9:10 am :: Highly compressed music
You know, even though I hate Windows Media Player, I have to admit: A 32 kbps, 22 kHz .WMA sounds pretty damn good on a PocketPC.

At that compression, they're really small, too. 857kb for a 3:32 song that was originally a 3.23mb 128kbps MP3.

I think it's about time to put my 32mb compactflash card to use. . .

Monday is a school holiday, since it's a bad weather day that we never needed to use. Thus: 3-day weekend.

Now, if I didn't have extracurricular stuff that I had to go to through 17 hours of this weekend, I'd be able to catch up on some well-needed sleep. . .

teferi just pointed out that bnetd has been shut down, due to violation of the DMCA because 'the aforementioned site either hosts or distributes software which illegally modifies and/or alters Blizzard Entertainment copyrighted software or bypasses anti-circumvention technology, thereby infringing upon Blizzard Entertainment copyrights.'

Doesn't seem to matter, of course, that it's false; bnetd doesn't actually modify Blizzard's software. It just acts as a server.

This law needs to die, along with the politicians that passed the damn thing in the first place.

After I spent so long typing in the song times by hand on my playlist, I went and wrote a program to do so.

It's currently Win32-only (but why would you be using Winamp on something else? ;P), but I might zhum a version for xmms playlists sometime.

I wonder if it's a bad thing that Xfree86 no longer appears to be capable of noting any keyboard input.

Got the intellimouse working, though.

[Edit: Woo, got it working. Apparantly debian put two mouse configurations in XF86Config-4, which caused problems when I edited one to use the imouse. Oy.]
