So...in leu of LJ being down a little bit lately, I've done something which I've wanted to do for a while, move my diary, blog, whatever you call it to Advogato.
I'd like to thank my friend http://www.rm-rstar.com/sema4/ for the suggestion to switch from LJ.

Well, things have continued to get heated with Jen and Rachel. Jen is staying in the room every night, so we can't get the room alone. It's okay, two are going to play at that game. Jen is also giving Rachel the ever so ineffective and childish silent treatment. Besides that, nothing much is up. Rachel and I got Thai food last night. It was good. Rachel is here, I am going to get going.

As a side note, Rachel had thrown up 2 times when I was away, make that four times.
I forgot to mention that Rachel and I think that it's the Papasan Chair which Jen got. Let me list the reasons:
- Who gives away a papasan chair for free?
- If you need to put your nose up to something to smell it, it's not going to litter a whole corner with stench
- The timing is right since they just put the chair in that corner.
Rachel and I were in the corner, and it SLIGHTLY smelled when we closed the window. I put my nose down to the chair and smelled. Eventually, I smelled this, horrid, rancid smell in one localized place. Smelling the carpet reveals practically nothing.

I forgot to note today is Rachel and my 5 month anniversary.
She woke up today and threw up, twice, presumably since she didn't eat with her meds.

Some days, I can get away with not posting for two days. Other times though, things get REALLY busy and I should post more often. However, when things are busy, it gets challenging to post. Hmmm...is this a paradox?
Anyways, Monday was nothing short of spectacular. Rachel and I went to Presque Isle and hung out there for a long time. After walking a while, we found some cliffs on the far side. I have a ton of really pretty pictures up athttp://kbreit.dyndns.org:8080/photos/Nature/. Check it out, you'll probably like it. Most of the things are in Rocks and Water.
That day ended, going down as a good day. Yesterday came around, and the inverse happened. For better or for worse, to Rachel, not to myself. She woke up and went to class. I went to her room at 10:30 after she called. She's feeling a little under the weather. I kinda said something which wasn't nice. That ended up being a dead issue in the end. She went to the bank and they were closed. She missed her classes. She talked to her sister and said her day sucked, and Becky laughed. So as we can see, it's not going well. Ready for it to get worse? Ready for drama? Read on :)
Rachel and I went for a little cruise, as she wanted to get away from people. I guess Jen was kind of bitching about me or something and Rachel wasn't in the mood to hear it. We got back, and saw Kat on the way up ot Jen's room. We were going to go to bed soon. "Have you seen your room Rachel?" said Kat. I knew what we were in for. You see, Jen made the comment that their carpet smells. Yes, it does smell. Only in one corner though. It wasn't even that bad. Jen had asked Rachel if they could pull the carpet out. Rachel said not to, since the year is weening and it wasn't worth the hassle. Rachel and I walk into the room and the carpet is up, there's crap ALL OVER the room. The room is ripped apart, entirely. As you may have guessed from reaching my LiveJournals, tension has been building WRT Jen. Well, then everything went BOOM! Rachel and I left the room and went to mine for a bit. Inbetween then, I guess Jen called Andy or something, saying "If you want to keep it, let me know, or I'll throw the carpet out". The carpet was $80 or $100. It has hardly gotten its use. We go back to the room to stop Jen from throwing it away. Jen goes and tells us to get on our knees and smell it, because it "stinks". If a carpet smells because it stinks, then it doesn't smell enough to do stuff with it, at least with little time left. Rachel tells Jen that she has had a bad day, and requested for it not to be taken apart, because she wanted her crap left alone, because she wanted to go back, do her math homework, and go to sleep. Jen gets all hissy, pulls the stuff off Rachel's bed and says "THERE, JUST GO TO SLEEP!" Rachel starts crying and screaming, I don't remember which one. I think both. I then took Rachel's hand, got her keys, and pulled her out of the room. She threw the keys sometime in there too, I don't remember when. However, shit hit the fan in regards to Jen. More on this as it happens.

Aaron was up over the weekend. It was a great time. I didn't spend as much money as I thought I would. Aaron spent ~$600 though. OUCH! It was mostly Aaron and myself. A little bit though, Rachel hung out with us. Rachel's rollerblading skills are progressing REALLY well! I am quite impressed. I gotta start my next Java project. I have three projects due in the next week. Thank the lord I have nothing for math. I am making tea, as I get ready to go to Tech Writing. That's going to suck. I have to sit through people's presentations. BLECH! I really don't give a shit. The weather is nice. The window is open all the way. It's about 55 and not a cloud in the sky. I kinda missed it.

Okay, here's my plan of attack. I am going to backup my web data, logs, config files, etc. I am then going to proceed to take the server down (sometime today). When I get the time (this week) I am going to format the disk and put down a fresh install of OpenBSD 3.0. The web server should be up sometime next week.

Who is emilys?
As a result, web server will probably be down sometime today.

Today, I downloaded Webmin for my laptop. I was kind of curious what it could do. It fucking rules. It allows you to configure basically all my servers and most of my system preferences on the fly in a web browser. If you're using Unix/Linux and looking for an easy system administration utility, this is it! Off to hack Java!

I am writing this LiveJournal entry on paper, and will later type it up, since I am so bored in this math class. Well, lets get the rant about Jen out of the way first. You see, she is an annoying person. I hate morning people. She's always so fucking chipper in the morning. Well, RAchel and I were taking a nap. Jen then woke us up so we could go to class. Not only did she keep trying to get us up, but she cares if Rachel goes to class. Not only was her class worthless, but Jen doesn't go to EN111 Half the time anyways. So Jen was pissing me off trying to wake us up. I said "Jen, not everyo9ne gets up as easily as you in the morning." She corrected me saying it was 1330, not the morning. Oh piss. So, she said I wasn't allowed in her room on Tuesday, becuse I yelled at her. I really hate she doesn't come to me with this issue. She never does. Rachel never did go to class. Today, Jen was walking outside and jumped in a puddle. I asked "Did you mean to jump over it or did you miscalculate?" She told me it's the same question. No Jen, it's not the same thing, they're opposite. Jen and Chad were fucking last night. We let them have the room for 3 hours. We went back in, I asked if they had fun. Chad said "I got my stuff done". I'm going to kill them if they locked us out to do their homework. Enough about Jen. Aaron is coming up here this weekend. It'll be a good time, I'm looking forward to it. However, it's at a bad time as I have a shitload of work to do, and would have allotted a good amount of the weekend towards that. It's okay. I wish to finish my Java project today. I've got a lot ot do on that though. I'm kind of pissed at it.

Lately, I've been having major issues with Jen. I'll comment on that later. But I guess that Jen made the comment to Kat, that ever since Rachel and I started dating, well, that I'm bad for Rachel's health. I guess becuase she sleeps a bit more, is a bit more lazy, etc. Lets do the math:
- She doesn't smoke anymore
- She doesn't party anymore
- She doesn't smoke pot anymore
- I am teacher her to rollerblade
Am I the only one here who thinks that Jen's math is a WEEEE bit wrong? More on Jen later :)

All I've heard about today is this papasan chair. My back is bad. Whether or not they're related, I'm blaming the chair! I had a couple things to say. Rachel's mom is being really tough in regards to her coming to Chicago in May for our 6 month. Sigh. I'm going to meet Rachel at the damn station in Chicago (most likely Union). Uhhh...I don't even remember what else. I found out my Java project was pushed back 2 days, at least.

I've wanted to update my LiveJournal for the past couple days, but none of that happened. Sorry. Well, lets do a recap of the weekend. I don't really remember Friday night. No, I wasn't drinking or any of that. I came back, did a bit of work, and went on my way. Saturday was slightly more eventful. Rachel and I pulled an all nighter and watched Fight Club. I didn't really like Fight Club all that much. My movie tastes also tend to be slightly different than what a lot of people are like (but are by no means eclectic). Sunday was a day of just lounging and doing work. We studied A LOT. She had an anthropology test to study for, and I had my government to do. I think my government went okay. Today, Rachel got a "Papasan" chair. I don't like it. First, I think it's too big for their room. Second, I don't like papasan chairs anyways. They eat my back alive. I have a sore enough back, I don't need a chair to make mine worse. It's not horrendous, they got it for free. "Foreclosure of a dream..." - Megadeth Sorry guys, just rocking out. Boston is still questionable this summer. I have been doing a lot of work for them lately, especially on the web site. I gotta get Gnome Control Center documentation building in CVS. I think I'm just going to need to commit. I'm nervous, as I don't want boc sliding down my throat again.

Slashdot is reporting that Apache 2.0 is out. ROCK! I'm psyched to get this on a test system and see how well it works. It probably won't take much work to get on top of a 1.3 system. The biggest problem is that the module system was rewritten. So, mod_php, mod_perl, etc are going to have to be ported. This is probably for the better, as the old system was full of crap I think. I'm hoping this new version will bring us closer to the speed that more enterprise based web servers enjoy. Will we beat them with this release? No. Will we be closer to them? Probably. I am looking forward to seeing the benchmarks that show its speed. I listening to this band, Opeth. They really rock. The lead singer has both a nice singing voice, and some pretty killer throating. I'm waiting for Rachel to be done with work.

I updated my photo gallery today. I added a bunch of really nice pictures in the Nature/Plants section of an orange rose close up. Jen and I went to a meeting regarding the laptop program here at NMU. It was interesting. If I learned only one thing, it's that the board here really isn't sure what is going on. They seem to think that having one model is going to help us. Maybe, only if it's a nice model. There were a couple times where they were caught sidestepping the question or doing what was basically a fillibuster. The guys who are trying to get iBooks as an option are a vocal group. They made sure everyone knew that they existed and what they wanted. It happened, I broke the Gnome 2 build today with a commit I made. It was a small commit, but broke things. boc pulled the commit I made to make it work, but I still feel bad.

A while ago, I emailed the school about some network corruption issues I was having. I was able to duplicate it on a couple of occasions. I have come to the conclusion it was one of their firewall or routers. They never replied...
