» What is Meetup? Why is LiveJournal linking to it?
Meetup.com is a site which helps people who are all interested in a certain topic find each other and meet up in real life.
Unlike sites like LiveJournal, which can slowly grow over time, sites like Meetup require an influx of users, otherwise the site doesn't work.
So, we're doing our part and linking LiveJournal interests to their corresponding Meetup page.
We're not getting any money for this. The LiveJournal admins respect the Meetup idea, and we just want to see the project succeed.
Go join some Meetups in your city and spread the word. It's pretty fun!
