Library, UCC. Dear sweet mother of god! Do you have any idea how long I've been trying to get into LiveJournal? Why do you think I haven't updated for a month? Every time I try to get to my journal I get ?cannot find server? messages. Does Nashata get this? Nooooo.... :? Her LJ works just fine, every time. I can't even view my profile. Bastard. Is anybody else having trouble, or is it just me? I was about to give up completely. See, now, you'd think that after all that effort to get here, I'd have something interesting to say. Wouldn't you? Ah, but then you'd be WRONG! How little you know me. (Probably due to the fact that I never update?!) Today's the first day of Winter Term. Umm, yay. And stuff. I'm much more excited about my new capability to copy Monkees episodes.
Yes, I am disturbingly happy about the Lit class. Besides, I'm too lazy to try to think of more items for the list. I'm getting offline now, but if I can ever get back to LJ I'll post more. Ta ta, all! Hope your holidays were groovy. |

You ruled Chile from 1973 to 1990, and are responsible for the abduction, torture, disappearance, and execution of thousands upon thousands of political opponents. When you first took power in 1973, you embarked upon a programme delightfully named the Caravan of Death, which extracted prisoners from the country's jails and executed them. Victims were sodomised, blinded, starved and electrocuted, amongst other things, hundreds and hundreds of times in just the two years between 1988 and 1990. You also were allied with Britain in the Falklands war during the 1980s; Margaret Thatcher, then the Prime Minister of Britain, has said that it owes you a great debt.
Which Evil Criminal are You? Ah, how I've missed LJ tests.... |

Listen, someday I'll get it together and be able to actually keep my LJ up-to-date (but I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you). Some odds & ends to go with the tests everyone's posting (nice to know some things never change): Basically I have no idea what's going on in anybody's life around LJ, because, as I mentioned before, I suck (?for free ? and I like it? ? yes, I know).
I promise, I swear, I will really try to update this thing more often than, say *ahem* every four months or so. *cough* Listen, I'm not online very often these days, okay?! :? I miss everyone. Cheers! |

Hullo, all! Sorry I keep leaving these gaps in my journal, but I never get online these days, for reasons that are too whiny and stupid to go into. Nashata and I are in for a long summer, I think. We got wrangled into painting the Grandmother's porch last summer, and this summer we're getting wrangled into painting mum's living room. With luck, we can make it through July without anybody else dying or going into hospital. July is a bad month for those around us. Last July, the Grandfather had a heart attack, then a week after he got out of hospital, he and the Grandmother were almost killed in a car wreck. We're eleven days into July this year, and so far we're doing okay (knock on wood), so just cross your fingers man!! Well, now that I've whined and said absolutely nothing interesting, I must go. I have mail to check and stuff to do before I get offline. *blows kisses* I miss you all! Have a lurvely time, and I'll try to be more entertaining next time. %-P |

Andrea didn't stay over last night. Bets are still open, however, on whether she'll be back between now and the time she leaves town (which is supposedly only going to be a day or two). I was up online till about two this morning. I accidentally surfed onto a website about flappers and the Twenties in general. I am slightly addicted to the Twenties, and so I started going through all their links and stuff and welllll you know how it goes. Online for hours. It's in the eighties today: Summer is coming!! Woo hoo! |

Well, sorry, everyone, but Nashata's gone again. Off to the Coast to visit her parents. She left this morning, but she's supposed to be back reasonably early on the 5th. Andrea stayed the night last night (and possibly for a few more days as well). She's having a bad time at home. She's gone right now, though; her parents came to pick her up to drive out to the Coast for the day. I'm sitting here listening to the Who and drinking Coke and enjoying the sunshine. It's supposed to get up to 80° today, but it's only about low 70-something at the moment still reasonably cool out. It's nice. I'm sort of tired. Andrea was really upset when she showed up last night, so we went out to the Truck Stop and hung out for a while. (Sat and drank root beer & iced tea [not mixed together: Shata & Andrea drank root beer, I drank iced tea] and then went into the game room.) We didn't get home till after two-thirty. Andrea stayed up long enough to have a cigarette and then she went to bed and crashed. Nashata stayed up to call her boyfriend, though. Couldn't get hold of him till three, and talked to him for an hour. The phone is at the foot of my bed, so consequently I was up till four as well. That's okay, though. I just slept in this morning. :) Unfortunately that meant I was too groggy to spend any time with Shata before she left this morning, because she left early-ish, but I'll see her in a couple of days (I hope). Damn, I sound like such a bitch! Nashata kept me up all night talking to her boyfriend! I didn't mean it like that. You know. But apparently I am an incredible bitch, so maybe it's appropriate. Anywart, it's a lurvely day (Sure is a nice day! I agree with you agreeing with me! That's a nice thing !). I have about 239498725 things to catch up with online, though, so I figure I'll try to get some of that done now while no one's here and no one's calling. :) What's everybody up to today?? |

Great, but a bit odd... Liverpool Airport to Carry John Lennon's Name John's getting an airport named after him! Doesn't this strike anyone as a bit ironic? |

We had a fabbbbbulous time last night. Andrea stayed over, so first we went out to the Truck Stop and played pool and video games (well, Andrea & Shata played pool they each won a game and we all played video games). Then we came back to Llama House and it must have been somewhere between two and four in the morning by this time. We couldn't decide what to do, so Andrea suggested card games. None of us could remember how to play anything except Rummy, which turned out to be hysterical because each one of us was playing by different rules. It took us about two and a half games to get it all straightened out. After we got tired of Rummy, Andrea and I each played a couple of games of Solitare (real Solitare, with real cards, so you can cheat, UNLIKE Computer Solitare and I refuse to lose at Solitare, for Pete's sake!!). Andrea had put on some strange CD known only to her that kept playing an electric version of Cottoneye Joe strange but interesting. That finished, and then Shata and I started putting on songs. Never a whole album of anything, just a song here and a song there. Bury My Body by the Animals, the Beatles' Oh! Darling and the Anthology versions of Helter Skelter, I've Got a Feeling, Dig a Pony, Two of Us, and You Know My Name (Look Up the Number), just to name the ones I can remember. But it was about five a.m., and we were blaring our stereo and singing at the top of our lungs. I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard at five in the morning. Andrea went to bed a little after five. Shata and I stayed up till about 6.30. We all got up about eleven, and Andrea had to leave to run errands or something. She's supposed to be back later tonight. Whirls of fun! I may never sleep again. |

Happy birthday to WASHY!!!!! Nashata, my dear sweet wonderful friend with beautiful hair, is fabulous and wonderful and marvellous, and is certainly not the type of person who would tell me something like Put something nice about me in there or I'm gonna belt you. Niceness noted. :Þ~~~ |

Just a quick note. Can't stay on too long, as I'm writing while Nashata and Andrea are out, and of course I'd hate to suffer the wrath of Andrea when they come back, and she goes home and tries to call and I'M ONLINE...! :) heheh Anyway nothing terribly interesting happening, I'm afraid. Nashata and I are still convalescing from the crottled greeps, or the flu, or whatever it is that we've come down with. I started coughing this morning and I thought I'd cracked a rib. It's okay now, though. I think (I hope, anyway) that we're on the road to recovery. According to our new WeatherBug proggy, it's 70° out. I'm not sure I believe it. Then again, WeatherBug is broadcasting from Roseburg, which is half an hour away, so it may very well be 70 there. Okay, this is really sad. I'm writing about the weather. Let's move on. ..... ............. ....................... Damn. I don't have anything interesting to write about. My life is sort of boring; I can't help that. Hmm. Anybody up for a rousing hand of solitare? Bleah. |

I have just witnessed possibly the strangest thing I've ever seen
. It was incredibly funny although I only understood about three words of it
. On to other topics, I missed posting on June 22nd, which upset me 'cause it was Anne Morrow Lindbergh's birthday. Hasn't anybody else in the whole of LiveJournal read anything by this woman??? What is wrong with you people?! Washy's birthday is coming up! Happy happy! SNERG!!!!! |

I forgot to add this when I posted earlier, but today is Paul McCartney's birthday! He's all of fifty-nine years old today. Happy birthday, Paulie! (Aw, shucks
.) And I would like to say a big giggly Thank You!!! on behalf of all Monty Python fans to Purple Lemon for the weird mood icon! |

I just changed the layout of my journal to Tabular Indent. I've had it on Punquin Elegant w/Sidebar ever since I first got my journal here, and I was BORED with it. And, like Anita Loos, I have vowed never to be bored. (I think it worked better for her, though.) I really should get offline. Andrea's probably tried to call about thirty-five times by now. Well, possibly only fifteen or so, as she knows Shata's at the Coast, but nonetheless, many times. But I'm doing stuff! so I'm going to stay online till I decide to get offline, and I will not be guilted off!! (I probably will be, but I'll try not to.) You know what? Never Be Rude to an Arab! |

Stole this link from Juniper: My Glam Rock superstar name is Magnetic Stain. Or, if I use my netname instead of my real name, it becomes Magnetic Leather. Wouldn't you like to know how they arrive at these conclusions? Five Good Things 1. Listening to Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. 2. Sunshine! 3. I DON'T HAVE ANY HOMEWORK!!! I know this should seem self-evident, as I'm on summer holidays, but I'm afraid it didn't actually sink in for me until Saturday night. 4. I've been reading Elizabeth Peters all weekend, especially the Amelia books. I am a devoted fan of Ramses. 5. Nashata should be back tonight or tomorrow from visiting her parents. |

Five Good Things 1. I'm on Remember WENN overload, and it's making me a trifle giddy. 2. Listening to the Aminals. Excuse me, the Animals. I said I was giddy! 3. Term is over!!!! Woo hoo! 4. The sun is shining (and that's an achievement for June in Oregon). 5. I just dumped sixteen ounces of ice water all over myself and my chair. I don't know if I'd necessarily say that's a Good Thing, but it certainly woke me up. |

Erg. I haven't been around LJ in a while. But this term is nearly over, so that's a plus. I don't think I've written since midterms. And now, for the continuity of the film, I would like to reintroduce Five Good Things 1. This term is basically over. Finals Week starts tomorrow, but I've had all my finals early. I still have to go in for two finals this week, but they aren't real finals: one (tomorrow, 8 a.m. :Þ) is just listening to final presentations for my Music Lit class (I already did my presentation, but we still have to go in to listen to the rest), and the other is Thursday at 1.00 to pick up my last things out of the kiln for Sculpture. And then I'm done for the summer! Yay! 2. My nails are painted a very bright Maple LaMarsh-esque red. (Any Remember WENN fans out there??) 3. I've been listening to the Animals all day. 4. With a little luck, Nashata & I will be getting a new vehicle soon (Winston finally gave up on us completely). 5. Term is over!!!! I know I already said that, but it's so nice that I think it counts for two. I just finished re-reading Anne Morrow Lindbergh's Hour of Gold, Hour of Lead. I'm sure I've said this before (probably repeatedly), but everybody should read Anne's books. I worship her. I was so crushed and upset when she died it was as though one of my dearest friends had died. Read her books, I say! (Poit, I say, Poit!) I think I've forgotten how to write or something. It's been approximately a bazillion years since I posted anything, but I can't think of anything to say. Oh well I'm going to blame it on lack of sleep. Andrea spent the night last night; we went out to the Truck Stop and didn't get in till 4.30 this morning. :) Speaking of Andrea, she just showed up. Gotta go. More later, I promise. :D |
