Singapore airline kicks ass! I went from San Francisco to Hong Kong to Singapore to Vietnam - all on Singapore airline. The flight attendants are super nice and are very helpful and patient. The food was good, too! The female flight attendants have the coolest uniform. I'm sure guys like it. You can see it <a href="http://www.singaporeair.com>here</a>.

I'm in Vietnam now.. at an internet cafe. It's only a block or so away from Dale's relative's house. Nice. The weather here is like Taiwan's - super humid. I'm sweating like a pig. (well, not right now, there's a fan circulating air in here and it's nice) But yeah, that's fine. I'll get used to it. I did when I was in Taiwan. I ended up being fine in pants most of the trip to Taiwan in 2001.

Not only is the weather similar, but the crazy drivers are, too! Most of the lights at the intersections are out and so people just go into the intersection and meet in the middle and people swerve and stuff in the middle. Most people ride mopeds or motorcycles, so it's not like there are a billion cars piled up. The cab that we took back to the house from the airport was driving in middle of the road half the time with disregard to the lane lines. There are little shops and stands that line the streets, too.

Dael's cousin, Dao (I don't know how her name is spelled, but that's how to pronounce it) is really nice. She's going to be our translator for the trip. Her English is surprisingly good! She's 21 and really excited that we're visiting. She has already invited me to go hang out with her so we could talk about random stuff.

On the 4th and 5th, we're (all the "foreigners" here for the wedding) going on a tour around the city and stuff. That should be cool. :) I'm all for seeing more of the country and what it has to offer.

This place is awesome!.. well, despite the fact that I'm super paranoid about everyone around me talking about me because they know I don't understand the language.. but whatever. I don't care.

hahaha, I just got out of the shower... at the airport! Dale's sister and her bf have already left the "first class lounge..." She went to the bathroom and didn't come back until 10 minutes later and when she came out, she was like "I just took a shower! Carol, go take one!" So, I did. When I was in there, (there are individual stalls with doors and stuff) she came into the shower area and was like "hey, Carol! We gotta go.. enjoy! Hopefully, they don't harrass you!" Yeah, I hope not. When we were coming in here, they had to show the front desk people their first class ticket.. then Kelli (Dale's sis) was like "she's traveling with us, can she come in, too?" The lady seemed apprehensive, so Kelli said "okay, Jay (her bf) you can stay out here with Carol, I'm just going to go grab some coffee." The lady then said "okay, I will make the exception just this once..." So, we all got in. I'm rolling in the amneties first class has to offer. I'm too chicken to go to the buffet area for some free food though. I'm just going to lay low and read a book or something until my hair dries... I really hope I don't get stopped by the front desk ladies. I'm sure they saw Kelli and Jay leave. =/ I'll try to scout out some Asian family that is leaving and just follow them. We all look the same anyways.. :P Wish me luck!

I'm in Singapore! hahaha, I'm in the first class lounge at the airport in Singapore. Dale's sister and her bf are in first class so they smuggled me into the lounge with them. There are huge comfy couches, free food, and as you can see, internet access. I'm leaving for Vietnam in about 2 hours.

I watched "Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!," "13 going on 30" (or whatever it's called), "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," and "Envy." Yeah, I know, a bunch of girly movies, but meh.

Aaanyways, gotta go. If you want a postcard, give me your address!

Well, I finally told my parents that I'm going to Vietnam and Singapore... Yeah, I'm leaving tomorrow evening. :D Hehe. My parents were surprisingly cool about it. My mom did pull the "what? are you crazy? why are you going?!" But, I just said that I've never been there before and I want to go and she asked me "what about work?" and I said that they know about it. Then mom asked how much plane tickets were and I told her and she said "what?! That's insane! You have that kind of money?!" I said "well, had.. yeah..hey, you want anything from there while I'm there?" So, we started talking about shopping and stuff and she was pretty excited that I'm going. So, that was cool :) I told my dad and he was more interested that Dale's dad works for Autodesk than anything else. He was like "oooh.. wow, really?" Then I told them that he lives there like half the year and has an apartment there and my dad joked that "next time we go to Singapore, we can see if we can stay there!" (my parents have only gone once on their second honeymoon) So yeah.. no biggie. Now, I need to do a lot of packing! :O

Oh yeah, does anyone want to lend me some spending money? =/ I paid off all of my credit card bills since I'd be gone for a while.. and yeah.. I have about $200 in spending money now. Dale's mom suggested I bring a grand. Blah.

This weekend wasn't bad. A change of pace from my past 2598732 weekends. This one wasn't spent with Dale. It was spent feeling grungy due to lack of sleep and food. Last night's party was pretty fun. Beer goggles on everyone! Some dude I was talking to off and on throughout the night said goodbye to me when he was leaving so we exchanged hugs and "nice to meet you"s. Then, he grabbed my hand and was like "you're coming with me. you're coming home with me! Let's go, Carol!" It was really weird. I drank WAY too much. "3aad news" :( I didn't of course, I had to crash at Tyler/Ryan's cuz I had to drive to Sac this morning to volunteer. This morning sucked. I was still drunk when I woke up. I was super tired, too. I have no idea how I made it to Sac without plowing into a wall or another car.

Yeah.. I need to uh.. I dunno. Good times.

So yeah, I got bowed down to at work today! hahaha, I went to visit my old classroom, homebase P on my break and Miss Julie was sitting at one of the tables in a small chair and Miss Rosalie was standing behind her and when I opened the door and said "hi, guys!" they were bowing down with their arms outstretched and Miss Julie said "yay! Miss Carol is back! Are you here to help us?" and Rosalie said "We need you! Are you back yet? Come back!" I said "nah, I'm just on my break :(" and they were like "darn!" I really want to go back to that classroom, I love it :(. Kindergarten is meh. All I do is get lunch ready and read stories with funny voices for each character. Wooptiedoo.

After searching high and low from Victorias Secret to bra stores in the mall to Ross to Target to Burlington Coat to online, I finally found a super duper strapless bra! I got it at Mervyn's. After looking around all day yesterday for about 4 hours and coming home with just some new flip flops, (the stupid shoes I was wearing were uncomfy) I asked Dale's sister if she could recommend a good strapless bra. She's got huge boobs (yes, fake) so I figure she'd have the same issues as me. (not that I have huge knockers, I just have an issue with a bra that stays in place and offers some actual support.) She said she just went bra shopping yesterday and she found a great selection at Mervyn's. So, I went to Mervyn's today on my lunch break and was very excited about finding the right bra. I was very satisfied to find all the strapless bras in one section. Unlike most stores which categorizes their bras by brand. Mervyn's mainly categorizes by brand, but also by style. So, I didn't have to wander the whole "intimates" section to make sure I didn't forget a brand. They were very easy to find and they had all the sizes too. I had 7 bras within 5 minutes of being in the store. The last one I tried on was the best. It's by Maidenform. They have these hidden elastic strappies on the side that offer more grip and so it's tighter around the band, but not uncomfy at all. Because the damn thing actually stays in place, it offers superb support. Very nice :) I was also happy that they were on sale this week. I paid like 20 bucks for it...

Which is a lot better than the bra I got at Victoria's secret the other week... that was $50! It's a nice push up bra, but not strapless. It comes with clear straps and regular straps, and this extra extention thingee for if you have a low back dress, but clear straps with a strapless dress is just tacky as all hell. I want to keep the bra since it's very nice and puts my boobs where I'd like them to be.. (hehe), but fifty bucks? damn! I don't see myself wearing it that often anyways.. maybe if I want to be slutty and wear it with a low cut shirt, but *shrug*. I haven't decided yet. I need to see how much money I get on my next paycheck.

Anyone want to donate to the "make Carol's boobs look good" fund? :P

Hey, all you skinny people out there, are you in need of some mass? Need to gain a few pounds for that "curvy" look? Are you a guy who's girlfriend likes a bit o' chub on the tummy? Well, my friends, it's your lucky day! I'm giving my fat away for free! I've got about 50 pounds to spare! If you want some, let me know. I'll be glad to give it away.

If only it were that easy... :(

I've been working in homebase P, one of the preschool classrooms at work for about 2 months now. The teacher that was on vacation for a while came back on Monday and I was in that room with Miss Julie (who came back) and Miss Rosalie (the new primary caregiver). So, there were the three of us. It was pretty nice. There are usually 2 teachers per room. I got to do all the busy work and stuff, but it was cool. I like doing that kind of busy work. Anyways, today, I was put into a different room. I missed my Homebase P kids :(. I went to visit them before I needed to be in the other classroom and Miss Julie and Rosalie said "are you with us today?" I said "nah, I need to go to kindergarten." I then showed them what was planned for today and how to make the craft project thingee. (I did the lesson plan) Miss Julie said "Carol, don't go! What would I do without you here?" Then, I had to leave. When I went to visit at lunch, Miss Rosalie and Julie were hanging out (it was naptime) and Rosalie said "Carol, are you back?! Yay! Seeing you is like seeing gold, huh Julie?" and Julie said "we miss you! come back!" :) It really made my day. Nice to know that I'm appreciated. I really love my job. Stephanie, the director said that she wishes I didn't have to go back to school because they really need me and she doesn't want me to do just breaks because "you're too good, Carol. We need you!" Go me! Go me! I hope she said all this to the other director, the one I need to talk to about getting a raise! :D

On another note, living with family sucks.

I'm in a great mood right now. Today, work was a bit hellish, but I walked out at the end of the day with a huge smile on my face. The children didn't take their naps, there were fights and arguments and stubborn little people to be dealt with all day. There were times where I wanted to smack some kids, but they'd be straight from hell one minute, and the next minute they're doing something really nice for their friend or playing quietly or saying something cute or listening to what I am saying. I talked to some parents after my co teacher Julie left for the day. I gave them reports on how their child's day went and I realized I really enjoy talking to parents... even if I had to tell the parent that their child didn't listen all day and didn't take naps and talked back. I usually stick in a bit of something regarding an activity the kid liked to do or something nice that the child did. The parents are always very involved and want to hear about their kid's day so they could follow up and talk about it with their child.. even if they have to talk about "keeping your hands to yourself" or "not pulling plants" or "putting your listening ears on" or "just take a 10 minute nap" or "using walking feet inside" or "using inside voices inside." The parents really appreciate what Miss Julie and I do and they express it. It's a great feeling. :) At the end of the day, I got the remaining children (there were 6 kids left) to clean up the classroom, line up, and "bunny hop" next door. (where the teacher in that classroom stays until closing)

I know that not all parents all over the place are involved and care about their kid's every day life like these parents do. I'm lucky to work in a setting with well off households. These families do not suffer the stress of poverty or anything like that.

Since I have been working in the classroom I am currently in, (since about 3 weeks ago) several parents have asked me why I am not going to be a primary caregiver (in other words, permanent teacher) for their children. (as opposed to just being a sub) I told them that I will have to go back to school in mid January and that I am going on a three week vacation in August so the director felt that would not be the best for the children with me being gone for quite some time, then coming back after vacation only to leave in January. That's understandable though.. The parents were like "awww, you're so great with the kids!" I'm not trying to toot my own horn or anything, but Miss Julie (my co teacher) and I get along quite well and so it's really easy for me to do my maximum performance at my job. She's funny. Since I like doing crafty crap, she's been asking me to decorate the classroom with the children's work and stuff. She likes what I do and says "we make a great team! You're really creative and I'm good at organizing and cleaning!" Hahah, she's a bit of a neat freak, but it's fine. She gets the children to clean up after themselves.

She's going on vacation tomorrow and will be gone all of next week, too. I will in turn be kind of like the "head teacher" in the classroom for next week. The new teacher coming to be the permanent teacher is a lady who used to work in the two's department. She's new to preschool age kids and she is not familiar with our lesson plans and procedures and stuff like that. So, I'll be showing her the ropes next week while she gets acquainted with the students in the classroom and what goes on and stuff.

I'm a bit nervous about it at the same time though.. but it should be okay.

Now, I just need to talk to the director about increasing my pay rate. He only raised me $.50 from when I worked there 2 summers ago with less than half the number of Early Childhood Education units and I have 2 more years of experience now, too. Oh, and I'm doing more work. So yeah.. wish me luck! Tomorrow is payday! W00t!
