Tonight I got to see two bands for the first time. I grew up full of angst and listened to Social Distortion a ton. It was great to see them play. Mike Ness has to be about the only man on the planet that can wear eyeliner and still look entirely hardcore. He really is the charisma of the band. It is interesting to see how he has grown up over the years, just like the crowd. Mike Ness is now married with two kids. It was a lot older crowd then your typical hard core show. This stands to reason though when a band can still fill the Tabernacle after 25 years. They played a good mix of old "classics" and new songs off the new album. The new songs definitely reflect a kinder gentler Mike Ness and a man devoted to his family. Tiger Army had great energy and I wish I had seen more but unfortunately I only caught the last half of the set. Tiger Army consists of a singer/guitarist, drummer and a stand up bass player. They have some great videos on their website. And don't forget your 3D glasses for TA II: Power of Moonlite EPK in 3D.

I had the best nap this weekend. I was hiking in the woods where I grew up. (No I didn't specifically grow up in the woods but in my home area) I had hiked probably 3 or 4 miles around the lake and had fun chasing tadpoles and crawdads near a dried up waterfall. I found a nice bluff overlooking the lake that was still warm from the earlier sun. It was so comfy I just leaned back on my pack with my feet over the edge and got the best little nap like a lizard enjoying the late afternoon warmth.

I am excited. I am in for quite the grand adventure. I just purchased a ticket to Istanbul Turkey for 10 days in August. I am to backpack and explore. It is also during the Olympics so I may have to make a side trip over to Athens. Anyone have any suggestions of sites to see? There is a hostel that is in tree houses I may go to for a couple of days. I'd also like to see the mountains around Ankara.

You are Jareth, the Goblin King! You're a nasty piece of work who everyone is scared of. You're also very well endowed and not afraid to show it off! In another life you could have been a huge glam rock superstar! "Which 'Labyrinth' Character are you?" brought to you by Quizilla

OK I just posted my awesome time at the concert review. Now is my ordeal to get home. We went back to Fado's for another drink but ended up pretty much just drinking water after being so dehydrated from earlier drinking and dancing. We are parked in different areas so when we go to leave we split up. I had parked on West Paces Ferry just down from Johnny Rockets in a fairly dark lot but I had parked on the front row where it was more lit. I walk around the end of a hill and turn up the side of the parking lot when I see a group of 6 or 8 guys standing in the middle of the parking lot about 15 rows up from where I'm standing. One has a gun and the air and shoots it. I was close enough to see the muzzle flash and to hear the click click of him dry firing it as he kept trying to shoot more into the air. I turned about face and walked right back where I had come from and dialed 911. The operator said she would send someone right out. I walked back up to the main strip and watched down the road and saw them walk out where I was and walk back into the lot. So I wait about 20 minutes and no cops. So I want to leave but I don't want to go into the lot with people shooting. I find a cop that is working at an intersection and tell him what happened. I ask him to walk down with me so I can leave, but he says he can't leave where he is but he will call it in and check the status. This guy was pretty friendly and nice about it. I think he thought I was pretty drunk cause I had to reek of beer from all of it at the show. I was fairly sober by now though. So he tells me a cop will meet me at Johnny Rockets. I wait and wait some more. He finally shows up and I point out the lot and walk that way. He was kind of a dick to begin with. Well he turns into the wrong lot to start with. Then when he goes into the right lot the dumb asses are still there but they sneak out the back as he drive in. He stops to talk to some people hanging out that were light hispanic. I could tell the guy shooting was black so ran over and told the cop this and the guys leaving... He drove around and out of the lot and stops a couple of them. Well the others had sneaked right back into the lot and drove off, presumably with the gun. Stupid cops. I pointed this out but he was talking to the other guys and didn't even search them or really care. So I was just like fuck it and left. I hadn't been to buckhead in about 2 years and won't be back anytime soon. For you out of towners, Buckhead is the expensive part of town and kind of the tourist party area. It used to be mainly frat boys having drunken brawls. It has turned more into the hip black area to go out now. This is where the Ray Lewis' (carolina football player) friend murder happened etc.. now.

This show rocked my socks off... Flogging Molly has managed to enter my list of all time best performers. If you have never seen them play do what ever it takes to make it to a show. They drive the crowd wild... Every song the crowd is singing right along and dancing the whole time. I had never heard Throw Rag before and was impressed they call themselves "sailor rock" it is kind of a blend of a old school punk and rockabilly. The singer sounded a lot like sloppy seconds to me. They even had a guy playing the washboard. Seeing them play once has made a fan out of me. I went to the show with my friend from Florida who introduced me to Flogging Molly so that made it extra special.

I've had the last straw with AT&T; Wireless services. I'm tired of being lied to and offered nothing close to what they offer new customers. Or having existing perks threatened to be taken away if I don't sign a contract. AT&T; must be purely focused on the acquisition of new customers because they do nothing for existing ones. Who does everyone use for a wireless provider and are you happy with them? I'm thinking of switching to Sprint PCS tomorrow.

I'm now an official member of the cool kids. I met my first person from LJ tonight. Went to see The Get Up Kids on her recommendation. They put on a great show. The opening acts weren't that great though. Rocky Votolato was just too winey and Recover's music was pretty good but they were trying way too hard to be rock stars. If she's not all ready in your friends list go check out inboxzero she's a lot of fun and a total hottie too. Rabbit?

3 out of 5 stars. Decent psychological horror, but it was quite predictable at times. There are a few good surprises though so don't assume too much. I thought Depp and Turturro both put on quality acting performances. Always important in any psychological horror. Believable characters..

I went to the old Atlanta city jail for work today, I'm helping with some of the planning on the new use for it. It's a big 4 story jail, kind of creepy all empty like that. The cells were tiny. 2 bunk beds the size of cots hung on the wall and about the same around of room between the wall and the cot.

wow that took for fucking ever... I went through and cut down my friends list. I pretty much only kept people that I had journals I was interested in and dropped folks that only posted surveys... hadn't posted in the year 2004... were FO without me being a friend etc... Nothing personal to the folks I dropped just trying to make my friends page more readable.
