I'm a Canadian gal travelling around the world. I've been doing this for a couple of years now, and am looking to make a profession out of it. I am passionate about how technology, communication and travel have changed the world (for the better, usually). I also have a thing about public health. (Don't get me started about vaccination programs - I'll be talking about how amazing they are through to next Tuesday. You have been warned.)
My posting rate is directly connected to how much free Internet I can find in a given area, and just access to the Internet, in some places. I have been known to post a load of entries, all backdated, to fill a timeframe (usually stuff written while on the road, where internet access starts at $8/hour).
I attempt to improve myself by picking a monthly project. Sometimes these take a week, sometimes not. Sometimes they're "finished" months later. I reference them on here to remind myself what I've committed to.
Pixel was the name of the Cat Who Walked Through Walls because it didn't understand that it couldn't. The in-joke is that it could... if you believe all the quantum physics hoo-haw. It made quite the impression on my young mind, and has stayed with me since. The 12 is an appendage from a NY Times membership a loooooooong time ago.
