Brandon's College Ruminations and Observations
1.Beer is Good
The beer is much better! To put it simply, you are instantaneously elevated to a higher echelon of drinking when you go into college. The kegs at the parties are bottomless. Don't expect to drink subpar beer like Busch Light. Kids at college go above the bar and acquire kegs of Labatt Blue and Killian's Red. If you ask me, that's drinking in style.
2. "It's educaaational!" or "We got ideas, to us that's dear"
Another interesting facet of the college experience is watching kids trying to become involved in changing the world. Before you start stoning me, I have to elaborate a point or two. You have the tree-huggers, the anti-corporation bunch, and the radical religious groups. These kids run around trying to ensnare the unsuspecting dumbass into their huff and puff groups. I feel sorry for these people for one large reason: general people are static and unchangeable. Sure, you can slow down the rate of deforestation, petition a local business for unfair business acts, or convert one lost kid into wicca or something... but on the whole, it's not going to do shit.
Maybe I'm ranting pointlessly... but it seems to me that people work themselves up into a frenzy and then they can't enjoy life.
3. Mr. Educational
Even though I've mentioned the fantastic drinking at my university (or any other), I'd like to mention that I'm kicking some ass acedemically. As of today, I have straight A's, and the way things are going right now, it's going to stay that way. Because of this, I've been forming study groups and helping those that need help. Somewhere along the path of the summer, I've been reconverted into a nice guy. I don't know how it happened, but it did. Also, I've been studying with girls that are scorching hot and smart! I didn't know that this combination was possible.
4. Dorm Life
Things I like:
-stumbling into the room drunk and not having to deal with my dad
-leaving things in a general mess
-leaving my alcohol in plain view
-study room
-girls down the hall
-no highschool bullshit
-cool roommate

I recieved an important letter in the mail today. It was my housing information listing who my roommate is for the upcoming year. His name is Eric, and he seems pretty cool. He seems to share the same interests and all that jazz. I'm living in Van Antwerp Hall, which is a relatively quiet dorm, I'm told.
