Hello. Been a while. Very warm today, I love it. Still quite happy, even though I'm under a great deal of stress at work. The old me would have been a wreck. Hasn't been a ball of laughs for my friends though. Three weeks to go... ;) Look after yourselves. |

I thought it was a courtesy to Life really is good, and the world out there is becoming a great deal more distracting, both positively and negatively. There are a great many good things in my life at the moment. As there always were and I'd been too stupid, or unable to notice. I'm finding that I may be worth more than I valued myself, and this is as difficult a realisation as it isn't fishing for praise. I expect a great deal of turbulence in the short to medium term, and do not honestly foresee me sharing my thoughts here. It may happen, I just doubt it, but as is often the case, I could very well be wrong. I'll still be reading though. Take care. |

Has been an interesting week. Not the least of which was being made to sit in on a meeting while two deputies made wildly inappropriate comments to a parent. It was ever so great. I was as shocked as the parent, and the student was doing more to calm us down than the other way around. So I've decided to crush one of the deputies utterly. We all need a hobby. Will be attempting my bronze medallion before the end of the year. Finally sent my tax in, after calculating that I'll be getting less than half what I expected. Dinner with Lucas tomorrow. Dinner at Rales' on Saturday night. Thank god for a social life. |

Staying in the job I'm in. Not moving away. Well not entirely, will probably move into ACT somewhere, sometime next year. Funny thing is, all the research hasn't been wasted. David and Kaylene are using the applications and info on TasEd. |

For a student's ag assignment, but I liked how they turned out, so I'm using this one as an icon. In NSW/ACT we call the plant Patterson's Curse. A beautiful but noxious weed that is toxic to many grazers. |

Ran into ![]() JO my stalker ran into me in Civic. I was with Lucas. That was a bit of luck. Finally realised thank god. Lucas is fun, and if he's reading this, he really doesn't look like he's a teenager. :) Saw "Shaun of the Dead" which was enjoyable. Picked up my comics, and because someone had mentioned it, picked up the Firefly box set on special along with "Irreversible" because I was told it was a very disturbing movie. Voted, I'm not entirely happy with my decision, b ut I can live with it. I hate being an adult... Still wasn't enough to spoil the day. |

I'm not feeling very well today, so this kind of thing is about my speed. Now for those not in the know, the paranoia meme is your chance to say something about someone on your friends list without owning up to who they are. ( Read more... ) No, not everone is here.. |

So, as I mentioned in a previous post, by the time I got home, I was very happy to see porcelain. After finishing what needed to be done, Peter reminded me about the iMac, a g3 bondi blue iMac that I was going to fix up, would be arriving the next day. I ended up chatting to Lucas until about 3 in the morning. As the next day was a public holiday, I (stupidly) expected to be able to sleep-in, but, as a previous entry showed, some idiot thought that an 8am lawn mowing session was in order, and if I'd a) had sleep, and b) actually been motivated, I would have tracked them down and then done something very unpleasant to them that I'd have thought up by the time I got to them. With that racket going it was pointless trying to sleep, so I got up and pretended to clean up, and then gave up the charade to play pokemon leaf-green. Went to see Thunderbirds with David/E and Hollie, as we arrived early we went to the toy section of Big W and ended up having a 3 way light-saber battle down an aisle. Thunderbirds is a cinematic masterpiece. Yeah, like you'll ever see that again... It was good to see Ford believe in subtle product placement, and Ben Kinglsey's Oscar has certainly made him chose his movies with the utmost care... Hollie enjoyed the movie. We made our way back to my place where Hollie demonstrated to her Dad her new found skills in Smash Bros, until Elle summoned the pair home by phone and thanked them for letting them know that they weren't wrapped around a pole or something. Peter had arrived with the iMac, which is a pain in the butt to fix up as it is currently set up to run on a network using AFP, and I don't know how to get around that to reinstall the software. Which is probably a good thing, as it gave me time to work out that you have to flash the bios to install OSX. |

Let's see.. Had a group of friends over on Saturday night. Cooked them Indian, including vegetables, but excluding rice, included 6 dishes. It took some time to cook... and if ![]() The guests included Elle, David/E, and their (8yo) daughter Hollie, ![]() ![]() ![]() I'd have taken photos, but I was a bit busy and Elle threatened to kill me if I took a picture of her and her (practically invisible) chemical burns (courtesy of her new skin care products). Everyone was polite enough to pretend that the food was edible, and then the night descended into a game of trivial pursuit. Considering the very small volume of alcohol that was consumed, this still managed to be one of the funniest games of trivial pursuit I've ever played. I'm not sure poor Cowen knew what to make of us all. The guests were all polite enough to let the host win too... I felt all Wookie-like... Elle hates the game, so getting her to play was a coup in and of itself. I spent most of Sunday running things through the dishwasher. I was meant to be going over to ![]() ![]() The trip is a short one, and yes I know, very lazy, but I actually wanted to get there before I was any later. Still, the driver managed to inform me of his wishes for the grand final, and how difficult it was to find somewhere to take a pee at 3 in the morning. I blame him for all that was to happen, as if he invoked some demon of delayed urination... I finally arrived with the left-overs from Saturday (only ![]() ![]() I left at about 10:45-ish and was half way home by the time I realised I should have taken a loo break before walking home. I was in the street next to mine when a car with it's high-beams on crawled down the road. It's very aggravating to have high beams in your eyes from a slow moving car for the length of even a short street, and with a painfully full bladder I wasn't exactly in a good mood, so I voiced my opinion of their driving style quite loudly as the car creeped into hearing range... to find that it was a police car. "Just doing our job sir..." Good thing I bit back on the "Well do it without a smirk on your face arsehole." and just kept walking... because any delay at that point would have been disastrous. |
