Went to the opening of a new Aussie Backpacker hostel in Makriyianni last night. The place is smashing. Run by a really cool couple, she's Welsh and he's Aussie Greek, and their son is the manager. I have to say it's probably the best (non-deluxe) accommodation I've seen in a long time in this city, and that's including B class ("3 star") hotels.
So, if any of you know anyone who's coming to Athens (any time after the Olympics!) and is looking for excellent quality budget accommodation, go for this place. It's simply called Athens Backpackers, and is located right beside Acropoli Metro Station.
Plug over! :-)

Post a memory of me in the comments. It can be anything you want.
Then post this to your journal and see what people remember of you.

You are a GRAMMAR GOD!
I would have been very surprised if I was anything less, given my previous line of work as a proofreader! Interesting quiz!

This is considerably freaky, given that all the apartments in my building do have marble floors, and the crowd living above me have a nasty tendency to make lots of noise running around and dragging stuff on same.

E bought me Bachelors Walk on DVD as a pressie. Watched the first 3 episodes last night.
As sorcha has been known to say on occasion, (albeit somewhat sarcastically), thank God I wore my corset for I fear my sides may have split.
No, seriously, it's hilarious. 3 lads living in a house in the centre of Dublin, and a very humorous take on ordinary, everyday occurrences. It's getting better as well.
Those of you who think Irish TV drama consists solely of Fair City and Glenroe-type efforts, get a load of this.

Borrowed the first series of 24 from a colleague.
I suspect I will not be leaving the house tomorrow.

Completely, madly busy morning. Had two receptions last night, and another big one tonight, that I organised. Tomorrow night's another social do, then a colleague is arriving to stay for the weekend. Then on Tues I'm off to Sofia...
I have to fit sleeping and eating and Greek homework in there somewhere...

This is brilliant.
They even had Fair City, Father Ted, Home And Away and Cabin Fever! I caught them out on Glenroe though...

I'm sorry, I hate these things, and I know most other people do too, but I did it out of curiosity, and I laughed so much I have to put it up.

Well, feeling a tad better after yesterday's post, apologies for the rant, but I suspect it'll be a recurrent theme over the next few weeks.
teadaemon, welcome to the madness. And long time no see!
