House Update I still hate painting, but Jen and I are slowly getting there. I'll post before/after pictures of the house in the next couple of weeks. I'm staying very busy with work (big implementation that goes live on 8/1) and coaching the running team. What little spare time I have seems to go into doing stuff around the house, whereas I should be trying to rest/relax a little. Owning a home is a hell of a lot of work! |

it's been a couple of weeks since we moved to the new house, so i figure it is a good time for an update. here's an update: i hate painting! other than that, things are going well -- we're slowly getting unpacked, settled, and our furniture delivered. the new living room furniture came last week, the bedroom furniture (chest, dresser) is next week. we can actually finish unpacking then. we love the house -- especially clancy. he's getting used to it and once we fence the back yard, it will be so nice to be able to let him out without having to actually go walk him every time. i'm learning that owning a home is a hell of a lot of work. i suppose that yard work wouldn't be so bad if i weren't trying to stack it on top of painting, unpacking, etc. i feel like i haven't really had a weekend in several months, mostly because i haven't. |

if you want to do something really nice for a friend of mine, my coach from last season is participating in a 100-mile cycling event to raise money for leukemia and lymphoma research. his name is tim and he's a spectacular guy. he teaches special education students in our public school district. i'm hoping to steer him a few small donations (they build up -- believe me -- you wonderful folks helped me considerably last season) and even if it's $5 or $10, that will make a difference. he has to raise $3700 (his goal is $4400) and i'm hoping that i can get him closer to that amount by steering him a lot of little donations (a few bigger ones are always harder) and i hope you can help. it only takes a few minutes, and like i said, even if it's only $5, those little donations build up quickly. besides, it's tax-deductible. http://www.active.com/donate/tntnofl/tn if you decide to do this, please leave a comment in my post here so that i can thank you personally. |
