    Something New.
I normally try to not excessively talk about how wonderful my boyfriend is - this is not going to be one of those posts.

    My boyfriend is WONDERFUL.

And I have a Gorgeous ring on my left hand.

And I love him, and it, in that order.

And to those of you whom I should've called to tell you (yvie), I'm sorry that I can't call everyone, but this is the quickest (you're among the first to know!!!) way to tell folk.

My journal is called "Forsake inhibitions; pursue thy dreams" because I think it's a good thing to live by, and it was an easy plug.

My subtitle is called "The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return." because it, too, is important and was an easy plug.

My name is Mawy because it is a nickname.

My friends page is called "dems my babies" because that's loosely how I regard my friends..not that you're all infants.

My users name is mawychick and it's because some friends in Texas started calling me that and I liked it better than my old screen names.

My default user pic is gother than thou. *grins* Okay, it's anime "haibane renmai" -sp? (I'm not at home to check the spelling and have to go to nursery so I won't look it up righ tnow) - and gable made it for me, and it's fablus and I love it and I wish it were me...ceptin she chain smokes.

So'm watching season four, and I just saw the episode where Aidan proposed to Carrie - and I Know she ends up with Big at the end of the series, and I hate her so much for that. *sigh*

    Wanted to give back..
Y'all are ever so helpful, I wanted to put these two tidbits out on the table for whomever would find them helpful..

The first I thought of the other day while enjoying my leftovers from lunch the day before...I recently purchased Saving Dinner. I'd like to think that growing up in a household where my parents cooked every night of the week that I'd have a larger repetoire and memory bank of ideas to make for meals. I tell you, I don't. So this book is handy - the entire year, broken into seasons, with a shopping list for 6 meals a week, a shopping list that you can print out from the internet if you would like, a shopping list that is broken into the different areas of a grocery, and food that is rather healthy and VERY good. So, if you'd like to cook more, I suggest this book. If anything, the fresh veggies in your fridge will inspire you to cook before they rot;)

Secondly, for any of you hipsters who feel like they don't drink enough milk, or have children who refuse to, I've recently gotten re-hooked on a childhood favorite. I was raised drinking goat's milk, and sometimes the flavor in goat's milk gets a little strong..we referred to it as "goaty", so my mother would stir in some vanilla extract into our milk and it'd be gone. I was craving vanilla milk the other day, and I've actually managed to use my 1/2 gallon of milk before it spoils! Very unusual! Just thought I'd share!

    Have a good day!

    it's been a while..."WANT!"
Originally, I wanted the toys...of course I always want the toys..

Pin Cushion Queen I find to be particularly fitting:

But then I saw the T-Shirt..which I'd get more use out of:
    http://www3.tfaw.com/merch/profile.html?cart=4306170937789863&SKU;=103873
but it's a lot more expensive.

And if I had the button maker I want, I suppose I could get this: http://www.darkhorse.com/profile/profile.php?sku=12-833 and make a button out of it.

And I am, for some reason, drawn to Junk Girl:

    Weekend Musings
Went up to Cincinnati with Emilie and Gabriel to visit Annie in her new home this past weekend..

Her new apartment rocks! It's the top floor of an old house, so there are some neat...not vaulted really,b ut slanted ceilings, alcovey rooms, and whatnot - some hardwood, some carpet, and great light.

Cincinnati is very "big city". As much as we like to pretend Knoxville is a decent sized city, what I tend to realize is that we have a large populus, but a smaller "city" - I guess I mean, down town..but that's not even it, really. There are more "city" streets in cincinnati, whereas here it's a lot of subburbs. Anyway.

We had lunch at a restaurant much like our old Trio's pizza - woodfired pizza, 3 different kinds - they were all nummy! Daniel wouldn't have liked most of them though;) We had one with carmelized onions and one with basil & tomato, and then a apple pizza.

Then we went back to the apartment to figure out the evening - or did we...maybe we'd motivated before that, I forget. Anyway - the evening was spent a) going to a pumpkin patch b) looking for a liquor store before we went to our destination, and c) going to a haunted castle (neat castle..mediocre scares...gotta give them props though, it wasn't as bad as it could've been, and noone touched me. I woulda beaten someone up), and then d) we were going to go to a haunted riverboat...but then realized so was the rest of the city, so we bailed on that, went to a liquor store called "big daddy's", and got something like "moe's" (burritos) from a place called chipotle - I don't know what was spicy on mine, but it was Hot! Then we had margaritas and carved jackolanterns. Good combination, I know. Oooh, and we made pumkin seeds - I LOVE THEM. *purr* and my jackolantern is cool - but you gotta live in cincinnati to see it;)

Sunday I was the first one up (hey..I'm normally up at 7am on Sundays,..I think I got up at 9:30!)
and I spent some "quality time" with ellie and bucky and messed around on the mud and fixed some things on annie's mud program.

Once folk started getting up, we lazed around more and piddled at decision making - at some point Gable and I were left to decision making - and we decided to check out the ren faire since the weather was permitting...Oh..My...Gosh. SO worth it! OH Ren Faire Queen liz looks a bit scary in that photo, and I didn't meet her at the faire, but I met a lot of other neat folk! The village is 30 acres...I don't know how big franklin's is, but this seemed to make franklin pale in comparison. There were a lot of amazing costumes (my eyes were probably popping out of my head trying to take notes)..a ghost guy who had red eye contacts. Lots of big big-bearded men who needed hugs - one who had a lute or something who was very cute. I met Lady Ettie (Lady Ettie is a 16th century 'bag-lady' (sans shopping cart) who will correct your grammar and invite you for tea time. Her crumpets are to die for (literally!)), I was nearly crushed by Cameron of Bardic Wind (he stilt walks and pretends to fall on you). They have an amazing and fabulous show and we really enjoyed them. We heard a bit of "Hey Nunnie Nunnie" and they were really good - singers who do some sort of biblical comedy "silly songs of inspiration"..when we arrived they were singing about the five constipated men in the bible. Oh my;) And a 65' pirate ship with a pirate stunt show - I was like, "I can DO that!!" - I want to do that. So.. I got my answer to Daniel's question of "What would I do for ME with my lottery winnings" because most of my answers are typical "house..car...and tons of stuff for everyone else"...and this is my new answer - I would Totally go play at ren faire circuits!!!!!!!

Thaaat was pretty much the weekend, and I've had other things to talk about since then, but nobody is still reading, so I'll hush;)

an update & my morning routineX2..
    Yesterday was a good day.

I got up, with an alarm, but of my own choice - at around 10am. Sortof, I knew I needed to let the dogs out. (Daniel gets a kick out of this: Who let the dogs out? Mary let the dogs out.) And take care of all of Kevin/Annie's aminals. More on that later.

I'd emailed Dan'l and told him that I would go get his lunch if he wanted, and suggested Rolli Poly (sp?) - which is SO good. He'd originally turned me down, but later called, so I played the mud for a bit longer, and then drove out to Joann's to use one of my coupons that was gonna expire to get more stuff for Emilie's costume. That took FOREVER. The ribbon I needed had to be measured by the yard, and there was a terrible line at both cutting tables, and I chose the one with thelady who had to go look for cloth that'd been special ordered that she couldnt' find. Hello, I could Totally measure my own ribbon..I just can't print the little yellow ticket myself!

Then off to rolli polli, where, despite a lack of parking, I was pleased to find that I could figure out which sandwich Daniel had been describing with no problem.

Then back to UT, picked up Dan'l, and off we went - picnic lunch at Victor Ashe (read Victor's Ass) park. Yay for sunny day picnics with good food, cold diet pepsi, and a blanket in the middle of a green field. Nevermind that it was more of a soccer field kind of grass - that makes it softer and less buggy!

Then I traipsed ALL over a hugemongous frisbee golf course with Dan'l. The reason that Gabe (read: apparently incredibly incredibly allergic to poison ivy) was so swamped with the horrific lil itches? If poison ivy were grass, and if this disc golf course was like regular golf, the amount of ivy would be equal to the amount of grass on a well-kempt expensive resort golf course. Daniel, to my surprise, didn't know what poison ivy even Looked like. Then he had to suffer all my other lil farm/ag girl point&look;&identifies; the rest of the afternoon.

Then back to my apartment for a shower, and j9 showed up, and jackie had called, so that started the "take jackie here and there" chronicles - which were NOT working for her benefit at ALL.
    1) pick jackie up just as her uncles have gotten the Uhaul stuck at hte end of their long driveway.
    2) hurry to try and make a near impossible 15 minute trek to jackie's apartment to sign papers/get key.
    3) find that there's an accident on clinton hwy and we need to detour
    4) take a detour that isn't going to get us there in time, and makes j9 carsick.
    5) go to wal-mart, buy things, go to David's Bridal and prove that Daniel does exist.
    6) Have to take Jackie back to her parents' house to let her help unload the truck.
    7) Drive away quickly.
    8) Go to restaurant
    9) Get seated/find out Jackie didn't have to unload the truck, but is having to grocery shop.

YEESH! But she should have the apt. by now. I'll call her soon to check in:D

After a lovely dinner at Litton's with j9 & dan'l, we met up with Patrick at my apt. for some music, and chocolate uterus..I mean chocolate pie. There's another word for the kind of pie, but it isn't coming to me. Patrick will remember. And the chocolate uterus joke was between me & j9. avoiding letting patrick know that htere was pie in the kitchen.

    And to morning routines:

I've been working on a mild morning routine - more than my old one that just involved feeding cats/fish. I make my bed, my bathroom and kitchen sink have to be clean. The ilk, and hten adding things. This week I've been taking care of all of kevin's animals: 2 guinea pigs, the sweetest angora rabbit ever, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 chickens. I kind of like it - I miss my animal chores at home - until I slammed my head into the top of hte chicken coop coming out of it - it's LOW. So. Ow.

    For Dan'l and Josh
It's not the one I like most, but I wasn't surprised.

    starfire
    You're Starfire! Cheerful, light-hearted, and a
bit hard to understand. You're confused of the
world around you, and when you're sad this
confusion leads to near-tragedy, but your
cultural differences also teach you to be happy
whenever possible, and in this capacity you're
definitely the ray of hope when others are
    feeling down.

    mini-update (though I wouldn't expect a full later..)
Jackie came, we found a house for her folks, an apartment for her, and she went - leaving my house quite shiny - She's the bestest. She'll also be moving here on Monday/Tuesday. So Strange!

Dan'l spent the weekend in Chattanooga/Nashville, and while I know how much he looks foward to pre-release weekends, I'll be glad to have him home.

I spent the night at John's last night because UT won the football game. I knew better than to try and make it back on campus after we've just beaten Florida in the last two minutes of the game. I will say that at some point after I passed out he came out of his room (his door sticks & creaks) and I thought, "If I could just open my eyes and sit up, I could go home and sleep on my bed..surely they've all gone by now" - of course I didn't get up. Someone also called and let the answering machine pick up but didn't leave a message at 4am. Ouch.

    Anyway, off to nursery.
