LNS command line tools

This is probably clutching at straws, but its worth a try. Does anyone here know the command for kicking 1 specific Virtual interface of an LNS? having a problem with a barred customer who just will not disconnect, and we are getting multiple complaints about the crap that is coming out of his computer.

The Police don't like my car

Well I am starting to get the impression that the police don't like my new car as much as I do. In 11 and a 1/2 years driving i had been pulled over twice, once for a headlight out, and once for sitting in a layby on new years day (long story!) and then in december i bought my new car............ Since then i have been pulled over 3 times. All 3 times the cops were reasonable and after passing the breath tests they let me go without even getting a producer, but it is starting to make me paranoid every time i see a police car now.
It seems that my car possibly had a minor accident with a police car a year or so ago, and could now have been flagged on their system as someone to check up on. Unfortunately this flag stays with the car and doesn't take into account the change of ownerships, bah!

laughter is good!

I have just laughed for 10 minutes straight, and it felt good. why did i laugh? because its 1:30 am, I am wearing sunglasses, sitting upside down on a sofa, eating scrambled egg and i only have 1 sock on........ and suddenly it dawned on me how ridiculous this is.

Thought for the day......

Why is it that most sandwiches say "freshly made on day of purchase" yet still have 'display until....' dates on that are 4 days in advance?

Spamassassin seems to have decided that LJ comments are spam and is filtering out the notifications and I am missing them. I have added this to my ham list now, but am unsure if this is going to work permanently or not!

I haven't been fishing for ages, maybe this weekend i shall get around to reloading my fishing gear (the line is old and needs replacing, and my hooks have all gone rusty). That way I can take the kayaks out and go fishing next weekend.

Another late weekend update

On friday I went to Gareths, where pete bought us all chinese. Chilled out til late then came home. Saturday I went to pete's but found he was going to the cinema, which i didn't fancy, so i stayed at petes playing ps2 all day ;-). Sunday I went over to my parents for mothers day, had a lovely sunday lunch, then went round and saw Simon for the first time in months. Was great to catch up with him, he used to be my best friend when i lived with my parents, but we kinda drifted in seperate directions when i moved away. Seems he is now working just down the road from me now, so i may see more of him in the future.
Sorry not to be around much, i am so behind on lj now that i have no idea what is going on in peoples lives anymore, so expect some late comments on your lj's. Unfortunately a friend of mine is having a bit of a problem, so have been spending a lot of time their helping out, which leaves me with not much time for computers. I shall update and explain at some point though

Oooh, i am delayed

Well its nearly 'next weekend' and i haven't even written about 'last weekend' yet, bad Thrawn!
Last weekend was cool, friday i went over to Pete's and he convinced me that we would go to Dorset on saturday to pick up his new Kayak. So i stayed the night, which ended up playing PS2 til 6:15am. Got up about midday and started to fit my roofrack, only to find that the bolts to hold it to the roof were missing. This promptly led to a 2 hour panic trying to find some bolts that fit. Anyway finally left for Dorset about 3, arrived at canoe place at 7:30 and picked up the canoe, then decided to visit a friend who was nearby. Turned out she was in a pub, so we joined her for a pint (Of coke) and then left at 9:00. Stopped at a little chef on the way back and got given 3 free coffee's as he was just closing up and couldn't be bothered to use the til. Got back to petes about 1am then home at 3am.
Sunday i got up early and headed to a meet of the VVOC. Was good fun, 35 vectras in lakeside car park, and about 50 people. Had a good chat with them in between snow showers, blizzards and high winds, and then headed home at about 4. Pictures can be found here if you are interested. Also bought my new Blue coloured window switches, so now only have the heated mirror indicator and the light switch to do before i have a full set of blue interior lights, which is cool.
Monday: went round to Petes, picking up Ewa and being force fed pizza and cheesecake on the way.
Tuesday: night Went to Gareths and helped install a computer
Wednesday: went back to Gareths to finish of installing the computer
Thursday: Had a lovely early night.
Friday: Its snowy and white again, walking to work it was almost blizzardish and i couldn't see more than 10 feet ahead of me. Not bad for english weather!
And thats about it really. what a lovely interesting life i lead! LOL

Snow is good!

On tuesday I sold my old car wheels, and the guy was coming to collect them last night. Got home at about 7:30, wasn't too cold and all the snow had gone. Figured that was the end of it for a year, whcih was a shame. Guy turned up at 8:30 and i helped him take the wheels out to the car, only to find that there was a couple of cm snow everywhere and the world looked so pretty. I like snow, there is something relaxing and calming about watching it.
I haven't been around much recently, a friend of mine is having sever personal problems so I have been spending a lot of time helping him get himself back together again. Things are starting to improve, so hopefully i shall get my spare time back soon. Sorry to ignore you all, but i shall return!

New sport

I have invented a new sport, snowyaking! It involves finding a steep hill, civered in snow (yay snow!) and using your kayak instead of a sled, then battering the kids with the oars on the way down steering around all the kids with the oars. Great speeds can be achieved, and with skill and control you can even make it to the bottom without getting bruised!!! of course this is all hypothetical, but if the snow continues then maybe i shall try at the weekend!

Wow!

Very busy week last week. It was my colleagues last week, so we spent the week handing over existing faults, and working twice as hard coz he is a lazy bastard at the best of times, but had decided he wasn't going to do anything on his last week anyway. It appears he was more of a 2 faced git than i thought too, as I didn't even get told about his leaving drink until 5 mins before he left, not leaving me enough time to change arrangements.
Friday saw the launch of our new website. looks a little more professional than the last one, but nothing really makes it stand out from the competition now.
Saturday I went to Gareths, as my flatmate was having a LAN party and after last week i had just had enough of computers so wanted to hide. On the way my car started to do very odd things, and kept accelerating then slowing down on its own. After much investigation i found it to be the idle airc control valve, but didn't have any tools to fix it. Drive it home, revving it really hard a few times to increase the engine pressure, which worked temporarily enough to get me home.
Sunday i rushed out and bought myself the right tools, then went to Gareths to dismantle my engine, so I could clean Up the IAC valve. This worked a treat, and saved me the 110 quid vauxhall were going to charge me ("ooh yes sir, looks dreadful and will need replacing...." assholes!!!)
Monday was spent tweaking the website again at work, followed by a chilled out evening at home with the telly. Tuesday was more of the same, followed by a trip to Gareths for baby sitting. Unfortunately some arse drove into my car while it was parked, and didn't stop or leave details. On investigating it appears that the guy opposite gareths has backed out of his drive into my car, as he now has a broken tail light and my paint all over his bumper. Spoke to my insurance company and was told i had to go to the police, so wednesday evening was spent making an official statement to the police, who are taking this quite seriously as it is classified as failure to stop at an accident. Still waiting on that, but it goes over to chelmsford police today, so hopefully will hear form them soon. Initial quote from external inspection (wheels have to come off and it has to be looked at properly before this is verified) indicates that i need a replacement bonnet, drivers side wing, front bumper, headlight unit, possibly 2 new shock absorbers and possibly a new steering rack. All of which could come out at anything up to £1200. Rather amusing considering the dent is only the size of a football, unfortunately cars are supposed to go forwards and backwards, and don't like being pushed sideways.
I am starting to think that maybe i am cursed when it comes to cars now, as something bad always seems to happen to them. If any one believes in resurrection, make sure you don't come back as one of my cars!

Week off work

Well last week was interesting, on friday work finally confirmed that i could have the next week off as holiday (with all the redundancies they weren't sure they could do it) so i had a week of no work. Friday I picked up some new alloys for my car. Saturday I went to lakeside for a VVOC meet, followed by a day at a rolling road (see previous post) Sunday I spent the day at Pete's fixing my engine bay up a bit, and discovering I need 2 new inlet manifold hoses, followed by an evening at Gareth and Ewa's. Monday was spent not doing much, followed by chilling out at petes til late. Tuesday I took the car to the garage and got part of the steering fixed, followed by a trip to the wheel place to get my wheels aligned, then chilled out at Gareth and Ewa's for the evening. Wednesday was spent taking my dashboard apart and re doing all the bodged blue Led's i fitted, so that they now work properly, then taking my switches apart in preperation for Thursday. Thursday was spent removing bulbs and resoldering LED's and resistors into the switches to turn them blue instead of the standard orange, which went really well and looks really cool. Friday I went back to looking at my engine bay, did a semi service on it (changing spark plugs, oil, and generally tidying it up) and started trying to get the horrid yellowed lacquer off the top of the engine. Saturday I took Pete and Sue to Clacton to pick up some oars and to look at a campsite, we then went back to Gareth and Ewa's (only Gareth went away for the weekend) had supper and i stayed chatting to Ewa til 2:30 then home. Sunday was spent running around madly at home tidying up, then washing the car, then off to Sue's (Pete's mum) for supper with Pete and Sue. Monday was my first day back at work, My colleague was told that I am staying and actually took it quite well, so thats a worry off my chest. Spent the evening chilling out at home. Tuesday work was a bit dull and crap, and a little tense, followed by an evening baby sitting Gareth and Ewa again then getting stuck in the thickest fog I have ever seen on the way home, which took me 1hr 25 mins to do a 25 min drive.
All in all an interesting week, not the most relaxing due to other things that occured due to the week, that I may post about at a later time, and I got a lot done.
