Two dreams last night. In one, I was playing the part of Spider Man riding in a taxi with Mary Jane on my way to thwart some villanry. While I was putting on my costume in the car, we were having a conversation over our relationship and the dangers "I" (as Peter Parker) faced and how it would affect us. I knew I was playing a part of some kind because I knew exactly what to say, like I had memorized a script. For some reason I had an Apple Pro Keyboard in my lap. We were sitting in the backseat of this car/taxi/whatever and I pulled down the seat back and got one of the Apple mice out from the trunk. The cord bopped Mary Jane on the head and I apologized profusely. She shrugged it off and giggled, telling me it was alright. For some reason we needed to stop at a convenience store. I hadn't put on the hood or gloves yet, so I threw on a trenchcoat and pulled it closed. We went inside looking for wrapping paper. Things get a little fuzzy.. then somehow I'm on the roof of the store having an argument with some kind of villan or burglar or something. That's it. The second dream: I was at a comedy show sitting in the front row. Bill Cosby was on stage. The set was a desk with a sofa off to the side like a late night talk show, and there was a padded bench directly in front of the desk. Bill started his routine and midway through asked me to come up on stage and participate in his act. We had an amusing conversation that made the audience laugh, and then he went to pull out some pictures or something. He went into this whole bit of opening drawers in a comical fashion, looking for these pictures all over the place. Drawers were being pulled out from the sides of the desk, the sofa, the backdrop, walls, even thin air. This went on for a little while. I started doing things like looking at my watch, yawning, basically looking bored. The audience would chuckle a bit every time I did something. Then, I decided to lay down like I was going to take a nap on the padded bench. They lost it and I got a bunch of laughs and applause. I recall a point where I gave the audience a 'WTF?" look. It was strange, because I've always, always had stage fright. Getting up in front of a large group of people and doing anything scares the shit out of me. But when I looked out at these people, I didn't feel scared at all. After that whole bit was complete, we chatted a bit more and then he asked me to sing along with him. Only I had never heard the song before, ever. It was very weird. I remember hearing every note clearly, all the lyrics were coherent and made sense. I know I've never heard this song before so the only explaination is my subconcious made it up. I'm totally bummed I can't remember it now because it was really good! It was kind of an odd fusion of classic song style like "Hit the Road Jack" and "Get a Job" with... synthpop. After that the show ended and people rushed the stage to talk to Bill. I had to get out of there. I remember wading my way through the crowd to the exit, grabbing a free soda off a table and walking out the service entrance. Then, I woke up. Maybe I shouldn't have had all that sugary soda before I went to bed. :P

Hm.. I'm in a funk for some reason. Can't quite place my finger on it. I think I'm a little lonely? But I'm being picky about who I want to hang out with so that might not be it..... Let's see, what else is going on... All Apple employees are getting a free 1GB iPod Shuffle sometime soon. That's neat. I don't have to buy a new USB memory stick now. We got a few in today and I played with one.. it's actually pretty neat. Amazing sound for such a small device. Also the aforemantioned Le Tigre dealie was due to that, when I popped the sucker into iTunes on my work machine, it was like "hey, here's a free compilation album!" So I clicked on TKO since I'd heard a little of Le Tigre before and had been iffy on them.. But their new album ohmygod! It was the same way with Modest Mouse for me. I used to not really like them at all years ago when heff was really into them. The singer got on my nerves. But their most recent album really grew on me. I'm not sure what it is.. Maybe it's alot cheaper to get quality equipment and/or using computers for sound processing is making it easier to get that "polished" sound? Or are these indie bands just selling out and getting help from their bigger record label studios? Oh yeah, and The Donnas. Same thing. Old stuff I'm not very keen on. Their last two albums totally rock my balls. Maybe I'm just a total poseur. Unpunk is down. Again. On a somewhat related note, I sprung for Dreamhost's "code monster" hosting package. Web hosting is getting so cheap now! For $20/mo, I get 7+ gigs of space, and something insane like 192GB of data transfer per month. By the way, if you decide to sign up and use the link I provided, I get a little kickback that goes toward my hosting plan. Neat! I've got my new site I'm working on, dorkusmaximus.net, and two other sites I'm toying around with. Plans I had for one may not work because I can't seem to get Wakaba Zero and Kareha scripts to work. Seems like a perl version issue. Either that or I'm a boob, or their documentation is poor. Or all of the above. I'd like to get a Mac Mini sometime this year. I'd like to go fulltime sometime soon. I'd like to get into Apple corporate in a year or so. If sooner, great! The question is, doing what? Retail seems to have sucked the life out of alot of my coworkers who've been there for a while. I really don't want that to happen to me.. But it could be worse. Much worse. I could be on the sales floor... on Saturday... during the mad rush for iPod Shuffles and Mac Minis. *shiver* I've actually got a pretty sweet setup aside from it being part time. I ended up liking Will and Grace when I thought I'd hate it. Now, my bed calls...
