I threw together a resume rather quickly on Saturday and applied for a job at Myer. Nothing interesting there. I need to go around Runaway Bay, Harbour Town and Australia Fair sometime in the next couple of days and hand them out to shops and just pray. I'm positive there's a supermarket somewhere waiting to hire me. I need money like crazy, so I might actually end up working at Coles.
Other than that, my room is spotless. Yay for being a slight obsessive compulsive. My cds are freshly alphabetised, my wardrobe is in colours and my bathroom is extremely shiny. I was working on getting fish for my room until I realised that most of them are kinda ugly, so sometime this week I'll try and find some pretty ones somewhere. Or just buy a kitten.
This is incredibly stupid for a NutriGrain ad but somehow manages to be amusing. The woman scares me a little.

Pennies are so fucking stupid. I have $1.48 in pennies, sitting in a bag in my room. 148 pennies. Not to mention countless itty bitty 10c pieces. Ugh. It weighs a tonne. I hate change. Why can't people just get rid of the pennies and start rounding up or down with a 5c piece, like my own sensible country.
I got my school ring on Friday afternoon, my dream about it being too small came true, so I'm wearing it on my pinky for now and getting kinda freaked out about it falling off. But, they got my name right. No St Andfield, so that's all good.
I move out of Lennoxville on the 22nd, right after I have my Math test pretty much, to go and live with Mary closer to Montreal. Then on the 28th/29th Nelson flies back to Colombia, and on the 1st I catch a bus back to here to stay with Robyn for prom. And on the 6th my family get here which I'm reeeealllly excited about, I'm dying to see them.
Looking back I think it's gone by pretty fast, I still remember my first month here. To think I'll be leaving here and never coming back in 30 days is really, really weird. I'm not that attached to the place (ha! I don't really see how that's possible) but I'll miss some people, especially Amanda, like hell.
I can see myself coming back to Montreal in say, 5 years time though. I also want to visit BC because everyone says it's beautiful. So, when I get some money from plebbing away at some crappy job at home, and finish Uni, my plan is to go to BC (in fall, I want to see the leaves) and then Montreal, and maybe New York again, if I like it the first time. And then leave before all the snow wakes up.
But anyway, everything else is boring or not worth mentioning.
Night night.

Updatage.
I called my family the other night and got to speak to everyone for the first time in months, so that was kinda cool. Strange though, they all sound really Australian to me now, especially my sister. Dad sold the land they'd been hanging on to for a while so they're now completely debt free and booking their trip over here. I'm getting so excited, it's bittersweet though. I really want to see my family but at the same time seeing them means the end of school and the end of being around the people I've met here. If I can't sort things out with Champlain (ie, Find a family/somewhere to live in Lennoxville) then I have to move to a French school in the middle of nowhere and live on until December. If it's hell I can leave and come home though, but it'd suck to leave here earlier than December because I'll probably never come back. To this area anyway.
I ordered my school ring last night. Those things are so bloody expensive. I ended up getting the plain one without a stone because for some reason it stuck out to me from the rest. It took me five minutes to convince the guy taking the order that my last name wasn't St. Andfield, and was in fact one word. I think he got it in the end, I hope he did anyway, if that gets engraved on the ring I'll cry. It should be here by July, so I probably won't get it before August because I'm leaving on July 6. So that kinda sucks, I wanted Carly to see it because that was the one she chose for me as well. Hopefully it'll get here in time, with the right name on it.
I'm in the process of finding out the exact costs for a semester at CEGEP. The estimate that EF gave me that they'd found out was up to and near $5000, which is ridiculous. Of course it depends on the courses you take, but why does somebody who's not from Quebec have to pay that much? I can see paying the $1000 for the exchange fee, but $5000 on top of that is utter crap. So I should find out before Friday when the course selection day is, hopefully anyway. I need to get everything sorted out fast and before the term finishes. I also need to find a place in Lennoxville, damnit.
So that is all. My life is boring.
Everybody should download Franz Ferdinand - The Dark of the Matinee

Too lazy to provide any links between this set of random thingymabobs. So:
-- Cricket is really hard to explain to someone from Vermont. No, it is not like baseball, but it's more like baseball than soccer. -- The new Britney Spears video is only halfway decent because i) Stephen Dorff is in it and ii) she drowns. -- The weather was great today. -- That Mexican dance part at the end of D12's My Band is really bloody funny for some reason. -- For some reason my contacts are starting to hate my eyes. -- Raya really dislikes people (understandable, this comment stemmed from a conversation involving Palmer). -- My mum's at an Enjo party right now. -- Hugh Hefner seems like such a nice boy. -- I can still taste garlic from dinner. -- No-one here understands me when I talk about 'bottle-os' and say 'she'll be right'. -- My room smells like a hair salon. -- People here have huge cars. -- I had a horrible dream last night and if Pelling or Peta actually die I'll feel pretty bad. -- My brother is now 22.

Kristy's birthday is on... Wednesday, I think. Whenever the 24th is, so Haaaappy Birthday, et c et c. I hope you have a great one, even if I'm not there, muahaha. Kylie's birthday is on the same day, so happy 18th's, ladies. Unfortunately I'm poor right now, so whenever mum decides to lovingly top up my account I shall buy you something (tiny) because postage sucks ass.
I went and saw Secret Window with Stacy and Shawn a few nights ago. I really should read about movies before I go and see them because I had no idea what to expect. And it's a fucking weird movie, too, so that made it all the more strange. I had corn in my dream that night and the night after because of it. It was cool seeing North Hatley on the screen, I might just have to buy it to say that I've been there. I have a photo on that pier, yay. And breathed the same air as Johnny Depp. Ahh, yes. That's the stuff.
It's now spring (supposedly) and colder than ever. Not the temperature per se, the wind is the ridiculous part. I miss Australian spring, and summer and well, winter. I can't wait to go back and have a winter with temperatures ABOVE zero.
The HL trip leaves in 2 weeks, I'm so jealolus. But yeah, they should have fun OFF IN EUROPE while we're back here doing nothing.
Meep.

Chinese couple mistake son for a girl for 13 years A Chinese couple reportedly raised their only child for 13 years in the belief the child was a girl, until a visit to the local hospital alerted them to the fact that he was really a boy. Chinese state media reports say the unidentified couple from the central city of Zhengzhou were fooled by their child's underdeveloped sexual organs. They dressed him in girl's clothes and taught him to go to female public toilets, the Zhengzhou Evening News reported. They did not realise anything was wrong until they were baffled by a "reaction in the lower half of his body" whenever he watched pretty women on TV, the paper said. The worried parents took their child to the hospital, where a physical check-up corrected their mistake about the child's sex, the newspaper said. Doctors concluded that he was suffering from a rare disease causing sexual organs to be somewhat hidden from view, and the boy was subsequently treated in a three-hour-long, successful operation, it said. --AFP

So we're finally back at school and I've had the best day, but I don't really know why. I just feel... good. I think maybe it's to do with being back at school (funny that) and not sitting at home, bored shitless, trying to avoid an argument with my host sister (or...start one).
So this is good. Good good good. It could also have something to do with me being four days off 18... but yeah, not that that'll be too exciting, it's just something I want to be over and done with already. I got my birthday presents the other day from home: a new watch, Ugg boots, Paul Frank things, a Big Day Out 04 shirt, Australian havanas and some CHOCOLATE. Oh how I miss Tim Tams and Darell Lea... Tara also sent me some pretty earrings from Scotland, along with a Scottish hat (red wig attached, very Fat Bastard), some pins for my bag, and other stuff that I can't remember. Ahh.. gifts a plenty.
I'll be probably moving to St Jean de Richelieu in early July, but after the prom so I can go and take photos and be annoyingly tourist-like. Then I'm off with my family until near August, then i come back, spend a month with Mary and her family, then start French school. I'm actually not that fussed about it now (because I'm in such a good mood) and I'm just waiting waiting waiting for it to come already. I want to move, I want to be closer to Montreal and around different people. My host sisters are close to driving me insane. It feels like I've been away from home less than two months though, so that's good, right?
Lalala...

For some reason I feel like nothing but utter crap right now.
I don't know why, my day was decent enough, if a bit boring and too fucking cold. Yesterday was good, I tried ice skating and it's safe to say I'll never be doing that again. My feet kept going in and I twisted my ankles and argh... it was so hard to walk this morning. I'm so jealous of people who can balance. Damn you all.
Mum wrote to me last night and blah blah blah. My dog has arthritis. I'll feel so crappy if anything happens to him or he dies while I'm away. I miss my pets! I'm just trying not to think about it and starting to count the days until I'll be home. Ahhhh! Too fucking long away.
Another thing I'm trying not to think about is my 18th in two weeks. Bah... I hope I do something interesting which will take my mind off home. Ah, and then there's the whole thinking-about-what-to-get-ElissaRaya thing, which I'm also blocking from my mind as much as possible. Of course it doesnt help that as I'm writing this she's talking about what she's going to get me. Moo.
My family are coming over in July, I'm so excited about it. We're staying in Montreal for a night then going to Niagara Falls and staying there. Then off to New York for a few nights then DC, then VEGAS!, and then San Fran. Then I fly back to Montreal on my lonesome on the 23rd, while they go off to Hawaii. How unfair is that? I'm going to beg continuously until they agree to take me with them.
The Oscars are on tonight. Lord of the Rings better win something or I'll be right royally pissed. Willy Wonka's on tonight, too. I love Veruca... I know so many people like that, sad to say.

Fuck I hate these stupid ibooks.
I just had a whole update written and some crappy error got rid of the whole thing. Meh!
I called my mum last night, which probably wasn't the best idea, because I started crying as soon as I heard her voice. "So I guess you're homesick finally." She makes me feel so loved =]
News from home, all is well thank god. My cousin Zoe had a baby girl, whose name I've already forgotten, just after my dad's birthday. My brother bought a new puppy called Indi, a 9 week old sharpei/staffy cross. Apparently she likes to chew things and got to a $200 memory card and the playstation remote, both of which apparently still work. Mum and Carly spent a week in Adelaide on a shitty Virgin Blue deal, spending dad's money to pay him back for the crappy accommodation. They bought my birthday present (eeeeeh!!) and are sending it over soonish.
Dad's also working out when they're coming over to see me and what they're going to do here. It's a bit of a messy situation seeing as we have to meet up along the way. I figure we'll all spend a night somewhere in Sherbrooke, spend a few nights in Montreal (hopefully in time for Just For Laughs, me and my sister really want to see that) and then off the New York for however long. Dad wants to do a Civil War Trail or something boring and dad-ish like that, so it's all up to him to organise everything around that. I'm so excited to see them even though it's 6 months away. I miss everybody so much it's starting to actually hurt.
It's so bizarre getting emails from my brother and sister, my brother especially. I don't know why that is, but I actually feel like a little sister for once, which is really fucking odd.
Things aren't that bad here though, apart from the place I live being like Ipswich with a touch of Rosewood along the edges. It's just boring, repetitive, going to school again. I didn't expect it to be anything exciting, but I feel like I'm wasting my time (because I am) and I wish I was back home going to uni with Meags, which has orientation in a week. It'll suck so much to be a year behind when I get back home.
I'm listening to Triple J, something else I really miss because most of the stations I've heard here are pretty crappy so far. And most French music is poppy which pisses me off. Another thing that pisses me off is Raya and Tobias going to A Perfect Circle on Thursday. Whores.

Holy fucking shit I feel like crap.
So naturally I decided to update for the first time in years to bitch about it.
I caught a cold off somebody (primary suspect is presently my host sister, but it could also have been caused by any of the plebs at my school who has a cold. Bastards!) I had two colds before I left Australia, RIGHT after eachother, and now I get another one! Argh. Psh. Pfft. Meh.
Anyway, nothing really interesting has been going on. I think I've met absolutely everybody there is to meet now, although I hardly remember anybody's name. It looks like I'll definitely only be staying here until the end of June (which is perfectly fine by me) so I'll most likely be moved out of the area to wherever there's another English speaking school. It's nice here in Sherbrooke but I have issues about where I'm living, housewise.
In a way it's really painful to be going to school for six months, then going back again until December when everybody I meet here will have finished and everybody at home will be halfway through their first Uni year. I don't really think I thought this through properly, it's an experience sure, but I feel really fucking stupid right now for deciding to do it. I'd rather be here than Uni though, for the moment anyway.
I got accepted into Griffith (yay me) but I want to transfer to UQ (missed the cutoff though, damn it), so in September I'm applying to UQ and deferring it (if I get in), then getting credit for whatever I do at Griffith in 05. That's even too complicated for me, but my lovely sister has it all sorted out. Wooh.

Canada is good so far.
Cold, but good.
Everybody wants me to say Gday and talk about Kylie Minogue (right now my host dad is playing a Kylie cd and asking me if I know all of the lyrics by heart -- I'm busy smiling and nodding.)
Mmm... weird.
I miss... people!
