FAQ Question #131

» What are the Paid Account benefits?

Paid users keep LiveJournal in business. To show appreciation for users who have made contributions, there are a number of features that are only available to Paid Accounts.

All paid accounts can access these features:

* Ability to create S1 custom styles and have exact control over your journal's layout (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=128)

* Access to additional styles in the S2 style system (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=168)

* Ability to use all options in the S2 customization wizards (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=171)

* Access to S2's Advanced Customization area (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=172)

* Ability to create custom mood themes (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=64)

* 15 user picture icons, rather than the 3 allowed to free users (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=46)

* Ability to purchase space for an additional 35 user pictures (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=180)

* Ability to insert polls into your LiveJournal entries (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=69)

* Access to the complete range of options for embedding your journal into your home page (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=68)

* A LiveJournal.com e-mail forwarding address (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=113)

* A personalised subdomain name (http://exampleusername.livejournal.com/ in addition to the standard http://www.livejournal.com/users/exampleusername/). Please note that you will need to convert any underscores in your username (e.g. "user_example") to hyphens in this type of URL (http://user-example.livejournal.com/). If the underscore is located at the beginning or end of your username, this type of URL may not work at all for your journal.

* Ability to set up domain forwarding, so that your domain points to your LiveJournal (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=129)

* Access to the text messaging feature (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=30)

* Access to your Friends of Friends list (http://www.livejournal.com/users/exampleusername/friendsfriends/)

The following features only apply to personal paid accounts, and cannot be accessed using a paid community account:

* Access to the Directory of LiveJournal users (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=123)

* Ability to create new syndicated accounts (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=137)

* Ability to post by e-mail (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=187)

* Ability to post by phone (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=183)

* Ability to get comments you post e-mailed to you (http://www.livejournal.com/editinfo.bml)

* Ability to view popular users amongst your friends (http://www.livejournal.com/friends/popwithfriends.bml)

* Priority access to LiveJournal's servers, so pages will sometimes load faster than they do for free users

In all of these descriptions, "exampleusername" refers to your unique LiveJournal username.
