Red headed, vaguely smart, networking geek. Or at least I was til I got RSI.
I lived in India and Belgium as a kid. I'm waiting for someone to respond to this fact with 'You lived in Belgium - that must have been exciting!' My folks live abroad (both relative to me in Scotland and the family house in Dublin) which is one push for me actually traveling a fair amount.
I read too much and geek about movies.
I once spent a great summer in NYC and while there's no sign of me getting back there any time soon, I still dream of living there.
Cycling is my current strong obsession - replacing the feminist/bisexual stuff that was all I'd talk about before. I cycle for transport and fun. I did a charity ride from Bilboa to Barcelona a few years ago but my fitness level has gone down since.
Cycling looks in danger of being overtaken by yoga in the obsessiveness stakes, but they are about equally likely to be what I babble about in a pub (or my journal, for that matter) nowadays.
Knitting is moving up in the obsession stakes. To be honest, cycling is dropping down the list - not that I don't still enjoy it, just don't talk about it as much.
Moved to Edinburgh 2001, working for $BIGBANK doing IT Service Quality Management, which is a meddler's charter. Basically, we try to work out what went wrong and how to ensure it doesn't happen again. I enjoy my work and find it interesting, which makes me strange. I love Edinburgh and will be here for a while.
