Anyone with any brains at all and able to think for themselves voted for Kerry, obviously that wasn't enough and that alone is a scary thought..... religious fanatics carry the day, it makes me ill. It feels like one of those reality shows gone bad. Get ready for an extreme make-over my friends, you won't recognize your country and the world in 4 years. |

Since I usually have an opinion on what is going on with our neighbours to the south, it's only fair I comment on our Canadian federal elections, coming up at the end of this month. Last night 4 leaders of political parties had what could euphemistically be called a debate. It was not a performance worthy of those who want to lead us for the next 5 years. It was pathetic, and demonstrated why we have zero respect for politicians. The BS was flying and no one was listening. Often 3 people would talk at once and none would give an inch, trying to drown each other out, it sounded like the tower of babel. The debate lacked substance and none of the participants showed any respect for the others and they all kept on repeating the lies we have heard for years. It was sad to see and I guess in the end, in the land of the blind, one eye will be king and we end up getting the leaders we deserve. I say we need a revolution, evolution is not working. |

I just turned my LJ into a 247 page PDF archive, including pics and comments...wow, what a great service!! you will find it here (thanks artvamp) I was thinking about something like this just a few weeks ago when one of my friends deleted her journal and all I could think off was the incredible body of work that was lost. every time a journal gets deleted, a library burns luckily she changed her mind and she's back |

on Sunday, R and I were passing through an intersection close to our home when we hear this load thud behind us, we both look, just in time to see two bodies flying through the air. ... oh my God, people have been hit, as R says those words she stopped the car and jumped out, told me to call 911 and ran back to the scene i just froze and by the time I had found my phone i noticed several other people already talking on their cells. an ambulance arrived within 90 seconds and from a safe distance I watched, i couldn't bring myself to get any closer 2 motionless bodies on the pavement... a motorbike wedged under the front of a truck, R bent over the woman, who was badly hurt, calming her, talking to her... i could see blood everywhere... she was helping the medic cut off some clothing and trying to keep the woman from slipping into a coma..she talked to her...her name was Melanie, 28, had a 4 year old daughter... she kept asking, how is Eric? is he ok? her husband lay dead about 10 feet away R stayed with her until she was put on a backboard, i then saw R walk over to the driver of the truck and talk to him briefly...she told me that he kept on saying.. i didn't see him, i didn't see him... she then came back to the car i held her, we both held back tears as we turned around and went home. we heard on the news that the woman was in critical condition with life threatening injuries...he was dead... we played a part in someone's karma that day... it was a truck, waiting for us to clear the intersection before he turned left, that did not see the motorbike, who was right behind us. what would have happened had we not been there? we have both been re evaluating our priorities, the point that life is fragile and that tomorrow is not guaranteed was driven home in graphic detail all i can think off is that little girl, losing her dad and possibly her mom, it breaks my heart |

I ditched my home telephone provider Telus, and am now using VoIP from Primus called TalkBroadband. This technology will revolutionize current telco's. Check some of the features and long distance is dirt cheap 0.04 cents a minute to Europe. Quality is excellent and it has had no major effect on my cable modem speeds, which hover around 2 megabits/sec. Then I got myself a Treo 270 phone/pda. Now I can be online 24/7, wherever I am, can you say Ubergeek? I use Verichat to run MSN Messenger and Yahoo. It's awesome, I can SMS or e-mail any account and it has this cool Blackberry style keyboard where you use your thumbs to type. I got used to it really quickly. The PDA uses Palm Desktop which serves me just fine, no need to drag a laptop around anymore. Just call me Digital Grass :-) |

... if you could invite 2 extra people for Christmas dinner, one alive, one dead, who would you invite? For me, the dead one is easy, I would invite the historical Jesus and quiz him on this thing called Christianity and maybe find out if he was just an exceptional individual, or was he more? I would certainly like to get his views on the state of the world today and what we could do to fix it. ... as for the other guest? I have been thinking and it would have to be Osama Bin Laden. Now can you see that? Jesus on my right, and Osama across the table. I would also have many questions for him to try to understand a different world view and I would be fascinated by the interchange between both my guests. Who would your choices be? ( for me it was a tossup between Osama and Halle Berry, hehehe ) Happy Holidays all, from Grass |
