FAQ Question #191
» Why am I receiving an "incorrect time value" error when I try to update?
This error message indicates that you are trying to post a new entry in your journal that has a date earlier than the date of your latest entry. However, LiveJournal does not allow entries to be posted out of chronological order unless the "Backdate Entry" option is used.
When a posted entry is showing a future date and time, it usually means that at the time it was posted, your computer's clock was set to an incorrect date or time. It could also mean that you inadvertantly typed the incorrect date and time as you posted the entry.
If the date of your latest entry is a mistake, you can edit it to give it the correct date and time (
http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=2). If you want to leave the date of the future entry as it is, you can edit it and activate the "Backdate Entry" option for it. See
http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=91 for information on how to turn on the "Backdate Entry" option. Once the future-dated entry has been either corrected or backdated, you will be able to post new entries as you normally would.
If you do not correct the future entry's date or backdate it, you will need to activate the "Backdate Entry" option for each entry that you post; otherwise, the "Incorrect time value" error message will appear.
If none of the existing entries in your journal has an incorrect date, then the new entry you are trying to post probably has an incorrect date. Check the text entered in the date and time fields to ensure that the correct information is appearing in the fields. If you are using the web client to update your journal from a web browser in which Javascript is not enabled, this will cause the web client to fill in the form automatically with the current time according to LiveJournal's servers rather than with your local time, which can be responsible for this error.
Note that entries cannot be dated before January 1, 1970, and cannot be dated after December 31, 2037.
