and history of America" as he promised to appoint "common sense judges who understand that our rights were derived from God."
Our rights were derived from God? This is what all those with common sense think? Even as a Roman Catholic, I find that offensive on behalf of anybody not monotheistic/religious. It's one thing to preserve traditional songs and recitations, and another to spout biased religious propaganda. But that's just my two cents.

LJ's being a bastard...but otherwise I'm quite satisfied. I saw Minority Report last night, and I think I'd recommend it to anyone who likes thrillers, despite the Tom Cruise factor. I'll probably end up seeing it again. I also watched Star Trek: Generations, which while not one of the best ST movies, had some excellent moments. The worst, though, was the Kirk/Picard dialogue, and the deeply introspective last words of a character as he died: "Oh my." The dogfight was pretty sweet, though. As was emotional Data laughing his head off at seven year old jokes.
So all in all, a successful Saturday night, despite apparently being deprived of the wonder of Windtalkers...or not.
