Has anyone ever heard of Matthew Sweet? My friend gave me her CD because she didn't like it. I didn't like it at first either, but after listening to it some more, I realized it is some high quality 80's music.

A Word From Your Moderator. |
[20 Jan 2005|02:33pm] |
So I've been a fairly absent moderator as of late. Have I been missed? How is the community going? Do some of you think that we need some advertising? Is there a sense of community here? If not any recommendations on how to improve it?
So I did some updating to this community layout and I also tried to update the info. If anyone has any suggestions on something else to add in the intro for the community...please do!
P.S. If anyone wants to be a comoderator with me leave me a comment and that could be a definite possibility!

I've Had The Time of My Life |
] |
I love this movie! I havn't seen it in a while, even though it is on USA like every week. It used to be my favorite movie! I used to be able to quote it line for line. Anyways I just thought I would share the excitement of Dirty Dancing. And I will also take a moment to say that Jerry Orbach was great! He is greatly missed. That is all! Bye!

Hello Everyone! :)
My name is Laura and I was born in 1984. Even though I was young I really miss a lot of things about the eighties.
Some of the movies I loved: INDIANA JONES TRILOGY BACK TO THE FUTURE TRILOGY E.T. THE PRINCESS BRIDE STAR WARS ERISODE V: EMPIRE STRIKES BACK STAR WARS EPISODE VI: RETURN OF THE JEDI FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF GHOSTBUSTERS BEETLEJUICE TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES THE LITTLE MERMAID BIG BILL AND TED'S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE FOOTLOOSE
Since then I've watched other eighties movies that I've come to love over the years including The Lost Boys, Stand By Me, Scarface, Raging Bull and Amadeus (which is what my icon is).
I also loved Rainbow Brite, Strawberry Shortcake, Smurfs, Alf, the Mario Brothers and Pee Wee Herman.
I look forward to meeting the rest of you! :)

okay, if anyone has seen 16 candles, what is the name of that slow song that appears in the school dance in the movie, with the guy dancing with the blond girl (sorry, i cant' remember names right now, i've been doing so much homework) I know that PM Dawn ripped off the tune from it, I want to know the original band/singer that sang that song. I tried to find the soundtrack on Amazon.com but it could not be found. Anyone? I really want to download that song.

What is everyone's most moving 80's song??? I have a few.... remember that song Sarah? It reminds me of being like 5 years old (I don't know if I was really 5 because I don't know when it came out) and I can remember my older sister who is 8 years older getting ready to go hang out w/ friends. That's not my most moving song though, I'd have to think about it.
EVERYONE ELSE- can you post your favorite song????

I love screwdrivers and qtips! Now before you wonder about my sanity, i'll tell you why i love these vital tools of my life. These tools saved my life.. and my Nintendo! Yes, i took my nintendo apart and cleaned it up a bit- a lot. Now, it works! I love this! Now it provides as a 'study break.' But thats not even the best part- I can play all of my old games, and I dont suck completely at them =)
oh happy day!

Does anyone remember the movie 'The Great Outdoors' with Dan Aykroyd & John Candy? I saw it the other day and I remembered it right away, I hadn't seen it in ages. It's so funny, and it's such a classic 80's film. I want to get it on DVD.

Did anyone watch Jeopardy tonight? There was a question about Saved By The Bell. All I heard was something about Screech and Slater as I was walking upstairs and I was like "SAVED BY THE BELL!" hehe.

Was/is anyone else completely obsessed with old school nintendo as I was/still kind of am? I would seriously stay up until the early hours trying to recue the princess from the castle ;P. I remember the feeling of victory after finally beating Mario 1, and the feeling of frustration after ALMOST beating Mario 2&3. Good times... Super Mario Bros is definatly love! Along with Duck Hunt and World Class Track Meet. They need to make a soundtrack with all of the music haha. Oh, and Sonic The Hedgehog on Sega Genesis, or was that in the early 90s... sorry if it was. Does anyone remember Mr. Bogus? ahh sorry I start typing one of these 80s memories things and then I just start remembering all of the other 80s goodness and I go COMPLETELY off track. But I'll stop now haha. Later.
